For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

What's all this about being thin while breastfeeding Lots of people don't lose it until they stop. I put on four pounds over wheat week. Thank god it's over, I feel better already.

1 kiwi, some watermelon and mango. I think it's another day for pimms and sushi on the beach. (We HAVE to pass Waitrose on the way, honest)

Hello ladies

Just popping in - been a bit busy and a bit ill but on the mend now. Had a quick flick through the last day or so. BF - love it love it love it and may have to have another baby so I can keep doing it. Fed DD1 til she was 18 months old, by which time I was pg again and feeling rather in need of my body back for a while. Still feeding DD2 (only 5 months) and loving it. can't express much at the moment though - any tips?

Good luck to lullaby for her appointment - hope the consultant come up with the goods.

Love the idea of the 2 les dawson women chuntering on disapprovingly. Regret that my BF self has similar bosoms to those 2 even though the rest of me is quite slim. Oh dear.

F and V - about 6 yest but just about to go and have blueberries, nectarings and a couple of apples. Love the idea of the salad bowl in the fridge. I have been having a big salad for lunch most days this week and felt much better for it.

Enjoy the weekend everyone

Mrs C....with my ys, I defiantely wasn't able to loose any weight until after I stopped....but tbh...I'd rather would have preferred to feed him longer...hohum....

zippitippitoes · 11/08/2007 09:45

no it was a do it yourself triathlon gym, swim and walk..took me about 4 hours

zippitippitoes · 11/08/2007 09:46

hope lullaby's appomtment is the start of sorting things out quickly

ahundredtimes · 11/08/2007 09:57

Have eaten apple and raspeberries for breakfast.

F&Z - oh no didn't stir that much up at all, other than appalling memory. Honestly. Besides, as they grow older so many more and new things come whirring in on the wind that how you fed them when they were two, really ceases to be a cause of concern. Promise. DS1 is 10 in October fgs. TEN.

Is shocking. Am going to find some more fruit.

BBBee · 11/08/2007 10:23

overripe mange tastes a bit like sick

zippi does triathlons - jesus - makes my exercise of a stroll to the shop seem a little lame.

BBBee · 11/08/2007 10:25

mango

zippitippitoes · 11/08/2007 10:27

zippi does her own sad pretend triathlon with herself as the only competitor lol

zippitippitoes · 11/08/2007 10:27

BBBee · 11/08/2007 10:28

TnOgu · 11/08/2007 10:38

zippitippitoes · 11/08/2007 10:44

walk to gym 15 mins

bike and treadmill then legs and arms on weight resistance then treadmill about 1.25 hours

swim 60 lengths of lady breaststroke 1 hour

walk 6 miles 1hr 45mins depends on how long i spend half way and how fast i feel like walking

I don't run too embarrassed to try that

pinkspottywellies · 11/08/2007 11:00

Hello! I've had a quick read through! I still have 3 months to go till I'm a wierdy extended bf-er! Nearly there! I think I may be a bit wierdy though in that I don't enjoy it I don't dislike it but I don't find it lovely or bondy or anything. It's just baby milk to me.

Avi, the melon thing, when dd was constipated when I first weaned her someone told me melon was a diuretic. I thought the melon might be making her wee more and therefore drying out the poo (sorry graphic!) and making it more difficult to pass!

Franny, I live in Lincolnshire, I think you asked the other day.

F&V - yesterday was poor. Melon, raisins, banana bread, chips and cheese , spinach, tomato pasta sauce. Today just raisins so far but will try harder.

MrsCarrot · 11/08/2007 12:27

100x - my ds is ten in November, I can't believe it either. He really is a lovely boy, he's been at a sleepover and I know he will have been funny and polite and well mannered. When DD goes somewhere for tea, I kind of sit at home wringing my hands.

NotQuiteCockney · 11/08/2007 12:30

I don't think I've been managing the F+V while on holiday (maybe yesterday: big salad, 2 bowls of wild blueberries, lots of watermelon, and a couple of cobs of sweetcorn), but the exercise bit has been going gangbusters. I've been running, walking, canoeing, kayaking, and waterskiing (yes, it's exercise! I am in agony!).

FrannyandZooey · 11/08/2007 14:13

NQC helloooooooooo

it wasn't OVER ripe mango it was VERY ripe mango - delicious, just incredibly soft. I had an overripe one the other day and had to throw it all out and snort bleach up the inside of my nostrils to get rid of the smell. Much worse than sick IMO

you know every time someone says F + V I think they are talking about me, F + Z, and spelling it wrong

I have had blueberries and baked beans. Not together.

Hello everyone, you all sound chirpy. Hello Tnogu, fancy staying longer next time?

zippitippitoes · 11/08/2007 14:16

i keep thinking that about f&v too

so I shal go and buy some now

FrannyandZooey · 11/08/2007 14:24

Oh good I thought it was just me being appallingly egocentric

I am intrigued by your triathlon, zippi, I think something like that might keep me interested at times when I am feeling a bit jaded by exercise. I can't stand swimming though so I will have to invent something else for that part. Oh I don't like running either. Hmm.

I do that too F&Z - always do a double take.

Huge salad for lunch and supper today - not much fruit though. Need to shop.

TooTicky · 11/08/2007 18:36

Hello everybody

Have been to extremely hot village fete. Dd1 and ds2 dressed up for the parade (Florence Nightingale and Puss in Boots) but didn't win prizes Dd1 in particular looked quite splendid. Ds1 was going to be a mummy but had a crisis with his bandages and had to be unwrapped in a hurry. At the end ds1 went off in a strop (because he'd spent his £5 and I wouldn't give him more) and I had to abandon dd1 and ds2 on a pavement while dd2 (falling asleep on my shoulder) and I went to look for him and get him announced over the loudspeaker. Had to go home in the end and hope for the best. He was there before us - he'd walked. I was not a happy mummy (apart from being relieved he was okay, of course) and he now has to be EXTREMELY GOOD if he doesn't want me to cancel his archery course. And I got one of those slow, rolling pinches on my finger while trying to manhandle a bike into the boot. It didn't fit. 2 hours later my finger is still throbbing. Sorry, rant over.

Have eaten beans on toast with tahini and an apple.

BBBee · 11/08/2007 18:50

okay will stop being subtle - boco - facebook?

BBBee · 11/08/2007 19:04

Isn't it all claggy.
