For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Spread tahini on toast, pour beans on top. I don't find it claggy

BBBee · 11/08/2007 19:59

ah - so instead of butter. Need a use for tahnini other than houmous - it always goes out of date.

Boco · 11/08/2007 20:00

Hello, just spent a lovely sunny day on the beach in Southwold - girls all sandy and tired. They tried to bury house guest but he took it well.

BBBee what do you mean - about facebook?

BBBee · 11/08/2007 20:04

oh god - how sad is this!

can I be your friend?

BBBee · 11/08/2007 20:04

glad you managed to tame houseguest. He was just deep down jealous and harbours a desperate crush on you.

Boco · 11/08/2007 20:08

Mais oui. You're the only mumsnetter i've actually met, i like having actual concrete people as friends, especially if you use your actual name and not you made-up cyber chat name. Someone said to me recently - half your friends on facebook are called silly things like 'giblet' - who are these people?

So, in conclusion. Yes. You have to add me to your list though, to make it work.

BBBee · 11/08/2007 20:09

okay - off to fiddle.

BBBee · 11/08/2007 20:09

with facebook.

Boco · 11/08/2007 20:10

Yes, that's bound to be it

Dp did have a friend who would get drunk and all strokey and soppy - was awful actually. He's married with a child now - thank goodness.

Boco · 11/08/2007 20:13

Overheard funny conversation this morning between houseguest and dd aged 2.

HG - is this a my little pony?
dd - no, it's MY little pony, it's not your little pony!
HG - yes i know, but its your MY little pony.
dd - no, i am not your little pony, i am a little girl, and i am not yours!
HG. Christ. I'm not getting into an ownership dispute about a my little pony.
dd - why have you got no hair?

ME - right! So! Shall we go to the beach?

BBBee · 11/08/2007 20:18

how can I find you - have typed in your name and gives me loads of americans.

Oh sorry this is a bit of a hijack isn't it.

I made a lovely kind of coleslaw with grated carrot, spring onion and lemon dressing.

BBBee · 11/08/2007 20:19

lol "no, it's MY little pony, it's not your little pony!"

FrannyandZooey · 11/08/2007 20:51

Have eaten corn and green beans. Ow.

BBBee · 11/08/2007 20:56

where are you going Fran?

I have period pain too.

MrsCarrot · 11/08/2007 21:08

I haven't got period pains I guess it will return sooner or later though, can't remember how long it took with the others.

BBBee - I keep meaning to ask how your holiday was? I have been to the beach today too but didn't fancy swimming, the wind was chilly.

FrannyandZooey · 11/08/2007 21:17

Oh didn't I mention it once or twice already?

(sorry for banging on but am wildly excited actually and even couldn't get to sleep LAST night for thinking about it)

we are going to London for 2 nights and doing all sorts of lovely things. With Greeny. I may have mentioned it once or twice so far I think

BBBee · 11/08/2007 21:33

oh god yes of course you did - have no memory AT ALL! call everything in her house 'cunting'.

Mrs Carrot - how was the blood test - did tyhey find a vein? I have crap veins and it always takes ages. My holiday was divine - and I got to meet Boco. We were lucky and had glorious weather so lots of beach, sea and sandcastles. Quite kitsch - that I love - with helter skelters and cat potteries and crab fishing too. Was just me and 2 dc's - only issues was how to dash to the loo last thing at night when they were asleep - otherwise very relaxing and fun. I pitched the tent on a cliff top looking out to sea so I could have coffe gazing at the sea in the morning - couldn't work out why all other tents were pithced the other way. Turns out that the wind comes off the sea and literally blows you tent door open day and night - but weather was good so I could live with that and I had nothing worth stealing. Only once did it get too much and I hid in the car and listened to radio 4.

Anyway - fruit and vegetables:
Found a great thing for low carbing - loads of lettuce and spring onion with lemon and garlic dressing and grated parmesan.

BBBee · 11/08/2007 21:34

what are you doing in london? any really fun plans?

Boco · 11/08/2007 21:38

bbb are you using the name you used in your email? There are 5 people with that name on facebook but none of them are you.

FrannyandZooey · 11/08/2007 21:39

Ooh YESSSS now you come to ask

We are going here tomorrow

and then here

and also here and here and here

and I think here but HC and Greeny don't know about that bit yet

(am eating phish food and sulking about period pain atm, thank you for taking my mind off it)

Hello all, I am currently eating cottage cheese with chopped up raw fennel and am feeling very virtuous. On the other hand, I have just returned from my mum's where i consumed home-made brownies served with cream. And caraway seed cake. if I wasn't still b'feeding, to paraphrase Greensleeves, I wouldn't just be the size of the side of a house, I'd be as large as a wing of Blenheim Palace.
DS's teething agony seems to have abated, I think (but then I would as am almost weirdy extended b/feeder) because i took 1M of Chamomila due to wanting to leave him at Oxfam, and I suspect the mega dose of Chamomila has gone though my milk and soothed him considerably.
100X, have you read Deborah Jackson's "letting go as children grow"? Recommend it. I grieve a little bit every day as my baby slowly but surely unfolds into the six foot something man he will eventually be. I'm sure he'll be a lovely 6 footer but he won't be my littleun any longer. Sniff. (am i suffering weirdy b/feeding hormones to feel like that? Incidentally, ever since I watched "My Big Fat Greek Weeding" in my head I pronounce hormones as "hor-moan-ehs".)

MrsCarrot · 11/08/2007 21:41

I have good veins. It takes a few days before results she said, but if it's positive I have to have a bowel biopsy from the small intestine. I am not having it. If it is positve I shall just avoid those foods, if it's negative I can carry on eating other gluten.

I always pitch our tent facing the view too, I have noticed other people don't maybe that's why Did you got to Holkham hall?

Franny - I thought at first glance you meant you couldn't sleep due to excitement about your period. I know you like the mooncup but... Have fun in London

DH has gone back to the beach where we were today as there is a party at a camp down the road. He will be wasted I expect and come in late, and be grumpy tomorrow

BBBee · 11/08/2007 21:41

boco - ahh am using my actual name not chat name. can I email you my details and you find me?

BBBee · 11/08/2007 21:48

god fz it all looks wonderful - the story thing looks so good you will have such a wonderful time.

Am trying so hard not to seethe with envy. Come back with lots of tales to tell.
