no and it was not chloes pead! he is new to our hospital and hes swedish, i think it was clever of him to think of it even though its not it

peachygirl · 21/08/2007 21:07

Hi trace,
don't worry about the rectal diazepam the first time you have to do it is the worst - I have had to use it several times at work. You just have to make sure you hold the tube tight when you pull it out to make sure non onof the drug can be sucked back into it.
She is a cutie pie!!!

trace2 · 21/08/2007 21:12

hi peachy thank you, yes thats what the said today, i just dont know how ill cope whenever we bring her home theres some thing else wrong, its gone from her just going blue at first to this we also been told that her lip clacking she does is also a type of fit

Trace, just want you to know that I'm thinking of you all (my dd had to have MRIs etc. at a v.early age too). Chloe is gorgeous

trace2 · 21/08/2007 21:27

yes peachy i have been keeping a dairy for some time now as dd as what i called funny turns, like her arm going blue or her eys going up and her stairing, lots of little things.

chonky how old is dd now and is your dd having fits too?

taking ds to bed now ill check in morning and again thank you all

chonky · 21/08/2007 21:29

My dd had suspected infantile spasms (she used to jerk as if she was doing the Moro Reflex, but without any stimulus for it IYSWIM). However the EEGs cam back fine. She's now 3, and hasn't had any fits .

coggy · 21/08/2007 21:42

Trace...I had NO idea that you were going through all this.
I am SO sorry for you all.

Chloe is absolutely beautiful.
I hope that you can have some rest in your minds when she comes home.

I am thinking and praying for you.
((((hugs))))

Its really hard to say when you don't actually describe what happens. My son has epilepsy which presents as what I can only describe as 'choking' episodes. His first was the worst and so I shall describe that. He was walking across the room and got to a chair at the other side. He sort of slumped over it and stayed there for a while. This was unusual, and so I went over to him to see if he was OK. He turned towards me and I realised he couldn't breathe in. He was breathing out, but could not breathe in again and I heard a sound like the back of his throat opening and closing again (like it was in spasm) He went blue but I just sat cuddling him as he was terrified. I knew that if I reached for the phone to call an ambulance he would panic even more and get worse. Eventually, it passed (after what seemed like a lifetime) and he began to get his colour back. I was so relieved, I didn't even think of calling an ambulance. Anyway, we eventually got diagnosed with epilepsy, but this was hard to do. He also has cerebral palsy, and the doctors at the hospital were insistant that he had a swallowing problem. I got fed up with this and rang my neurologist, who almost immediately diagnosed epilepsy over the phone.Of course, this was followed up with an EEG. Don't know if this sounds anything like Tracy's problems, but it could give you a better idea (maybe)

trace2 · 23/08/2007 09:25

chloe came home yesterday! but i must addmit i am very scared
