not sure hydrocortisone should be applied near the eye?

JeremyVile · 10/07/2007 19:32

Aaaawww, i like it when you're all fluffy and vulnerable.

Herpes?

Nbg · 10/07/2007 19:34

Cannot help you,
you must be a medical marvel obviously

So the cream makes your eyes puff up?

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 10/07/2007 19:34

I would go to a doctor, you may need some A/B cream.

Nbg · 10/07/2007 19:34

You can use Hydrocortisone on the eyes.
I ahve it for occasional exzema. Its only 0.5%

Tinker · 10/07/2007 19:35

It means you're allergic to every single type of make-up

Tinker · 10/07/2007 19:35

All of it

Do you look like this now

If you are suffering any swelling or itchiness as well, then it might be a blocked tear duct.

chocolateteapot · 10/07/2007 19:36

Could it be Blepharitis ?

Rub your eye with a gold ring

puddle · 10/07/2007 19:37

Cod I have had this.

Tried loads of eye drops

Doc thought blepheritis (sp?) but treatment for that (bathing) didn't help. In the end I decided all it could be was an allergic reaction (gp did a swab for infection)

What worked in the end:

Cold turkey on all make up round eyes
Chucked out a load of eye make up (I think Lancome stuff triggered it in the first place) and sterilised all brushes, eye lash curlers etc
Used anti-allegy eye drops for a couple of weeks

I can only use clinique stuff now - anything else makes eyes flare up. Have had eyelashes dyed so i don't need mascara all the time.

SaintGeorge · 10/07/2007 19:38

Yeah, but that could be because the tear duct is blocked so any excess fluid is draining anyway it can.

Have a read through this

puddle · 10/07/2007 19:38

You really shouldn't use hydrocortizone cream near your eyes - the skin is too thin.

think it may be blepharitis

off to the doctors with you!

chocolateteapot · 10/07/2007 19:39

I used to work in an Eye Hospital many years ago and I'm sure I used to see people who had it on one side only.

But I'm crap and gave birth to my brains and can't remember much about it now.

Cod - am away so just checking emails and Mnet at the same time. From what I hear today, it's not your eye that's been the subject of discussion, but your arse? Is that true? Wow.

Sorry about eye btw. No advice on that.

Your eyes don't always go red with it from what I remember, just watery. The main symptoms are on the eyelid.

Tinker · 10/07/2007 19:41

I get soemthing liek this every now and then and think trigger is deffo make-up but couldn't go to puddle's extreme
