Which vaccines do you let your baby have?

Hi Everyone, I'm currently pregnant with my first (its a girl) and have recently become aware that some people don't vaccinate their children or only vaccinate them against some diseases e.g. meningitis but not others like flu or MMR.
I was just wondering if any other expectant mothers found the same thing, or if anyone has any advice!
This is a whole new world of me and I'm confused!

There are an awful lot of these threads at the moment.

There is no evidence that supports not vaccinating your children, and plenty of evidence that supports doing it.

NerrSnerr · 17/02/2019 19:23

Both of my children have had all the vaccines in the schedule. I only know or one person who openly hasn't vaccinated her children and that's because she's an idiot who believes shit she reads on FB.

If you're pregnant I would definitely consider getting the whooping cough jab, it protects your baby when they are newborn and very vulnerable to whooping cough (it can be fatal for babies).

exWifebeginsat40 · 17/02/2019 19:24

all of them. next!

Byebyefriend · 17/02/2019 19:24

All of them

whatswithtodaytoday · 17/02/2019 19:25

My child will be having all the vaccines on the NHS schedule.

LittleBearPad · 17/02/2019 19:25

They had all of them. Because I’m not an idiot who believes shite in the Daily Mail / on Facebook

AssassinatedBeauty · 17/02/2019 19:25

I got all the vaccinations available to me and my baby, for free. We are very fortunate to live in a country where this is the case.

jusdepamplemousse · 17/02/2019 19:25

Most people ensure their children receive all available recommended vaccines as it is an extremely low risk measure to lessen the possibility of their children contracting preventable serious disease and enduring the resultant suffering.

HTH. Hmm

Twickerhun · 17/02/2019 19:25

All of them. And I would actively avoid any child that I knew wasn’t vaccinated.
Next.

Hunkyd0ry · 17/02/2019 19:25

I have given everything on offer. Yes it’s hard when they are crying or have a bit of a fever after but I remind myself it’s so much better than them catching the disease I’m protecting them against.

A few people request single MMR rather than all together as they still remember the claim that it causes autism. It’s been proven not to but people still worry.

The science proves that vaccines are safe. Your children are threats to themselves and others without them.

Coolaschmoola · 17/02/2019 19:27

All of them.

parietal · 17/02/2019 19:27

all of them of course.

unless you want your child to be at risk of a fatal disease. and yes, measles can be fatal

RaeCJ82 · 17/02/2019 19:27

All of them. I would rather a few moments of discomfort and a day or two of high temperature than risk my daughter dying from a disease that could have been prevented!

HelloJackieYouLookNice · 17/02/2019 19:28

All of them. Plus chicken pox

SpanielPlusToddler · 17/02/2019 19:28

All of the ones in the nhs vaccine schedule and I paid for them to have the chicken pox vaccine because it isn’t offered in this country, although many other countries do.

Nicecupofcoco · 17/02/2019 19:28

All of them! It's safer to have them than not.

SalrycLuxx · 17/02/2019 19:28

All of them. Then I added extras on top.

The NHS does not give freebies. Do your kid a favour and take up the extremely valuable life protecting offer they have made.

PyjamasForever · 17/02/2019 19:28

All of them. I would never forgive myself if I put my child at risk of death from catching a preventable disease.

Cheetahssitonfajitas · 17/02/2019 19:28

All of them and I thank my lucky stars they're available to me. Thank god for clever people that have come up with ways to protect my precious human from deadly diseases.

Romanov · 17/02/2019 19:30

All of them!! FFS

ooooohbetty · 17/02/2019 19:30

All of them. So they didn't kill any other children by getting preventable diseases.

Aozora13 · 17/02/2019 19:30

All of them

In fact I’ve been pissed off that DC1 wasn’t offered BCG which is now apparently routine for DC2 (born last year)

DramaAlpaca · 17/02/2019 19:30

All of them, of course.

likablum · 17/02/2019 19:30

All of them. Hmm

WoogleCone · 17/02/2019 19:30

Absolutely every single one of them.

Arguments against are entirely flawed and based on 'science' that has been widely discredited, disproved and torn apart.

Congratulations!
