Which vaccines do you let your baby have?

Hi Everyone, I'm currently pregnant with my first (its a girl) and have recently become aware that some people don't vaccinate their children or only vaccinate them against some diseases e.g. meningitis but not others like flu or MMR.
I was just wondering if any other expectant mothers found the same thing, or if anyone has any advice!
This is a whole new world of me and I'm confused!

All of them

WeShouldOpenABar · 17/02/2019 20:09

All of them plus chicken pox, love me some vaccines, I got the hpv one in my twenties after a clear test.

JassyRadlett · 17/02/2019 20:09

You do realise you CANNOT question the current vaccination schedule in the U.K. on Mumsnet?

Of course you can! What evidence are you basing your questioning on? What studies are you using to link allergy rates to vaccines, rather than the evidence that points to other potential causes as more likely?

The fact that the NHS has not added varicella vaccine to the schedule, making it a holdout in develop countries, undermines the argument that ‘the NHS’ is pushing vaccines willy-nilly. Rather, it takes a fairly conservative approach.

ValleyoftheHorses · 17/02/2019 20:10

All of them.
I also paid privately for varicella and Men B. men B now available as standard but wasn’t then as DS is 6.
I can’t see why anyone wouldn’t. The Wakefield thing was lies and I don’t want my child to die from a preventable disease.

DrinkSangriaInThePark · 17/02/2019 20:10

All of them because I want to children to live long and heathy lives. Do some people not??

MaraScottie · 17/02/2019 20:10

All of them.

Also paid for Chicken Pox and men B too (I'm in Ireland)

HoppyHop · 17/02/2019 20:12

Urghhhh. All of them. Parents who don't vaccinate their children rely on the fact that everyone else does. Until more people don't....then what happens.
Googled the effects of the diseases if they contract them.
Probably repeating what most others have said but wasn't going to read through them all.

KMoKMo · 17/02/2019 20:13

All of them. For all the reasons everyone else has given.
We have immunosuppressed family - I’d like them to be around to see my kids grow up for as long as possible.

HavelockVetinari · 17/02/2019 20:16

For the naysayers - I've said this before, but my DSis is a paediatrician. She's seen plenty of kids die or be permanently disabled from preventable diseases, and every time it's doubly heartbreaking for the parents who know it's their fault. Sad

Gooseygoosey12345 · 17/02/2019 20:19

All of them because I don't want my children, or anyone else's children, to die of presentable diseases.

elQuintoConyo · 17/02/2019 20:36

The whole shebang cos neither DH nor I are idiots.

UnicornRainbowsRain · 17/02/2019 20:47

All of them plus extras I paid for

BIWI · 17/02/2019 20:48

Oh look! A first time poster, posting on something not at all controversial.

I have reported this thread as I don't believe you are genuine.

2ducks2ducklings · 17/02/2019 20:49

All of them!

watsmyname · 17/02/2019 20:52

@Calledyoulastnightfromglasgow May I ask what worries you about the combined vaccination compared to the three singular vaccines?

GoldenSyrupLion · 17/02/2019 20:54

All of them, FFS.

Borderterrierpuppy · 17/02/2019 20:57

All of them, and as a midwife I encourage you to have to ones offered to you in pregnancy too.
I have seen pregnant women die from flu.

Aquilla · 17/02/2019 20:59

All of them.

Fantababy · 17/02/2019 21:00

All of them + chickenpox.

chilledteacher · 17/02/2019 21:01

All of them plus BCG and paying for my DS's to have HPV privately

tenbob · 17/02/2019 21:05

All of them, plus I paid privately for the chicken pox one

I wear prepared to pay for the HPV if it hadn’t been added to the schedule in time for DS

avocadochocolate · 17/02/2019 21:07

All of them.

Children used to die of the diseases that are now covered by vaccines.

DrWhy · 17/02/2019 21:08

All of them on the NHS schedule plus chicken pox.

ninalovesdragons · 17/02/2019 21:17

All plus chicken pox. They're recommended for a reason and when you've witnessed the diseases you're vaccinating against, believe me, you wouldn't think twice.

GlitterPixie · 17/02/2019 21:18

All of them of course Hmm
