Good evening lacies Glitterball and welcome to another thread. We filled the previous one rather quickly with dog stories Grin

Hello to any new posters. Feel free to join us if you've got any sort of cancer, or if you're waiting to find out if you have it. We are always happy to share our experience and hold hands, and even happier when we get to wave goodbye to people who have had the all clear :) (please do come back and let us know either way - sometimes people just disappear into the sunset, leaving us wondering whether they were OK or not!)

It's helpful if you can post a quick (re)introduction, even if you're a regular on the thread, to save people having to remember or to refer back to previous threads. There's no need to "catch up" - just join in whenever you want to.

I wish I could articulate what a difference you've made to me over the last 18 months but I've never been good with words

This. I really hope Leslie knows what a difference she has made.

weebarra · 22/03/2019 18:55

Oh lovely Leslie. I joined this thread in October 2013 and you were the matriarch then. ❤️

Okki · 22/03/2019 18:59

I've been a lurker as well - similar reasons to @itshappened. I've wanted to post but haven't known how to put it. She's said it brilliantly.

Leslie and her family are in my thoughts as are all of you on here. Her goodness and empathy have shone through in all her posts. Hugs to all

CazY777 · 22/03/2019 19:21

Sending love to Leslie. Your kind words and support have helped me so much over the last few months, thank you

Mrstraveller · 22/03/2019 19:30

Dearest Leslie. I think of you every day xx

Borntobeamum · 22/03/2019 19:38

Oh Leslie, if our good wishes, love and prayers could heal you, we would all send extra.
Your advice has been immeasurable to all of us, and you will always be in our thoughts.

My surgery was a week last Monday and today I got the news that they had got all of my cancer. 37 lymph nodes and associated blood vessels are all cancer free. DH asked if I’d like to go out and celebrate tonight, and laughed at me when I said I’d rather stay in and think I could finally manage a 🛁.
It was delicious. Hot and full of bubbles.
I always told him I was easily pleased.
Much love to you all 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

Tahitiitsamagicalplace · 22/03/2019 19:39

Lovely TQ, I'm sorry you had to post like that. What a gut punch it was to read.

Leslie, you're a fucking superstar and I hope you know what a huge difference your kind words and helpful advice has made to this stranger on the internet. Sending you so much love and peace.

Sending love to the wonderful Leslie and strength to her amazing family. She knows how much she is loved by us. Glitterball

Leslie you are so very loved ❤️

likeazebra · 22/03/2019 20:34

Delurking to send my love to Leslie you are an inspiration to me as well as many many more people.

Your advice and support has helped me immensely and I have watched as you have helped innumerable posters who have come and gone over the last 2 and a half years.

Sending love to you and your family who I hope get the chance to read these threads at some point in the future.

Idonotlikeyoudonaldtrump · 22/03/2019 20:43

Delurking (and crying) to join in sending love to leslie and her family. What an incredible lady she is.

The impact you have made on my life is massive and I can truly say I will never forget you. I wish I had been lucky enough to know you in person.

Oh, life is so cruel and unfair.

Wishing you peace and comfort. May you be carried on this tide of love, sweetheart.

I too hope that Leslie’s family read these threads one day and see the enormity of what she has done here, all the people she has supported and the community she has brought together. She is a rare and selfless person who made the world a better place.

I haven't been on the thread in a while again (iPad not playing ball and phone a pain) but so sad to see your post TQ. Totally second what purple says about how absolutely supportive and brilliant Leslie is. Thinking of you & sending as much love as possible 💕

Taytotots · 22/03/2019 21:21

Just popping on to say Glitterball to the wonderful Leslie. Wishing you peace. Thank you so much for all your advice and support.

Born that's fantastic news. No chemo then? Enjoy your bath!

Dulce sorry you are feeling down. Nothing like a cancerversary to bring it all back. I too get told by kids I am never allowed to die. Well sometimes it's that and the others I get told I'll be sooner than daddy as I am older Hmm.

Just got the green roasting tin book recommended on here so tips for favourite recipes please.

wineoclockthanks · 22/03/2019 21:52

Another one of the many, thinking of Leslie and sending so much love and peace.

mintyneb · 22/03/2019 21:58

Thinking of you leslie. You have been such a wonderful matriarch to us all over the years

TwitterQueen1 · 22/03/2019 22:23

Just to clarify, I haven't heard anything from Leslie and maybe, maybe she'll pop up again tomorrow if she's well enough. I messaged Leslie some weeks ago to say that if would be lovely for her to see and read what people are writing about her and how much they've appreciated the help she has given. I'm hoping that perhaps her family will be reading all the messages.
Love to you Leslie. x

Cattenberg · 22/03/2019 22:49

Another delurker here. I read some of the cancer support threads after my mum was diagnosed, and they really helped. Leslie’s calmness, warmth, kindness and wisdom really shone through. I was shocked to find out how young Leslie is. She is wise beyond her years. I hope she’s comfortable and knows that many people are thinking of her.

iVampire · 22/03/2019 23:24

TQ I think I remember reading a while back that you would be the person who would pass on the difficult news at some point. I admire you for taking that on.

I’m about to order a roasting tin book too

And I must have missed something - why a Glitterball ?

All the best to you leslie

And glad you had a good day at the seaside purple

Idonotlikeyoudonaldtrump · 23/03/2019 00:19

I’m going to buy the green roasting tin book too.

I keep on reading the poem ‘Rock me to Sleep’, that Leslie posted once.

yikesanotherbooboo · 23/03/2019 04:46

Leslie,you have truly made a difference .

twoseven · 23/03/2019 07:44

Oh Leslie
You are loved

Japonicaflower2 · 23/03/2019 08:18

Leslie your warmth, humour and compassion have helped more people than you'll ever know.
A truly inspirational woman, God bless you X
