Non of them work, within 5 mintes i am as sweaty as sweaty can be and the deoderants actually seem to make me smell worse [shock[ blush].

Today for example, strappy top on, started to get a bit hot rushing round with the kids and then i remember that i haven't put my deoderant on, so of i trot to do it, but then i seem to sweat and smell more, whats that all about ??

The Pit Rock one has been mentioned before, but does it really work ?? They seem to work on me for a bit and then stop. Can't afford to keep buying different ones.

Have tried Mitchum and that worked for a while but not anymore.

And whilst i'mn on about it, is it normal to sweat so much ?? I had jeans on when out today and the back of them was soaked when i stood up.

It might be worth going to your GP about it.

NuttyMuffins · 02/06/2007 16:17

Really,? so is it not normal then ??

My mum said she used to sweat alot but not now she is older. She suggested i try using several different brands of deoderant at once, so that i don't get so used to the same ones, but even that won't work.

Wonder wether the pill i take increases sweating, will go look.

It isn't normal to sweat quite as much as you describe, Nutty .. although I admit to being a bit of a sweater myself. And so's my ds .. he's the slipperiest little toddler I've ever come across!

If Mitchums doesn't work any more, I'm at a loss. You can get sweat glands cauterized - but maybe that's a bit drastic?

Desiderata · 02/06/2007 16:22

You might want to consider taking salt tablets in the summer, as well. Until you get it resolved, you could end up with some mighty muscle cramps.

FunMumm · 02/06/2007 16:24

hi, I'm supprised that mitchum didn't work for long as it stops you sweating rather that masking the smell... are you underarms clean and dry before you apply your anti-persperant (sp)

maybe worth mentioning it to your GP

NuttyMuffins · 02/06/2007 16:27

Pill doesn't mention it as a side effect.

Was just reading about having botox injected into your sweat glands under your rms to stop you sweating, bet that costs mega bucks though.

Under arms are always clean, dry and hair free before I put deoderant on yep.

I am wondering though wether the deoderant is blocking my pores under my arms and making me sweat more, cos it seems worse after i put the deoderant on.

Ah not just me then I dont smell(I dont think) but by the time I have got ready in the morning I am sweating and need to go wipe with a flannel and reapply deodorant.
Also have had wet fanjo sensation the last few hot days in jeans.
Best mate also suffers from same thing.

Hmm...what a catch

NuttyMuffins · 02/06/2007 16:30

Ahem wet fanjo thingy here too CC, was quite tempted to strip of and stand stark naked in the garden to let the air to my bits when we got back today.

charliecat · 02/06/2007 16:32

yep Use a blokes deodorant? I do...seems to work ok, and it goes with my trucker image

NuttyMuffins · 02/06/2007 16:33

Was gonna try this one, any one used it ??

OP posts:
NuttyMuffins · 02/06/2007 16:34

I use sprays too, perhaps roll on would be better ??

OP posts:
Sugarfree · 02/06/2007 16:37

If it's bad enough Nutty you can get treatment on the NHS.

NuttyMuffins · 02/06/2007 16:38

this one says you may only need to apply once every few days .

Bloody expensive though.

BibiThree · 02/06/2007 16:38

Before I got pg I used Triple Dry roll on - quite strong stuff though. Have the same problem as you , always been very hot and sweaty

NuttyMuffins · 02/06/2007 16:38

Really sugarfree, thats worth thinking about then.

Will try another deoderant first and see how i go.

NuttyMuffins · 02/06/2007 16:40

And did it work bibi ??

OP posts:
kateyp · 02/06/2007 16:49

Try and get one with a high aluminium salt content such as driclor. you apply driclor at night and it does work but stings like buggery fuck if you put it on after shaving. you can usualy get away with using it less and less and other anti-persps inbetween.

i have same problem, plus am very senstive skinned, so it really started to inflame my skin when i used it regularly. may have to get it out again though!

Dricor is the one i suggest to patients.

you can get other tablets from your gp to help, as well as be referred for botox or even surgery if it is that bad (has to be bad as surgery for it is quite major work...) (oh and if botox available on nhs where you are - not everywherer).

hth

VoodooMama · 02/06/2007 16:51

well forget right guard then, right guard my arse!!

NuttyMuffins · 02/06/2007 16:51

Thankyou Katy, will look for Driclor too then.

SuGaRCoAteDPoiSOn · 02/06/2007 16:53

hmmm.. I have the same problem but.... it's my face that's sweaty, the rest of me is ok, any suggestions cos I hate not being able to wear make up and always looking wet n greasy and as if I've run a marathon even if all I've done is sit with a glass of water

allieBongo · 02/06/2007 16:54

i use driclor. i don't smell, but used to get very wet patches very quickly. the stinging doesn';t last forever

NuttyMuffins · 02/06/2007 17:04

Ohhh not sure about make up, do you reall really need to wear it when it is hot ??? What about a tinted moisteriser ??

Will try the driclor. Tbh i don't think i would smell if i left the deoderant off, it seems to be that which makes me smell, but as soon as i start to sweat i go put more on and then it goes round in circles then.

Thanks guys, could only ask about this here.

OP posts:
gibberish · 02/06/2007 17:08

Can you buy driclor in shops?

SuGaRCoAteDPoiSOn · 02/06/2007 17:12

I'm talking about eye pencil/mascara etc, I can't wear anything at all cos it just smudges off and looks shite - my face literally drips with sweat and it's vile
