Non of them work, within 5 mintes i am as sweaty as sweaty can be and the deoderants actually seem to make me smell worse [shock[ blush].

Today for example, strappy top on, started to get a bit hot rushing round with the kids and then i remember that i haven't put my deoderant on, so of i trot to do it, but then i seem to sweat and smell more, whats that all about ??

The Pit Rock one has been mentioned before, but does it really work ?? They seem to work on me for a bit and then stop. Can't afford to keep buying different ones.

Have tried Mitchum and that worked for a while but not anymore.

And whilst i'mn on about it, is it normal to sweat so much ?? I had jeans on when out today and the back of them was soaked when i stood up.

It is on the Boots website gibberish.

Could you not wear a clear mascara and no eyeliner SCP ?? I am no help really, as I only wear the minimum of make up when it's hot.

Thanks Nutty.

PeckaRolloverAgain · 02/06/2007 18:31

DRICLOR every time

stings like f**k when you first apply it but totally does the job

you will NOT sweat after using this for about a week.

i get sweaty pits and using driclor DRY as a bone

gibberish · 02/06/2007 18:34

How old do you have to be to use it? Just asking as my teen (almost 14) is really suffering... I don't want her using anything too strong and the standard anti-persperants just aren't working. She is miserable. I tell her it's just her age, but I'm not much better and left my teens a LONG time ago.

SueW · 02/06/2007 18:40

Doesn't sweat have to come out somewhere?

I'm sure I have heard of people who have underarm sweat glands cauterised/botoxed find they sweat more say from their back, chest, face, etc

drosophila · 02/06/2007 18:58

Is is sweating or smell that is the problem.

I saw a GP on TV and she was answering this question. Apparently there are various procedures you can do and if all else fails Botox paralyses the sweat glands.

Furball · 02/06/2007 19:02

Yep I'm he same as well since having ds 5 years ago. Have come across Mitchum spray which works great. The stick and the roll on didn't.

SuGaRCoAteDPoiSOn · 02/06/2007 19:03

it's not even the make up n stuff so much, it's just horrible having a dripping wet face all the time.. it looks bad and people think your whole body is like that even if it isn't

MegaLegs · 02/06/2007 19:07

I've just started using the TripleDry one and so far it is working well, (the last few months I have been really sweaty, I reckon it's hormonal). It is expensive but you don't need to use it everyday.

It takes a bit of getting used to as you only put it on at night, then shower in morning, I carried a spray deoderant around with me all last week just incase but i didn't need it. Have been impressed so far.

MegaLegs · 02/06/2007 19:08

My sister says her perspiration smells less since she stopped drinking coffee, I need my coffee so I won't be trying that.

NuttyMuffins · 02/06/2007 20:21

Megalegs - So you put in on at night and then shower it off in the morning but it still works ??

kateyp -pmsl, I'd love it if my GP said "try this but it'll sting like buggery fuck"

madoldcatlady · 02/06/2007 20:32

I definately smell more after eating spicy foods.

Also, my head sprouts leaks like a watering can! Sweat runs down my face and my hair gets soaked.

I've recently been diagnosed with an overactive thyroid and excessive sweating can be a symptom of that. I'll have to wait and see if the medication helps.

Wilkie · 02/06/2007 20:32

Furball - it's not just me then? Since I had DS 20 weeks ago I sweat SO much under my pits - it's so embarrassing and leaves sweat marks on my clothes. Doesn't tend to smell though.

colditz · 02/06/2007 20:37

I use a mitchum stick while armpits still slightly damp from shower and shave - it lasts at least 24h

gibberish · 02/06/2007 20:41

I'm sick of it. Shower ever morning and by evening need another one. Have to watch what I wear to work as some clothes (man made) have a tendency to smell a bit, even though I am so conscious of being scrupulously clean. It's only at work that I sweat though, probably due to being harassed and stressed... Thank goodness for this thread - going to try everything!

scatterbrain · 02/06/2007 20:57

Me too - another sweaty betty ! Currently using Perspirex which sounds very much like Driclor - does the job very well ! Does sting on shaved armpits so you have to work out routine - shave today, Perspirex tomorrow night etc - but absoilutely DRY armpits ! No wet patches - it is superb !

Got it in Boots - not sure if it is online too - was about £6.50 and lasts for ages - you need to use it every 2 to 3 nights !

frascati · 02/06/2007 20:58

Pecka ~ glad to hear that my tip on Driclor worked

I only put it on twice a year now and what a difference. I am no longer a sweaty Betty

Malaleche · 02/06/2007 20:59

i use one of those crystal ones from the health food shop, it works for me and DP.

kateyp · 02/06/2007 21:49

bettyspaghetti - only special patients get the special 'buggery fuck' treatment. The rest get a very polite, nice, kind doctor to talk to...!

I've used Triple Dry for a few years and it works for me. No more wet patches

You apply it at night (3 or 4 nights in a row then every other night) wash it off in the morning and hey presto.

My mum also used Triple Dry and she's stopped using it now and jus uses Sure for men and she doesn't sweat any more. My brother uses it too and its worked for him (we're a sweaty family lol)

Phoenix · 02/06/2007 22:05

If you don't wash it off and apply normal deodrant on top of it it begins to sting as my brother found out when he didn't read the instructions properly.

saffy202 · 02/06/2007 22:06

I use the triple dry spray. Have tried the others like driclor but this is the only one that seems to work for me. I use it every day as I'm another sweaty betty

I remember going on a driving lesson wearing combat pants and when I got out of the car it looked like I'd wet myself but I do find stressful situations make it worse.

Phoenix · 02/06/2007 22:08

Oh and re the cost of it i use my advantage card points to buy it from Boots or last month i got 2 bottles from Superdrug for £4.99 each
