Okay my first day and all going well, like the lasck of mess, can get the thingy in okay, blood not as bad as I thought

BUT

the getting it out suction thing - that is weird - it feels all weird - how do I stop that feeling that my whole fandango is going to be turned inside out?

squeeze the bottom of the mooncup and then gently ease it out easing out one side first and then the other not just tugging at the whole thing.

It does get easier.

phew - thought it was just me - it does make me feel oh so odd!

I squeeze, twist and gently pull. Feels slightly less scary than the standard pinch and pull manouvre

Another vote for squeezing the base then trying to pull it out at an angle, like fuzzywuzzy describes

Yes I agree squeeze and kind of tilt it so the suction is released on one side first

tbh I am usually quite impatient and usually pull it too fast but you do get used to it

right in teh middle of my period it becomes really mucousy. if you're careful taking the mooncup out you can see it's separated like a vinaigrette.

The separation is impressive and also useful. I have had leaks (though not many) with my mooncup but they're not nearly so bad because it seems to be the mucousy layer that comes out. I'm almost boaking as I type this btw but still in awe at the wonder that is the mooncup .

Question while you're about Franny - I got the larger size mooncup based on the age advice. Now that I've given birth will it still fit me or do they do an even bigger size for the more mature, fanjolly lax lady?

my friend is an uber hippy and I told her about my moon cup and she suggested I (GULP!) get a jar and put it in the freezer and empty the mooncup into it and then when it is full use it on the allotment

when I registered my she said "well if you don't want to use it can you save t for me."
