Skin tag self removal

I’ve got a small skin tag under my eye. I’ve had it for years.

Whenever I’m tired and rub my eyes a lot it can look red and a bit bruised- it’s hanging by the tiniest bit of skin. If I pull the tag (it’s quite dangly now) you can see how small the skin is.

I’m so tempted to tie a piece of cotton around it with the hope that it drops off.

Has anyone done this? I’m off work now for 2 weeks so an ideal time to do it.

I doubt my GP will do anything as it’s classed as cosmetic.

It's just fallen off.

I touched it and that was it. I can't believe I've had it all these years, caught mascara and make up on it, rubbed it and made it sore and within 3 days it's gone with no discomfort or pain!

DP is now saying he thinks he should retrain as a surgeon after his expert cotton application Grin

Brilliant! Did it hurt during the time it was tied?
I asked my DH is he would snip mine off this morning and he refused! So debating tieing one off....

smartiecake I could tell it was tied for the first 24 hours, it wasn't painful just a sensation. By this morning I could tell it was 'dead' & had been starved of all blood.

Honestly if your tag has a very slight bit of skin attached I'd just use the cotton. I'm amazed!

If it's got a wider base then I'm not so sure.
