Gross picture sorry- is this a corn or a verrucca?

I've had it for months and always just thought it was a callous or something. It's recently seemed to grow really quickly and today has been painful to walk on.

It looks like a verruca to me, but it sticks up and out and is hard like a corn, but I've never had a corn so I don't really know.

I'm abroad and finding a podiatrist that has good English is difficult, so wanted opinions on whether it's a home remedy job or not!

And also I'm sorry for the picture of my gross feet. Envy

I would say verucca.

HermioneWeasley · 25/03/2018 14:01

Id say verruca too because of dark dots

Scotsmum2017 · 25/03/2018 14:02

Verucca

BarbieBrightSide · 25/03/2018 14:04

It's a verruca, ds's was like this

snoooop · 25/03/2018 17:14

Even though it sticks out, not in? Sad

I suppose I need to order a bucket of Bazooka

Yes, even though it sticks out. Poor Ds had his for ages but once it started going it went very quickly.

We ended up with bazooka type stuff, I think we used a corn plaster to give some comfort and then putting duct tape over the top. We re-did this every couple of days. I've got some pictures, but they aren't in proper focus, hang on, I'll see if I can share

BarbieBrightSide · 25/03/2018 17:28

Here is his before we started treating it

BarbieBrightSide · 25/03/2018 17:29

The picture hasn't worked, I'll try again

BarbieBrightSide · 25/03/2018 17:31

Poor boy had one on each foot and once they started to go, he had horrid looking craters in his feet, but they soon healed (I've got some pictures of those, too - closet sporner here!)

Chanelprincess · 25/03/2018 17:31

Looks like a verucca - it has a raised 'cauliflower' appearance with a black spot.

xyzandabc · 25/03/2018 17:32

Verucca. File it down, paint dark nail varnish over it. Cover with plaster. Repeat daily or whenever nail varnish wears off. It should be gone within a fortnight.

Theory is the same as covering it with duct tape, it starved the verruca of light and oxygen but we never managed to get duct tape to stay on, sweaty feet made it not stick properly.

Scotsmum2017 · 25/03/2018 17:32

If you can go for the liquid nitrogen removal instead of bazooka. My DD had a cerulean that just wouldn’t go away, one dose of the liquid nitrogen and it was off within the week.

Scotsmum2017 · 25/03/2018 17:33

Verucca not carulean, blooming autocorrect!!

AndysComing · 25/03/2018 17:34

This is DS's when he finally decided to show me.. Lord knows how long he had it for before that! And second pic is after a week of bazuka. There's stuff you can use to freeze it and apparently it falls off within 2 weeks.

AndysComing · 25/03/2018 17:36

Pictures would help!

snoooop · 25/03/2018 17:38

Ugh all these pictures are amazingly disgusting!

Looks like I need to buy duct tape, Bazooka, and nail varnish?!

I hope it goes, but I'm worried about the crater it will leave. It feels massive!

Cakemadeoffruit · 25/03/2018 17:39

Mine was like that and I used the Scholl freezing spray. Apart from I held it on and used it more regularly that it advises but it came off. It turned into a brown ball which I pulled off with no pain. It left a huge crater, but healed nicely and I don't even have a mark there now.

TheFillijonk · 25/03/2018 17:43

Verucca - I have two patches like that. The chiropodist said that they were made up of lots of tiny veruccas so not suitable for freezing. She advised filing them down and using Glutarol... it is slowly working.

ineedamoreadultieradult · 25/03/2018 17:45

Verucca. I got rid of.mine by soaking it in a hot bath and digging around with tweezers until I could pull the black bits out.

Roomba · 25/03/2018 19:02

Verruca. Just like the one I had as a child and the ones DS1 got when he was little. Bazooka sorted DS's brilliantly never to return. I had a bottle of Salicylic Acid dabbed on mine - from Boots but no idea whether you can still buy it like that. That's the same active ingredient as Bazooka IIRC and it worked very quickly. Never had another since.

BarbieBrightSide · 25/03/2018 19:14

Do you want some crater pics? Happy to provide if yes
It soon went flat once it started to go.

snoooop · 25/03/2018 19:37

Yes please! The more complete sequence the better, at least I know what I'm in for!

BarbieBrightSide · 25/03/2018 19:49

Right, I'm not sure that the dates are accurate and apologies for the blurred ones
The one I posted before was 02/01
Then these 2 from 05/01

BarbieBrightSide · 25/03/2018 19:50

And 2 more from 16/01

Really smelly, but has worked for us (years ago now) is garlic. Slice of garlic sellotaped to the verucca overnight. remove in morning. After 3-4 nights verucca will just pull out. Yum!
