Breast lump !

Morning lovely ladies.
On friday I found a lump at the base of my right breast .. I’ve had a cyst before and this feels TOTALLY different.
I’m consumed with panic, I have a beautiful, darling, amazing 7 month old!
Phoning the GP tomorrow, should I ask for a same day appointment ? Routine appointments take 4-6 weeks at my surgery.
Feel sick with worry!

Sorry that should be Stage 2 Grade 2.

Rtpx · 22/03/2018 14:31

Oops so sorry for the late reply !
I went to gp and she agreed could feel the lump. She’s referred me to the breast clinic with a 2ww referral Sad but said not to read too much into that, and that if she didn’t do a 2ww referral it’d be up to a 16ww. She was really nice and said she can’t rule anything out or confirm anything without an ultrasound but said that 90% of all 2ww referrals for lumps turn out to be nothing to worry about. Haven’t had an appointment through yet for the breast clinic though Sad and I’m still worried obviously !!

I used to get emails when someone replied but haven’t been getting any so haven’t been checking, thought I’d have a look and saw lots of replies Shock x x x

Glad you have seen your gp.

I have appt at the hospital next Wed following my referral so not too long to wait. I seem to alternate though between being being calm and upbeat to sheer panic!

Panickyarse · 22/03/2018 17:39

I hope you don't mind me joining your thread but I'm going through similar. My right breast is suddenly larger than my left so I went to see the doctor today and she has referred me to the breast clinic to be seen in 2 weeks as she says the lymph nodes under my arm are enlarged.

I'm not in panic mode yet but the worry is definitely starting to set in!

Kahlua4me · 22/03/2018 22:12

The worry sets in pretty quick doesn’t it? I am okay, although am checking it constantly to see if it has changed at all.

How did you get on today pinkoneblueone? Did you get answers straight away? Hope all went well for you.

HMC2000 · 22/03/2018 22:28

Hi ladies just sending some good vibes and loads of luck. I've done the clinic (they did mammo, ultrasound, needle biopsy) and there were loads of women in a huge waiting room all doing the same rounds. All the others came out smiling. The vast majority tested do not have cancer, so the odds are very much that it won't be, and it is always best to get checked. Like McZeba, I was one of the few who did have cancer: I had an aggressive grade 3 cancer, but it was caught early, and 6 years later, I'm still here, working, nagging DD to get ready for school, and arguing with DH over the telly remote. I even still have my boobs! So hang on in there and don't let your imagination run away with you. FlowersCake

counttotenandbreathe · 22/03/2018 23:19

hmc that's a lovely message glad to hear you are doing well. I definitely calmer than I was but I go through moments of panic still. I must check my boobs 10+ times again and also my armpits neck groin etc etc. Hoping everything is ok but going to ask what exactly I'm feeling for in MY breasts as I have now decided they are lumpy!! I want to say goodbye to this episode but clearly still need to check myself but don't want to be obsessive. Good luck to anyone who has there apps soon

Kahlua4me · 23/03/2018 06:25

Thank you hmc2000 that’s lovely and calming. Glad to hear you are doing well.

Rtpx · 26/03/2018 11:26

Thank you hmc !

How’s everyone getting on? My little one has been keeping me busy busy busy but every now and again I get that sinking panicky feeling when I remember about it! Tomorrow morning can’t come soon enough ! X

Best of luck for tomorrow Flowers

Kahlua4me · 26/03/2018 13:17

Good luck for tomorrow rtpx. Mine appt is on Wednesday.

I seem to be obessessed at the moment, constantly feeling the lump in the hope it has vanished, as well as reading everything I can.

I do have lots to keep me busy but finding it hard to concentrate.

counttotenandbreathe · 26/03/2018 13:25

Good luck tomorrow rtpx mine is also tomorrow. Feeling a lot more optimistic in these last couple of days. Will update tomorrow night hopefully with a happy story to build everyone's confidence.

Panickyarse · 26/03/2018 14:58

Still waiting for my appointment although it has only been 5 days since being referred. I will be keeping everything crossed for you ladies with appointments tomorrow and eagerly awaiting updates FlowersSmile

counttotenandbreathe · 27/03/2018 15:54

Okay ladies just to let you know I got an all clear and discharged. I had a mammogram ultrasound and physical examination and they said it was breast tissue and milk nodules. No problem so relieved. Hope rptx you are good yoo

Panickyarse · 27/03/2018 16:09

That's brilliant news Counttoten Smile

My appointment is a week on Friday... was hoping for a bit sooner, but it is within the 2 weeks so I can't complain - especially with Easter being this week.

Hope your appointment has gone as well too rptx Flowers

Kahlua4me · 27/03/2018 23:05

Brilliant news, counttoten. You must feel so relieved.hooe you were okay too rtpx

My appt is tomorrow so hoping for good news too. I had a long chat with my aunt today who had stage 3 breast cancer. I feel calmer as hers was aggressive too and she is still here 25 years later! Still worried but better than I was...

Glad you have your appt date set panickyarse and hope your results are good too.

Panickyarse · 27/03/2018 23:13

Thank you Kahlua4me and good luck for tomorrow Smile

Kahlua4me · 28/03/2018 10:39

I am fine 😀

It was a cyst, needle went in and 10ml of brown gunk popped out! What a relief.

KatyMac · 28/03/2018 10:47

When you find a lump do you see the GP stright away or wait and see if it's still there later in your 'month' iyswim?

MinnieMinchkin · 28/03/2018 11:19

Katy, you can see the GP as soon as you are concerned. Both times I went I waited until I was sure I felt something, as my breasts do change a fair bit during the month, but you don't need to wait if you are worried. Good luck!

Kahlua, I'm so pleased to hear that! It must have been quite satisfying (although possibly disconcerting) to get that out Smile

Count, I'm please you have the all clear, too Smile

How are Rtpx and Pink?

Hang in there, Panicky xx

Kahlua4me · 28/03/2018 11:45

katymac, I went to my gp straight away. Mainly due to my aunt and cousin having breast cancer, but I was worried and didn’t want to wait.

He felt the lump and referred me that day. My appt as the hospital was 10 days after I saw him so not long to wait, although it felt like ages!

Doctor at the hospital was lovely and said she would much rather see hundreds of women with cysts, than one who has advanced cancer because she thought she should wait.

Any news rtpx, hope all is good with you.

Kahlua4me · 28/03/2018 11:48

It was quite disconcerting minnie. It seemed like a huge amount to me although the doctor said she has seen much bigger amounts!
