To visit the walk in centre?

The top of my bumcrack has a small white/flesh coloured spot on it and although it looks insignificant, it is stinging like mad and I can barely sit. AIBU to go to the walk in centre? I can't take a minute more of this and what's worse is that I am on my period :(

I really hope it is just skin irritation as I know scratches/rashes can hurt a lot if they are inside such a delicate area. Pharmacist did say she couldn't visibly see any growths but that doesn't mean anything. I honestly don't know how I am going to get through till Monday as am so concerned it is now anal cancer after reading the posts from people who had it. I might try a support helpline or something as I know I will work myself up into a panic attack.

I had the same a couple of weeks ago, stung like a Bugger but not much to see. Showed the pharmacist and got rid of it with sudocrem but it took about 5days.

Lovely - please stop. Just stop right now.

You have shown this to two people and two people have told you they can't see anything. One of those people is medically trained and both have the advantage of being able to take a whole lot closer look than you.

You have allowed your anxiety to take hold of you and it's not going to stop until you stop googling and look reassurance.

I know this - I presented at the walk I n center with throat cancer . It was my tonsils Blush

The nurse booked me to see te Gp immediately as an emergency referral for ANXIETY.

You know you have this so just focus on feeling better. Distract yourself with a book (if you can concentrate) or rubbjsh tv. Whatever will take your mind off it.

Then please Pease go to your Dr and get sorted out. You don't have to live like this.

I've been in that horrible cycle and its shit. I uderstand. Ive presented at the doctor with all sorts of deadly conditions which of course I didn't have.

LEM, thank you for not judging. I guess my main worry is that the cyst was missed by the pharmacist and that it could also be internal piles as they can't be seen. I am really going to stuggle until Monday and am alone so have nobody to talk to about my concerns.

Sudocrem will help and possibly some hydrocortisone cream if tere are no tears in te skin.

I know it's just awful but you have to tell yourself it will pass. Have you spoken to your gp about your anxiety? I ended up on medication. It really helped.

In all honesty how you feel right now WILL calm down tonight. Your body can only "do" stress for a limited time before it negatively feeds back on the adrenalin and surpresses it.

Do you have any cammomile tea? Tastes like sick but it works. Also rescue remedy? Could you pop to the shop and pick some up?

Using lots of sudocream, it is gentle enough for babies so won't do any harm. A weird/worrying thing is I am not so sore standing up but I am when lying or sitting on soft chairs or my bed. I find that disconcerting.

I have some rescue remedy pastilles and aromatherapy pulse point gel. Will try those.

Thank you. You are very kind.

Listen to LEM, she is wise.

Have you seen anybody about the anxiety before? It does seem quite severe.

In the meantime, do whatever it takes to distract yourself. Read some funny threads in classics, ask MNers for links to funny YouTube clips, put on a favourite film or TV show. You will make it through until Monday.

Not surprising it hurts more when you set. It's umm. Getting more stretched Smile

Those pastilles are great. Tell me about the pulse point oil? That sounds like something I might benefit from

Internal piles would be actually up your anus, not at the top of your bum crack, please try to stop worrying so much. You are not dying.

Please please please try to stop worrying and stop Googling. See your Dr on Monday and hopefully they will be able to put your mind at rest xx

This is painful to read. Please seek help for your anxiety.

It sounds like a pilinoidal abscess. Sudocream won’t help you need antibiotics and I wouldn’t wait til Monday. But if it’s really painful have you taken painkillers? Start with paracetamol and ibuprofen. If that doesn’t help swap the ibuprofen for neurofen plus.

It may just be a infected spot , but you must get it seen to soon , as for been on your period this will mot concern them one bit , they will of seen this 100000s of times , please go to your local walk in or a pharmacist ( I have always found the Boots staff fantastic )

I get a itchy sore in this place and discovered it is an allergic reaction to soap or shampoo that I didn’t rinse off completely. It weeps and is awful if I let it go too long. I have discovered all I need to do is wash the area several times a day with pure water and dry and it clears up within days. Products/creams make it much worse.

My son confessed to me he had an embarrassing problem above his bum and it turns out he has the same reaction as me to any soap/shampoo etc. I told him what to do and he is fine now.

Op you need to see your GP for your anxiety. Once you go off this then there will be another thing you think is cancer.

You do not have anal cancer. You dont even have a cyst. You self diagnosed piles and habe maybe irritated yourself with somwthing in the cream. Wash with tepid water and a flannel, dry properly and put sudocrem on.

I too op have health anxiety. Yours is more extreme than mine but honestly i found a bump on one of my piercings and becane convinced i had cancer on my face. Sore knee is instantly cancer to me. Please dont let this go on. Its a genuinely disabilitting illness health anxiety and you dont need to suffer.

Report
Bumdishcloths · 02/12/2017 22:19

Right.

Other posters, please stop diagnostics - not helpful.

@Sienna333 STOP TOUCHING IT/LOOKING AT IT/STRETCHING THE SKIN - the more you do this, the more inflamed and sore the area will get. Go to your appointment on Monday and address the anxiety.

For the record: internal piles, external piles, anal cancer etc DO NOT present in the crack of your arse because the crack of your arse is not your anus, which is the sphincter from which you defecate.

I have seen a pharmacist and she said it wasn't a cyst. I can see a tiny white spot but she couldn't. It's been over a week so surely if it was that, it would be all red and inflamed by now to the point where I wouldn't be able to function (I would hope).
I know I sound crazy this anxiety but all the anxieties are real to me. Right now I am panicking that the pharmacist may have missed the cyst and that I
have anal cancer. It's going to be very hard to distract myself. :(

Lm I use a tisserand 'Sweet dreams' pulse point gel. It help relaxes me not just at night but also during the day when I am anxious.

Believe it or not, I never used to have health anxiety until I had a mystery diarrhoea virus which went on for weeks and from then on I started worrying I had all manner of chronic diseases such as bowel and anal cancer, diverticulosis and crohns and UC. It is exhausting and highly distressing even if it seems crazy to those around me, it feels very real in my head and sends me into a total panic.

You don't sound crazy, you sound anxious. I get splits there. The skin is very fine and easily torn. It's stings like nobody's business!! Keep it clean, use sudocreme, and leave it alone. It also helps to dry that but with a hairdryer after a shower.
