How much weight do I need to lose (pic included)

fatbernie · 16/07/2017 16:51

I don't want to weigh myself as I'm worried what will come up. I don't want to depress myself.

I think I'm around two-three stone overweight but I'm not sure.

I know you can't tell by just looking at a pic but roughly how much do you think I'd need to lose to be a normal healthy weight?

I am 5ft6.

Can't believe I'm posting a bikini pic but I need advice and have nowhere in 'real life' to get it.

Your arms look nice and overall you're not too bad. I'd say a couple of stone or two and a half stone.
But if you manage to lose half a stone it's an achievement.

There's no way on earth I'd post a bikini shot of myself. Grin

Haha. Well my face is cut out. No one knows who I am

Id say about 2 1/2 stone

TheCatsWhiskers · 16/07/2017 17:10

Hi, first of all well done for being so brave!

I think you need to focus less on the overall loss but just taking a target of a couple of pounds, then focus on 4 pounds etc. It works for me anyway!

I take photos once a month to see how I'm maintaining, or losing as required.

I would be reluctant to say a stone total as it's very hard to tell from a photo.

I think you would need to target the stomach area for toning, i.e. Sit ups, plank. Davina's DVDs are really good for this.

You have great arms and a defined waist, I think with short intense exercise you'll notice a massive difference.

Good luck, hope this helps.

Vanillamanilla1 · 16/07/2017 17:11

Your arms and shoulders are a god shape and don't look flabby

letitgo1234 · 16/07/2017 17:12

I don't even think you need to lose weight probably just tone up a bit you look perfect weight to me Smile

ragz134 · 16/07/2017 17:12

Without knowing height it's hard to tell, a stone or stone and a half?

TractorTedTed · 16/07/2017 17:13

I'd say aim for a stone and then see.

Elllicam · 16/07/2017 17:13

I think you look similar to me and I'm aiming to lose a stone.

delilahbucket · 16/07/2017 17:14

I think you look like me, although I am slightly shorter than you. Bearing that in mind, I am about a stone heavier than I want to be, but 6lbs over a healthy BMI.

Piratesandpants · 16/07/2017 17:14

You need to tell us a bit more about what you want to be!? Curvy? Slim? Skinny?

fatbernie · 16/07/2017 17:19

I think I'm a little under a stone overweight medically. But to be my ideal weight I'd like to lose a stone and a half. Two stone would be amazing but then I'd be a little too slim maybe.

I'd like to be a size 10.

Maybe 2 stone? But you might find that more exercise will help you tone up and you might worry less about your overall size then.

Don't panic you're not a million miles away from where you should be.

Have you had kids?

Aquamarine1029 · 16/07/2017 17:33

I think you should aim for a stone, and at the same time do toning exercises. You certainly don't have far to go and you already look great.

toffeeboffin · 16/07/2017 17:35

Two stone. You'll be da bomb if you lose that 😀

Rockchick1984 · 16/07/2017 18:02

What dress size are you currently? I'm your height, and one stone = one dress size roughly for me. I'm a bit bigger than you and currently around 13st, I reckon you are about a stone lighter than me!

fatbernie · 16/07/2017 18:12

I'm a 12/14. More a 12 though. I think I'm a little under 12 stone.

Fairylea · 16/07/2017 18:15

You look just like me Grin I bet you are about 11.5 stone. I am the same height as you.

mistermagpie · 16/07/2017 19:36

I wouldn't focus on an amount seeing as you don't know what you weigh anyway, but what I do is choose a dress or pair of jeans in the size I want to be and work towards fitting into them. I've been fat and thin so have clothes in various sizes! I find this approach stops me getting hung up on 'numbers' and let's me focus on how I'll feel when I'm wearing the 'goal' item.

FWIW if you want a number I think for somebody of your size (not that big) then 2 stone would make a big difference.

AnnieOnAMapleLeaf · 16/07/2017 19:44

I think you look gorgeous! I would kill to have your body. It just goes to show you that most people are never entirely satisfied with their bodies. If you are unhappy with the way you look then maybe try toning a little bit as others have suggested. Again, I think you have a lovely figure.

dementedma · 16/07/2017 19:46

its just your tummy, the rest of you looks great. A stone, tops.

Piratesandpants · 16/07/2017 20:46

If you want to be a size 10, I reckon a stone and a half. Agree with he others, you have a lovely shape currently and would also look fab a smaller size.

I'd say you need to
Lose a stone. You look a similar shape to me and you are similar height.

Tanfastic · 16/07/2017 22:25

I'm a 12/14 too. I'm
About 2.5 pound over the top of my bmi but if I lost another stone I'd be a small 12.
