HELP! anyone know what red rash white spots are?

appeared on ds last 15 minutes (NHS direct to call back er, 2 hours or so)

red patches, mainly neck, bit of forearm, small bit on leg w/ raised white spots..

he seems fine, not eating much but chuntering away as normal..
?chickenpox? something else?

grateful for any help, TIA

..he's much better (rash is alot less and seems to come and go!) but ...he's full of beans as ever...me,..well, am nervous wreck!
had real lazy day to recover!

the nhs folk did get back, sooner than stated suppose they cover themselves...they were useful as it saved a nightmare trip to a&e..
she said sometimes colds can end in rash as virus works it's way out of body..i of course had imagined i had 45 minutes to find the cause before disaster strikes!!...
Dh rolled in from work at 9.45 (its round the clock at his place at the moment) with this priton syrup, ds strangely woke up then and of course refused to take it..bit more calpol and we all got a nights sleep..

...boy, was shattered this morning...hence lazy day..
