Dangerous ideas about Rhesus negative blood type

I have heard various people online and in RL expressing the opinion that they feel they are immune to disease because they are Rh neg. I'm here to tell them they're wrong!

These people are probably spreading STIs around because they think they can't get them. Where does this ridiculous idea come from?

Hmmm well I’m RH negative and according to notes left behind by my mum I’ve had measles, mumps, whooping cough & german measles as a child (pre vaccine days for some of these). Other than that pretty healthy, except I’m also HIV positive.

Now AFAIK an Elite Controller (aka Long Term Non Progressor) is not necessarily someone for whom the virus cannot attach itself to their white blood cells (specifically the CD4 cells) as although there are some who consistently show an undetectable viral load, it’s still shows as detectable every so often, before the body manages to suppress it again. Therefore there has to be some sort of replication going on, and the virus has to get into the CD4 cells in order to make copies of itself.

So, while this might be true, @cubbiesqueezes, there’s got to be more to it. Oh, and the 2 ECs aI know of are both female!

I’d be interested to see the link please of the trials that are about to start, and also info re the Thai person that is showing some immunity? I have heard that some people do not possess the co receptors on their CD4 cells, but hadn’t heard it being tied into being RH neg.

My posting has nothing referring to other diseases except HIV. I also have a theory about Zika. You are the 1st person to finally prove somewhat of my point that RH- human beings are Elite Controllers but I need to find more RH- to prove my theory. The trials were told me to me by word of mouth locally due to being part of a PREP study and I'm moving up the process to take the human trials of the HIV vaccine. There was no subtext that I despise females and I would appreciate if you didn't try to underhand my post with subtext about gender shaming me as I haven't done anything wrong but post information I have searched out and located. There is also a news package of a female HIV positive human being that has been unaffected by HIV for 23 years if you search youtube with Elite Controllers HIV.

Hate to say it but I actually disprove your theory. I’m RH neg, HIV pos, but not an EC. My virus is held at undetectable levels by the meds I take each day.

That’s interesting...you say neg. and you are moving up the process for human trials.....so are they trialling a vaccine version of PrEP? I know things are looking good in the trials for the vaccine for HIV pos people.

Nope I neither stated nor inferred anything whatsoever that you despise women and no attempt either at gay shaming - don’t know how you read that wrong. I merely said I know 2 women who are ECs, and although I have no idea if they are RH pos or neg, they might be interested in these trials. - and possibly in taking part.

As for the YouTube videos, there’s loads on HIV and ECs. I’m genuinely very interested in any trials and theories, but only from credible sources. I’m not saying yours isn’t, just that there’s a load of incorrect info out there too.
