Bloody good news re DH's brain tumour

just been to doctor with DH and Doctor brought up Dh's hospital letter which states that they believe he has a low grade Glioma type tumour, which is the best news asthese are non cancerous and slow growing.
it does rather beg the question why they did not tell us this at the hospital. they just sent him home saying it was a brain tumour but to risky to do a biopsy, come back for a rescan in three months time.
is it too early for wine?

Definitely NOT too early for wine.

JackieNo · 28/02/2007 12:28

Never too early for wine, when you've had good news like that.

Marina · 28/02/2007 12:28

Never too early for wine in these circumstances. I am so sorry you were given such a misleadingly upsetting initial prognosis onlyjoking. Cheers

Saturn74 · 28/02/2007 12:29

foxinsocks · 28/02/2007 12:39

thank goodness you went!

great news

onlyjoking9329 · 28/02/2007 12:48

yes at the moment i am just happy we went but once i have stopped smiling i may get angry that the hospital did not tell us.

OP posts:
foxinsocks · 28/02/2007 12:51

yes, I can imagine you'd be angry

I think, if you can be bothered, it might be an idea to write a letter of complaint (think you can do it via the PALS service at the hospital - maybe you can do it over the phone, I don't know) just pointing out that you were never given that very important information.

MrsSpoon · 28/02/2007 12:53

Not too early for wine after good news like that.

doots · 28/02/2007 12:54

Glad for the good news, at hospital. Sometimes you do wonder...a friend of mine was in hospital a few weeks ago. The wife of the man in the next bed was told in front of the entire ward (not even curtain round the bed)that they weren't going to pursue any further treatment as he was only going to last a few more days

onlyjoking9329 · 28/02/2007 12:54

i may complain at some point, but am busy being happy at the moment.
some thing don't change DH still has a brain tumour and will need treatment of some sort but it would have been so nice to know that we it wasn't cancerous

OP posts:
onlyjoking9329 · 28/02/2007 12:56

thats terrible doots, we at least had the curtains drawn around the bed, the timing was crap thou, DH was just unwrapping his birthday pressies
