Would you see a doctor?

I am currently unable to speak. I want to but I can't. I'm certain this is due to the stress and upset I have had this year. I also have panic attacks and shake a lot. This is the fourth time it has happened this month.

Medically I am having a lot of stomach pains and also have symptoms for a neuro endocrine tumour and I will ask for the blood test to check when I see the surgeon next month as the appointment was for the stomach pains and no one knows the new symptoms. I thought I was pre menopausal but blood tests said not but the not speaking is unsettling.

I will see what the doctor says but I'm not staying in them for long if the numbness stays.

And now my youngest is as white as a sheet with a temp of 38.3. I've never seen any child that white before.

I took paroxetine this time last year. It made me feel very sick and faint. I actually fainted the morning after the first dose the night before. My GP suggested taking half dose for a week and then increasing it, which definitely helped.

So, some of what you're feeling now could be due to the medication.

Goingtobeawesome · 05/01/2017 18:19

Ok. Did it take long to get used to it?

OP posts:
tygr · 05/01/2017 19:47

After the initial few days when the side effects were unbearable, I stopped taking it. Then after seeing GP, I was on half dose (10mg) for about a week to ten days and then went up to 20mg and I don't remember any problems doing it that way. I had to stop taking it for other reasons.

Hope you feel better soon. Have you tried any mindfulness meditation/ guided relaxation exercises? There are some on YouTube.

Goingtobeawesome · 05/01/2017 21:29

I'm on 20mg. Can't remember how many days I've been on them but less than a week. It's th not knowing if I'll feel better and it's worth carrying on as I don't want to take them as the benefits don't outway the negatives.

OP posts:
tygr · 05/01/2017 21:50

When I was taking them the depression I was experiencing lifted and anxiety was the best it's been in a long time. I wanted to keep taking them due to the reduction in anxiety but unfortunately they're contraindicated for me due to another condition so I had to stop.

I'd give them a good go before deciding.

Goingtobeawesome · 06/01/2017 11:02

I'll carry on with them though I'm not sleeping very well and still feel out of it. Dh said this morning he remembered I didn't slept well when I was on deiffer to ADs years ago.

Sorry to hear DC is poorly. I hope your meds settle soon, and that you have good investigative appointments.

Goingtobeawesome · 06/01/2017 17:35

I now have two poorly children and a poorly puppy...

I need to keep going as everything will fall apart if I get ill as well and puppy will refuse to go out for a walk mummy's girl

I find that quite helpful, up to a point. If I didn't have people relying on me, I would definitely just slump into a stupor and never move again. I know there are times when we need to just check out for a while, but having DCs and a pup to come back for is motivating. For me at least.

I hope the DCs perk up soon, and enjoy that gorgeous mummy's girl of a pup!

Goingtobeawesome · 07/01/2017 08:08

I'm shattered. Hardly slept and the puppy had us up twice in the night. Haven't seen the kids yet. Not feeling great emotionally today so need to get my backside in gear. The plan is to deep clean the kitchen. There are still loads of Christmas bits to find homes for and I've got behind with the cleaning. not liking dh today

OP posts:
pklme · 07/01/2017 13:14

I'm deep cleaning, too. Well, that's an exageration, I'm using lime scale remover on the taps and mould spray on the showers.

Christmas stuff has been done, most of it is in the gift cupboard where I find things for other people's presents or raffle donations. I had so many scented candles this year... Decorations are away. Chocolate and snacks is still being worked through, but that is temporary clutter and will resolve itself.

I have singing lessons once a fortnight, partly because I want to be a better singer and partly for stress relief. It's a bit random, but have you thought of going to a community choir? It's great for mental health, even if you sing badly. You may find you can rediscover your voice there.

Goingtobeawesome · 07/01/2017 13:49

I told dh I can only anger in tune when tipsy. He said no, I just think I can..

I'm going to make dh do all the jobs. I'm just walking the dog. I'm so tired.

OP posts:
Goingtobeawesome · 07/01/2017 13:50

I can only sing

OP posts:
pklme · 07/01/2017 15:37

That made me laugh! Well, I've spot cleaned some grotty jobs. The house as a whole is grubby, but the oven door, the hob, the taps and the showers are clean! Enjoy your lazy day, one day you will find your get up and go again I'm sure.

Goingtobeawesome · 07/01/2017 15:48

I've told dh I want him to clean the kitchen.

Puppy was very quiet while out.

Feeling hormonal.

Just a quick thought if you're feeling weak and faint and dizzy, are you eating enough? Cuppa soups won't give you energy enough to cope with anything! Maybe foods high in iron will help?

Goingtobeawesome · 08/01/2017 10:52

I don't eat enough. For nearly three months I've not been able to eat unless dh is here so five days a week I eat once a day. I want to eat and have plenty of food in, I just can't. It's like when I couldn't speak for three days. I wanted too but couldn't. On a weekend I usually manage two meals and sometimes three. I really miss Coca Cola. I don't drink it loads but now I can't have it I really want one. Dh is doing a roast dinner and making mash for me so I'll have some of that.

Thank you.

OP posts:
picklemepopcorn · 08/01/2017 14:51

Why can't you have Coca-Cola? I'm so tempted to list loads of nutritious food which is easy to eat when you don't feel like it, but I assume you know all that!

Custard, icecream, peanut butter, chocolate, bacon scrambled egg hot chocolate chocolate milk...

Sorry. Blush

Goingtobeawesome · 08/01/2017 15:39

On the information sheet for the tablets it says no caffeine.

Just had a lovely time out with the puppy. Another retriever was there and it was nice to see them interacting and us to have a chat with the owners.

Also had a chat with dh and made up a bit.

Just need youngest dc to get his act together re homework and it won't have been a completely rubbish day. I'm going to write myself a job list for the week though I have appointments every day for either me or my DD so I'm quite busy.

OP posts:
picklemepopcorn · 08/01/2017 16:08

Darn it that is harsh! I had to give up caffeine because of an irritable bladder and it was really tough! Now though, I can manage Coke regularly without any trouble.

It's worth checking how severely you need to restrict it, there isn't that much in it.

Goingtobeawesome · 08/01/2017 17:35

I wonder if it's to do with heart rate or something like that.

Just come across this thread how are you?

yumchoc · 15/11/2017 00:24

Have your b12 and folate levels checked
For Pernicious anaemia it can have a lot of neurological symptoms that are progressive and is simple to treat
