Update on DH , 3 month scan

Dh had his three months scan on Friday and we got to talk over the results with the doc. Unfortunatly they didn't have his original scan (done in another hospital) so they couldn't do a direct comparison (they will do that over the next two weeks).

The good news is that the tumours in the liver must be responding to treatment since there is no fliud build up.....befire xmas poor dh had to have 9 L for fliud removed.

Becausre of this positive response the doc wants to continue with the joint treatment for a further 3 months. While she didn't want to be pressed for a 'time scale' she did agree that a prognosis of longer than 6 months might now be a possibility!

So the news was as good as it could be.

Dh is mildly anaemic, but not enough to stop treatment, but he will have a blood transfusion the end of the week to make sure he is in good shape for the trip to disney!

I didn't think he would still be with me at this point, so we are very lucky!

Really glad to read this, your first post gave such a bleak outlook it seems miraculous that your dh has got this far. Hope he continues to do well and have a great time in Disneyland!

Blandmum · 13/02/2007 16:54

He was so ill when we got the diagnosis, he'd lost 60 pounds in weight....he has now put over 20 pounds of that back on. Even the Macmillan nurse can't believe how well he has done. She has told me that initially she didn't think he would live 3 months.

It really is miraculous!
