Hope someone can advise on this tricky situation.

Have been plagued by UTIs and sinus infections recently which ended in me having about 6 courses of different antibiotics, which was a concern as I have had a proven c difficile infection in past.

Saw GP while on holiday at in laws this week as had uTI and sinus symptoms again..tested positive for UTI, had blood and pus coming from sinus..temp 38.4

Prescribed co-amoxiclav but on day 2 of it have really bad diarrhoea.. constant all day.

So feel like should stop the antibiotics but then don't want the sinus infection/UTI to flare up.

Plan was I was to hand in urine and stool samples to own GP in Tuesday but call emergency GP here if worse over weekend.

Not sure what I should do, or if they could even do anything?

Any advice welcome. :)

I'm not sure that the U.K.'s largest employer is also the best? Hmm

Yay no c diff..so far..cipro is helping so far so got slightly higher dose for another 5 days in hope it knocks it out for good.

Sore back is pulled muscle from struggling with case when coming home. Phew.

Feel better but not 100% there. Am enjoying a wee shopping trip for first time in ages as school is back.

Hope you feel better today and your test is clear too.

Hooray - Great news! Grin

I'm delighted that you're on the mend and don't have CDiff

I'm going to call this afternoon for my results but if it was positive they'd be calling me and the phone hasn't rung yet.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 07/01/2016 12:33

Fingers crossed for you too!

How are you feeling?

I'm not too bad today but am not getting my hopes up as I seem to be getting symptoms on alternate days. Confused

I've just phoned for my results and have been told that they are available but a GP hasn't viewed them yet so they're unable to tell me if any action needs to be taken or not. I've to call back later.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 07/01/2016 14:48

hope the suspense isnt too stressful

It's just a bit irritating. I doubt I could make an appointment before tomorrow even if I had the result.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 07/01/2016 15:38

Hopefully you won't need one!

I just phoned back, they said it's still not been looked at yet. Hmm

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 07/01/2016 18:15

thats terrible!

OP posts:
SauvignonBlanche · 07/01/2016 21:43

I know, I wasn't impressed. Despite the results being available, I was told that if I hadn't heard anything by 18:30 I had to call back after 14:30 tomorrow.

I've now got to go to an Occupational Health appointment tomorrow morning and tell them that I've been tested for CDiff but don't know the results and please can I come back to work, in a hospital next week? Hmm

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 08/01/2016 09:39

Did you tell them that and they still wouldn't hurry it? Seems very intransigent :( hope it's clear anyway after all that

It got worse...

I went on line this am and booked a GP appt for 10:00, prior to my Occ Health appt at 11:00, I knew I'd be cutting it fine but it was do-able.

I arrived early and checked to see if he was running on schedule, he was over 20mins behind and there 3 patients ahead of me. I explained that I couldn't wait after 10:30 and asked if I could have a copy of my results.

No, was the answer, as a Dr hadn't seen them yet, I explained my dilemma and asked if I could view the results with interpretation and was told No.

They offered my an a pot with a different GP at 15:00 which I agreed to as when I thought about all the logistics and travel my first thought was 'I'll be knackered after all that' followed swiftly by, 'if I can't do all that how the hell will I be fit for duty on Monday?'.

Occ Health advised me yo come back a week on Monday instead, on a graduated return and I'll ask for an extended sick note when I finally get my appt this afternoon.

Oh it all sounds stressful. I hope you get the results soon and they are fine.

The doctor is able to do a consultation and prescrib medicine if appropriate. There is a charge, but it's free if you sign up as a member. I use the service and find it brilliant.

I'd pay good money to see someone test faeces over the phone! Grin

I asked mums net if we are allowed to mention services we have used and find really valuable when you have small kids. It's a NHS service provided our of Frimley. Clearly not what this forum is for - spreading news about help on offer!
