Hope someone can advise on this tricky situation.

Have been plagued by UTIs and sinus infections recently which ended in me having about 6 courses of different antibiotics, which was a concern as I have had a proven c difficile infection in past.

Saw GP while on holiday at in laws this week as had uTI and sinus symptoms again..tested positive for UTI, had blood and pus coming from sinus..temp 38.4

Prescribed co-amoxiclav but on day 2 of it have really bad diarrhoea.. constant all day.

So feel like should stop the antibiotics but then don't want the sinus infection/UTI to flare up.

Plan was I was to hand in urine and stool samples to own GP in Tuesday but call emergency GP here if worse over weekend.

Not sure what I should do, or if they could even do anything?

Any advice welcome. :)

Yes. .hoping you have just got a tum bug!

Ex c diff sufferer twins with the runs maybe.

Unless you fancy some time off work of ciurse (not worth I know!)

My typing is shot

Ex c diff sufferer twins with the runs maybe I can cope with that. Grin

After having just had six weeks off with my surgery and seven months off when my brain tumour was originally removed I'm afraid more sick time is not what I need right now, though of course will have to if I'm infectious. Sad
I still feel shit though (literally and metaphorically) and not well enough to work so in some ways I need an 'excuse' not to go in - daft isn't it?

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 05/01/2016 12:31

Aww well maybe GP will sign you off a bit longer anyway? Even if not c diff it's obviously something making you unwell.

OP posts:
fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 05/01/2016 12:32

But I can understand you not wanting sick time. Best to be fully better before going back though or will end up off again (note I always push self too far and don't take own advice)

My sensible head realises that but I'm just about to have to re-apply for my job so could really do with being there!

I'll probably have to take another week, I'm going to need a season ticket for my GP's. I'm sure you feel the same? Good luck with your UTI and sinus infection.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 05/01/2016 13:09

Am feeling mildly better. DD is a handful though..still school holidays here. She just undressed and wet her bed. So having to do washing. Hoping the small dose of cipro helps without causing c diff. And school will help when I finally get break!

I hope you suddenly start feeling hugely better.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 05/01/2016 13:09

And get to keep your job :(

OP posts:
SauvignonBlanche · 05/01/2016 15:20

Thanks Fanjo, I won't keep my current job as it will cease to exist. I will have a job but actually being at work (and interviewing well) will only increase my chances of getting the post I want.

Sorry to hear you're having to cope with your DD as well, did your DH take her out? My DD went back to school yesterday, thank God, but I ended up having to run her in as she missed the bus.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 05/01/2016 15:21

No DH is at work. She is quite tired and in need of a rest day I think anyway.

SauvignonBlanche · 05/01/2016 15:29

Sounds like you both do!

I've got an appointment in town now, I've asked DS to take the outside Christmas lights down but have just realised it won't be done when I get back.

I prefaced my request with 'when you're ready', he has ASD and is incredibly literal. I should have given him a time frame, I'm not bloody doing it!

My symptoms see to come on alternate days. Eye of a needle describes today so I'm hoping for better tomorrow.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 05/01/2016 15:45

Oh no. Hope tomorrow is clear.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 05/01/2016 15:46

And hope you manage in town

How are you today?

OP posts:
SauvignonBlanche · 06/01/2016 13:25

Not too bad today, hope you're the same? Smile

I thought I was fine earlier but had another urgency attack in Waitrose cafe again. I'm going to have to stop going there, despite the free coffee. I was reading the paper (and keeping out of my saintly cleaner's way) this morning. I was just meandering through the shop later when I realised I needed the loo - now!! It's carried on since I got home, it's very wearing.

In a mad way I'm almost hoping the result is positive as at least it will all make sense. Hmm

I've got a physio appointment this afternoon so won't do anything else until then apart from take it easy.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 06/01/2016 13:39

Yes if positive they can treat it at least.I hope it settles though.

I am OK. Feeling on mend with these antibiotics. But right kidney feels very sore. Maybe have just hurt back but is exactly over kidney. Will see what GP says tomorrow. Antibiotics will run out on Friday so while not dying to take more cipro don't want things to flare up again over weekend.

OP posts:
SauvignonBlanche · 06/01/2016 13:56

Glad to hear you're feeling OK but worrying about your kidney pain - you really don't want anything else wrong with you! We might have to shoot you. Wink

Pyelonephritis is horrible and can make you feel really lousy so I hope your GP looks into that.

You've reminded me that I need to book another bloody appointment as I'm probably going to need my sick note extended. Sad

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 06/01/2016 14:24

I suspect it was start of that on Monday. Hopefully the cipro is fending it off. Still not out of the tum woods though. Tum is feeling a bit unsettled at moment again.

I think I do need shot Grin

OP posts:
fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 06/01/2016 14:25

I will be shot if I don't go back to work on mon after 3 weeks off over Xmas and new year (just due to my work pattern) so things need to settle soon

OP posts:
SauvignonBlanche · 06/01/2016 14:56

I had pylonephritis about 10 years ago, I remember being on Cipro.

It may make you unpopular if you're not back on Monday but I very much doubt you'll be shot. Hmm You'll have to see how you are, you can't go back if you've still got the squits, can you?

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 06/01/2016 15:05

Not shot but my work are very harsh on sickness absence and so are my colleagues. So hopefully I will be fine by then :)

OP posts:
fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 06/01/2016 15:05

They'd probably make me work from the toilet if I had squits Grin not really but not that far off

OP posts:
SauvignonBlanche · 06/01/2016 19:35

That sounds bad, Fanjo, fingers crossed. For Monday.
I'm on a first stage warning over my sickness after my brain tumour and I really don't want it to go past that if I can possibly help it

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 06/01/2016 19:37

That sounds so harsh of them :(

OP posts:
SauvignonBlanche · 06/01/2016 20:29

It did feel a bit mean but sadly sickness policies cannot differentiate between skivers and genuine cases. Sad
