Dear MNHQ why does this board exist?

Having the board encourages people to think that not vaccinating is a valid viewpoint.

My figures are lab confirmed and I think your figures are notificatications.

bruffin · 02/04/2015 15:01

bumbleymummy · 02/04/2015 16:47

Be sceptical all you like. As I said earlier, we weren't in England/Wales at the time anyway.

Thank you for the figures. Not all samples were sent away to be confirmed and, considering how mild it is, many cases probably wouldn't have even made it through the GP's door. The ones that did may not have been diagnosed as rubella. The younger doctor didn't recognise it in our DS.

bruffin · 02/04/2015 17:02

Did you actually look at the figures even when they sent away 80% to 90% a tiny percentage came back positive. Unless its lab tested I dont think any one in recent years (unless you live in somewhere like Poland or Romania) can claim they have actually had Rubella without a proper lab test.

bumbleymummy · 02/04/2015 20:03

Yes, bruffin I looked at the figures. We know that they did have rubella.

onholidaybymistake · 02/04/2015 21:12

Was it notified and lab tested, bumbley?

bumbleymummy · 02/04/2015 21:17

We don't know if it was notified onholiday - as you read earlier in the thread.

onholidaybymistake · 02/04/2015 21:21

So you don't know for sure they had it then. In fact it's highly unlikely, according to Bruffin's figures.

bumbleymummy · 02/04/2015 21:31

Yes, actually we do. Strangely enough we don't rely on population statistics for countries we weren't living in to determine whether or not our children contracted certain illnesses Hmm

onholidaybymistake · 02/04/2015 21:38

You don't know for sure. You can't.

bumbleymummy · 02/04/2015 21:52

Except we can and do.

onholidaybymistake · 02/04/2015 21:56

Bumbley, I know you're renowned for arguing, but even you can't argue that your dc definitely had rubella if it wasn't lab tested.

Not lab tested - not confirmed rubella.

bumbleymummy · 02/04/2015 22:00

Maybe you shouldn't try arguing with someone you don't know about whether or not their child had a disease. Just a thought...

onholidaybymistake · 02/04/2015 22:13

Maybe you should be sure your child has actually had a disease before arguing they have - just a thought.

bumbleymummy · 02/04/2015 22:27

I have. :)

onholidaybymistake · 02/04/2015 22:28

You can't have. It wasn't lab tested.

bumbleymummy · 02/04/2015 22:29

Yes dear.

onholidaybymistake · 02/04/2015 22:37

You agree- you can't know for sure.

bumbleymummy · 02/04/2015 22:41

Give it up. We know. You don't.

onholidaybymistake · 02/04/2015 22:51

If they weren't lab tested, then I don't know, and nor do you.

Smile
bumbleymummy · 02/04/2015 22:52

Good night onholiday :) I'll leave you to your thoughts.

onholidaybymistake · 02/04/2015 22:53

My thoughts are - you still don't know. You can't know.

Sleep well.

bumbleymummy · 02/04/2015 22:54

As I said earlier - We do and can. Night night :)

onholidaybymistake · 02/04/2015 22:55

You can't know - they weren't lab tested.

Nighty night.

bumbleymummy · 05/04/2015 09:13

on holiday - have a little think about it. We know they're immune.

Anyway, back to the point of the thread. I think it's a useful board to have - all info in one place etc. Most people here are vaccinating - some delayed, some on different schedules, some privately etc and even if some people decide not to vaccinate against certain things that is still a valid choice.
