LIZS · 22/09/2006 17:44

and do ....?

tortoise · 22/09/2006 17:45

Id like to do the Davina DVD i have, 3 times a week. When is the best time of day to excercise?

shazronnieWEARINGSHOES · 22/09/2006 17:47

This week I have done 5 minutes a day on my rowing machine (I don't want to end up in a and e!! )

Starting to feel better for it, and some online encouragement would help (DH said "only 5 minutes" when he is a fatter sloth than I)

Beetroot · 22/09/2006 17:51

I have Davina DVD, that is a good start.

otherwise..I guess it depends on your fitness.

walking rather than driving is a god start if unfit

OP posts:
tortoise · 22/09/2006 17:54

I walk loads so dvd is my best option! I just don't know when to do it.Can't face it with the dc in the morning or once they are in bed! I don't get time without the younger 2 now!

LIZS · 22/09/2006 17:58

I have the Darcy Bussell dvd, unopened - is it any good ?

Beetroot · 22/09/2006 17:59

The Before and After workout is great. It's Charlie Brooks. I bought a Pilates kit today from ASDA. I will be toned!!!

Beetroot · 22/09/2006 18:00

i do mine in the morning. dav is only half an hour. can you put a vid on for the little ones?

OP posts:
tortoise · 22/09/2006 18:03

I could put a DVD on in my room.
I don't know if i should do the whole hour of the dvd or one of the 3 sections.

3andnomore · 23/09/2006 11:46

I just started with exercising again, as ys is 2 mornings in Nursery now, so have 2 completley child free mornings...I have the Tae Bo DVDs which are fab and also have Nell McAndrews Ultimate challenge which is fantastic but knackering, I tell ya, lol, and also have aBeverly callard one, which is almost to easy in my opinion, lol!
I hadn't done exercises so long and had truely forgotten how much I enjoy it

Beetroot · 23/09/2006 11:49

T, Darcey does a 20 min easy one that you could do and then add a couyple of different sections each time

OP posts:
sancerre · 23/09/2006 12:04

Lumpy here too! Only about 1/2 stone heavier than before ds but I definitely feel the difference...am getting wobbly & have lost all tonedness.
Would like to join in - 3 sessions a week did y'all say?
I also have the Charlie Brooks dvd, but as yet haven't tried it

AnelaSunshine · 23/09/2006 12:29

Is Darcey not really annoyingly patronising?

Beetroot · 23/09/2006 12:49

Darcery is wonderful, fantastic music and she is great..I love it

TitianRed · 23/09/2006 12:54

Davina is great as there are 3 different workouts. If you do each one once a week, you have worked all your muscle groups. Each takes 30 mins. Need to get back into it but sooooo knackered after have put children to bed. May just try once a week and work up to three. I need to stop talking about it and start doing it. Shall we all report back on, say, Weds and say how we've done (might have got my backside into gear by then!)

Millie1 · 23/09/2006 20:35

I need to do this too and I need some encouragement. If I were to buy a DVD ... should I go Davina or Darcey? I'm really really unfit, not really overweight but wouln't mind losing a few pounds and really need to do something about the flab which wobbles around my middle and hangs out over my jeans - UGH .

So a vote on DVDs please. I'll go have a look on amazon now.

docket · 23/09/2006 20:39

oooh, can i join, need to lose the wobble. i have bought davina but she remains unopened on the shelf! this will be the week it all starts....

Mhamai · 23/09/2006 21:20

You can add me too if that's ok, have been talking and not much else about loosing nearly 1 3/4 stone since ds was born....5yrs ago! I have Angela Griffith dvd for one mabe two yrs unopened! So yes I'd be delighted to finally loose some wobble.

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 23/09/2006 21:26

I baaaaadly need to exercise. Have lost some weight recently and feeling quite good about that (altho I do fluctuate a bit) but have never gone as long without exercising. Always done at least a step class most weeks but not for months.. life gone mental since I've been an OU student and can't find the time.

I have the Jordan workout on dvd which is very good despite being sickly and pink to look at..

My biggest problem is planning when to do it.. don't have much time and the whole exercise-bath(dont have a shower]-dry and straighten hair things takes sooooo long in the middle of the day.. it's not just the exercise is it!

Millie1 · 23/09/2006 22:00

Davina-followers .... which one? Power of Three or My Three Thirty Minute workouts? The latter doesn't get good reviews so maybe the Power of Three would be best??

MrsSpoon · 23/09/2006 22:02

MrsSpoon whispers< go to a class, it's much more fun!
