Is this the onset of the menopause?

Weird stuff is happening with my periods. I used to have a regular cycle of 26/27 days and now it is all over the shop. Periods disappear for a while and then return. When they do, they appear, disappear for a week and then reappear.

I have had my bloods done and they said 'query perimenopausal'. That was when they disappeared completely though. Is this all part of it? If so then I will just ignore! I am 37 FFS. Too young!

Sounds familiar, but you know...perimeno can go on for years before periods stop and menopause happens. i was in my 30s too, and desperately TTC at the time. My periods stopped in my mid 40s, in the end.

Personally, I think its a lot to get our heads around - especially as we all feel young these days until much later! I would go back and talk to your docs if you're having any symptoms, or are worried about it?

Thanks Elibean. Not particularly worried, just kind of double checking that this is what it is. If it is then that's fine.

Sorry to hear that this coincided with TTCing for you, that must have been stressful.

"weird stuff" is a jolly good description of the perimenopause!

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/menopause/1928015-Premature-Menopause-Support-Group-anyone isn't the most active of threads, but it has been bimbling along gently for some time and you might ind it worth a look.

Thanks scaevola, will head over to that thread now.
