I'm struggling a bit with the psychological aspect of this op a bit as well, and can't get past the thought that I am, essentially, now just a vagina (ergo a blow up doll Hmm ) DH thinks I'm being bonkers, but I can't stop mulling it over and over.

I know I'm probably just feeling a bit low but can't see how I am going to bounce back from this. It doesn't help that the first hug/physical contact I have had from DH since my op was this morning when I was in tears with pain. He then told me off for overdoing it and said it was my own fault Hmm and has been more than a little sarcastic several times today.

I'm anxious as I see my consultant tomorrow for the biopsy results and a date ..... I need to be back to relatively normal for middle of June as I'm bridesmaid for my sister .....

feeling much better ginge. I think I have a torn/pulled stomach muscle, as it's fine as long as I don't move, and only walking or twisting makes it hurt. They gave me codeine so I am feeling a bit woozy today...not sure it's actually helping, so might stop taking it. What seems to help more is supporting my tummy when I move. Not sure whether it's damage from the op, or I've pulled it?

Getting a bit bored and stir crazy though; it's a gorgeous day here and the DC are off out on their bikes, with DH walking. I am so jealous.

I dreamt that he was leaving me for a 22 year old colleague last night. I was Shock and kept saying to him "but you can't, she is less than the half your age plus seven years that MN says is the smallest acceptable age gap" I was more bothered by the age gap than the fact he was leaving! Gotta love mild opiates, eh?

How's everyone else doing? I've been a bit me me me and needy, sorry Blush

I'm back, my growth whilst huge isn't cancerous. He wanted to do it end of May but couldn't promise me I'd be alright for the wedding, I will have an 8" incision to get it out, so we compromised and I'm having the op on the 16th June so hopefully long enough to recover before the school holidays.

Daisy, you're allowed to be me me me ! You've had a big op :-)

Ah phew pizza all sounds good. Are you pleased ?
I've been troll bitch from hell the past few days with pmt but no period to show for it. Angry feel sorry for DH and DS Sad this is the whole reason I need this op in the first place Hmm

Pheeee-yeww Pizza; I bet that is one weight off your mind Flowers, but my that's a big incision Shock That should give you a solid five weeks before the school hols, so you should hopefully be well on the road to recovery!

I went out for a wee walk earlier; pain still there but seems more manageable and actually eased off as I walked which makes me think it is muscular/the muscles knitting back together. Keeping an eye on it though and will be back at the docs on Monday if it's still hanging about. The stronger painkillers are only making me feel fuzz brained and not making a blind bit of difference to this pain.

I was reading on hystersisters about ovaries going into a sort of temporary shock for a few weeks post hysterectomy and stopping working with all the meno symptoms that some with it. Anyone any experience? Is it something that depends on the individual or yet another thing that none of my HCPs told me about?

Hiya
Can anyone tell me what it's like to have endometrial biopsies done as an outpaient? It's going to be combined with mirena removal and hysteroscopy. Consultant said it would all be quick and easy but he wasn't there when it took my Gp an age to get the mirena in. I don't think.my cervix likes being mucked about with!

I'm on tamoxifen following a brush with breast cancer last year and have had some bleeding so they are investigating it. Hysterectomy has been mentioned - eek! I'm 54 but not sure if I'm actually through the menopause yet. I may need some advice and hand holding from you lovely ladies over the next few weeks. I've never had any gynae issues before

I had endro biopsies a couple of weeks ago, they inject (which stung a little) then it hurt a bit but not excessively and I had "period cramps" for about a day.

Good luck x

Hi Marsha Smile Welcome to the thread, but sorry you have found yourself here.

My biopies and mirena removal were done under GA as I had a D&C at the same time, but I've had two hysteroscopies now. Main issues were cramping afterwards. I took some diclofenac and paracetomol before the last one and the cramps were a lot less.

Ask for sedation/local anaesthetic if you want/need it. I think they would find it hard to refuse!

I feel fantastic today...mild pain if I stretch too much but other than tiredness just fine. I feel like I could have driven as well, but DH won't let me! All my wounds are healing nicely, apart from one where the end of the stitch is prominent and keeps catching on my clothes and is a little bit inflamed. I can't believe the difference since Thursday when I was crying when I took a step! I even managed to sleep on my side for the first time since the Op last night; much more comfortable then sleeping on my back!

marshy, sorry Grin

tamoxifen can increase the risk of gynae cancers can't it? Is that what they are looking for?

Yes daisy, the cancer risk is why it's all on red alert even though I've only been on the tamoxifen 5 minutes - well, a couple of months. You sound as if you are doing well.

Pizza - thanks for that.

I'm sure I'll gave more questions as things progress

Hello everyone.
Glad you're feeling so much better Daisy.
Marshy- when I had endometrial biopsy as part of colposcopy doc just sort of scraped the inside of the uterus, it didn't hurt at all. Perhaps as part of hysteroscopy they'll take samples if they see anything of concern.

Sooo. I'm back home. Surgery went well, although they couldn't find the sentinel node marked for biopsy on one side so they removed the whole chain. The node on the other side was biopsied during surgery and was pronounced clear of cancer so the surgeon is pretty confident it hasn't spread.
I was absolutely terrified on the eve and morning of the surgery. Had a pre med that hasn't really worked. Then a panic attack on the table while they were setting me up Hmm Woke up tachycardiac and stayed so for next few days ( prob anxiety rather than any reaction to meds). Couldn't sleep for first 3 nights. Pain wise not bad at all, just a very surprising feeling of incredible weakness. All in all, except for anxiety, it was not bad at all.
Now back at home and 6 days after surgery I feel fine. Bladder is not working properly, though, apparently it can take some time to recover from GA/ op. Spend most of my time on the loo willing it to reconnect to my brain. On ABs for uti as well.
Now just waiting for results of biopsy < wibble>

Report
notapizzaeater · 15/04/2014 18:00

Aw Winny, hope anxiety settles, how long for results.

My growth is pressing on my bladder, hoping it hasn't adhered to it and it all goes back to normal afterwards.

Was yours keyhole or cut ?

Report
LackaDAISYcal · 15/04/2014 19:35

Good to hear from you Winny and I hope that your bladder wakes up soon. Initially I had no problems, but things have been a bit sluggish in the bowel dept and over excitable in the bladder dept since I got more active.

When do you get your results? I see my oncologist next Friday but they are confident all will be fine so I'm not worried.

I've been venturing further afield and enjoying the spring sunshine; wish I could just be on my own though; all my family are irritating the hell out of me at the minute; DH especially. I need to go off on my own to recover I think; I'm not a good patient Confused

finally have caught up, couldn't get on for a while.

LackaDaisycal glad to hear your recovery is going well.

winnie great news re one side being clear. How are you going with the brain/bladder connection?

With 4 weeks to my op I'm starting to slightly panic about logistical issues... darn my planning gene! Grin. I've got a plan A almost sorted, but need to think of a plan B in case I'm in hospital more than 4 days. Then of course also have to work out who's going to pick me up for home time as dh doesn't drive and I'm too stingy for dh to catch a taxi there and back ;).

Thanks also for that info winny. Fingers crossed for your results. I know how vile it is to be waiting.

Just back from 2 days walking in North Wales. Trying to be as fit as possible

Hope no one minds if I hop in on this thread? I'm 2 weeks 1 day post op (TLH and bilateral salpingectomy) and I feel worse than I did a week ago. I have got awful pain in my stomach and the bloating is as bad as ever. Has this happened to anyone else? Trying to decide if it's normal and I have been over doing things or if I should go and see the dr. Also my tiredness is all consuming and I struggle to get through the day without at least 2 naps. Feeling quite down in the dumps about it all today.

Report
winnybella · 17/04/2014 10:25

Are you constipated, Psiren? Re: tiredness, I think it's normal to have bad days. Don't you have a check up appointment coming up?

After some ABs and anti- inflammatories there might be a slight improvement in the peeing dept. Phew.
My mum is leaving tomorrow and it's going to be quite tricky to handle the housework, cooking, DCs etc by muself.
I've quite enjoyed issuing orders from bed and not having had to lift a finger.

Report
Psiren · 17/04/2014 10:36

No not constipated fortunately, not sure I could cope with that too. No check up appt, consultant said that I wouldn't be seeing him again now (as I'm 'cured'!) I've to see my gp at 6 weeks and that's it. I've had zero aftercare.
