Anyone else got this headache virus?

That's it really. On and off headache for 5 days now, no other real symptoms apart from feeling tired. Paracetamol doesn't work but the triptans I take for migraine do for a little while.. Ugh, just wondering how much longer I've got to wait it out.

I remember now I had a feeling of poor balance one morning, might have been before the headaches started, but it didn't last long and I forgot about it. Swelling round the ears, I suppose.

I think I may have got hypochondria, which can be quite serious.

pigsinmud · 19/03/2014 17:55

I had this a few weeks ago, well actually about 6 or 7 weeks ago. It turned into labyrinthitis - room spinning, felt really sick. I still have balance issues now, but spinning and sickness have gone.

Oh no Schilke hope it's not that... Now getting cold symptoms. This is really boring isn't it? Apols.

Day 9 - I'm still ill. Is it time to go to GP? Even though I don't know what they could do for me.

tobiasfunke · 21/03/2014 09:53

This has been going around here as well. Nausea at the beginning then sore head and slight temperature. Horrible.

SydneyB · 21/03/2014 13:59

I went to the GP yesterday who thought virus but did blood test too. Got a prescription for more triptans. I keep thinking it's gone and then it comes back... Day 5 here of proper headaches, can't believe I might have at least 4 more to go :). In the evenings I get feverish and have slight coldy symptoms but it doesn't turn into anything.

Had it all last week and developed a chest infection on top. Headaches are clearing now but still feel really whizz and foggy.

It's rotten, dd had it before me and she was totally floored by it, she normally barely sleeps and has buckets of energy but she was falling asleep on the couch in the middle of the day.

SummerRain · 21/03/2014 14:03

Whizz = woozy

FiscalCliffRocksThisTown · 21/03/2014 14:11

I have this.

Stupidly tired, headache that won't budge, feeling sick/nauseous and now a sore chesty cough

SydneyB · 21/03/2014 14:20

Really hope the kids don't get it... I've got a big work event coming up in a week, need to be back in the office next week. Too boring. And painful.

Does anyone else feel weirdly spaced out? Almost like being a bit drunk

SydneyB · 22/03/2014 16:56

I did yesterday. Spending day in bed today as still not gone. Discovered codeine works for head. So fed up of this nowHmm

Day 10 and feeling much brighter. Just ear pain now and a little tired. Slept for 9 hours last night, woke up, said good morning to dc, and promptly fell asleep again. Really looking forward to an early night again tonight, but have managed to go all day without crashing so that's progress.

Hope the rest of you are feeling better soon.

DelGirl · 22/03/2014 17:11

This is my second day of dizziness and I've been in bed for most of it. Just managing to feed dd and I. Really hope it goes soon, its awful. Not sure if its the same virus as not in the uk. A thick head and nauseous :(

SydneyB · 22/03/2014 18:10

mellow that's good news! I went to bed at 7, woke up at 11, then slept til 6 and then on and off for most of today. Seems to have done the trick but not taking that for granted.. By my calculations inc all symptoms I'm on day 9, holding out for magical day 10.

Definitely going to show this thread to dh - he has been great keeping things ticking over but I am worried I look like a malingerer. Have been sitting down for over an hour and not fallen asleep so I must be on the up - over previous week more than 5 minutes inactivity would've caused an involuntary nap.

FiscalCliffRocksThisTown · 22/03/2014 19:04

I went to bed at 8 yesterday.

Today i went back to food shopping and cooking like a good mum/wife but feel knsckered.

MellowMarshmallow · 22/03/2014 19:29

are you not hitting the wall yet Fiscal? I managed to keep moving most days then by 6.30 dh came home and sent me to bed, quite often I was crying by that point Blush Blush but look at me now - after 7 and I'm still awake and doing housework. I am restored!

SydneyB · 22/03/2014 19:49

Mellow, you offer hope to all of us!

Le1890 · 23/03/2014 18:49

I had a cold virus thing two weeks ago and was floored with it. Now I'm wakin up with headache, stuffed up nose and sore throat since. Blocked sinus feeling. I feel well now though.x

SydneyB · 26/03/2014 11:29

I'm still poorly. Back from GP who has now diagnosed sinusitis and given me antibiotics, hope they knock it on the head. :(
