Zombie needs her limbs holding

Valpollicella · 05/03/2014 00:05

With Zombie's permission, I'm starting this thread

As many of you know she has had a hideous time through her treatment for cancer.

At the point where she was maybe out of the woods she has been asked to see her surgeon on Friday. Unexpectedly Sad

Can we all squeeze her together so her limbs don't go flailing
and do what we vipers do best?

I cannot bear the thought of her going through all the treatment s again after coming out of it before

Prayers, fingers crossing or whatever welcome right now

Enjoy your sleep, Zombie and well done for today. Thank you for the explanation. You did several women a favour I think, with such a practical explanation Flowers

CakeyCakeyCakey · 21/03/2014 17:46

Zombie you're amazing!
I hope the results are good news and you can get on with healing in peace.

I've donated again

ZingSweetCoconut · 21/03/2014 18:34

Thanks for explaining what happened - I hope you weren't too scared with the actual procedure.

max of two weeks for results - it will feel longer I guess.

we are here for you, whatever you need.

I'm up at nights sometimes so if you're up and bored or worried just post or PM and I'll try my best to make you feel better.

or just "sit"with you and listen.

weird how I don't know you in RL yet I love you lots.
Thanks

Jux · 21/03/2014 18:39

BearBearBearBearBearBearBearBearBearBearBear

to cuddle you while you sleep.

IamtheZombie · 21/03/2014 19:18

I'm back! Didn't actually sleep but was nicely snuggled under the duvet with my Kindle.

Well, Chris, I don't see why not. You're not that far from Shrewsbury.

Wolfie, Macmillan is number one, but it's not the only one. I've also done some fundraising for the Oncology Centre at the RSH. I can do the SW...

lovelies, when I had to have a biopsy 21 years ago it was a full blown operation under a general anaesthetic. I'm extremely glad that technology has moved on so much.

For those of you facing a biopsy yourself or know someone who is please be aware that there are a couple of different procedures. This is an excellent explanation of the one I had:

www.radiologyinfo.org/en/info.cfm?pg=breastbixr

Also, be aware that if it is the Core Needle that there is quite a loud click when the sample is taken. Because of the local anaesthetic there is absolutely NO pain. Some women may have a sensation of pressure but that's as bad as it should be.

So far I'm not having any post procedure discomfort. There will be some bruising and possibly a bit of swelling. Any discomfort I may have will be easily dealt with by some paracetamol. I'm lucky though - paracetamol was the only pain relief I needed after the mastectomy too.

Those of you who are saying I knew you under a previous and / or on FB please PM me and tell me who you were / are. I'm crap with name changes. Grin

Badvoc · 21/03/2014 19:27

Been thinking of you today zombie...so glad you are not in discomfort.
Take care x

flatbellyfella · 21/03/2014 19:30

For our Zombie...Thanks & My best wishes...

Borntobeamum · 21/03/2014 20:00

I'm proud of you Zombie x x

thegreylady · 21/03/2014 20:50

I had two basic core biopsies and as Zombie says it is worse in the anticipation than the execution. I had a mammo first to pin point the tumour and a fine wire was inserted. I had a local anaesthetic and it was painless. The needle was insertetd into the tumour then some sort of instrument was put through that and there was a very loud click, then another. This was repeated on the other side but just guided by the mammo-no wire. I had some bruising for ages afterwards. I had biopsies on both sides and the 'good' side which was benign calcification bruised more than the side with the tumour.
Now Zombie, enough of this, Let the Wild Rumpus Start

Have a peaceful weekend, Zombie, you deserve it.

Wolfiefan · 21/03/2014 22:20

Thanks Zombie. My sister has been very involved with Macmillan. Yet another reason to support her and their amazing work.
I'm between Cheltenham and Bristol if you fancy a pint. (I think you have earned several!)
As always luff, hugs (I don't care if this is MN!) and support for an amazing Zombie!

IamtheZombie · 21/03/2014 22:25

You aren't very far away at all, Wolfie.

thegreylady · 21/03/2014 22:34

Wine greylady drops in to the Zombie party and toasts Zombie before sloping off to bed. Zombie love if we don't manage a meet up soon I'll have to start haunting . In the meantime I'll throw some cyber Cake into the mix. Z you are an example to us all...

yegodsandlittlefishes · 21/03/2014 22:50

I'm not far from Wolfie. I'm not much of a party animal and am more of a vampire (like my sleep) and wouldn't dream of invading the smoking shed, but if a bigger gathering were organised I'd love to be a part of team Zombie.

Wolfiefan · 21/03/2014 22:55

Team Zombie? Now that's an idea!!

Kudzugirl · 21/03/2014 22:57

Zombie

I think you are bloody marvellous. Flowers.

yegodsandlittlefishes · 21/03/2014 23:01

I did see some official looking volunteers collecting for Macmillans and gave a donation (only saying because of your pic, zombie, and I wanted you to know it has helped them a bit.)

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 21/03/2014 23:10

thegreylady thank you for adding your experiences.
Everyone must get slightly different nuances, and the more people like you who are prepared to share what happened to them, the easier it must be for others who are facing these procedures.

mistlethrush · 21/03/2014 23:28

I hope that you get the results very quickly Zombie Thanks
