GRRR..... AT HORRIBLE DOCTOR'S RECEPTIONIST

I've been on the phone to my g.p. asking for my ds2 (2 years and 2 months old) to see the doctor - he has a very, very bad case of chickenpox. I know this as he is my fourth child and know what normal chickenpox looks like.

Guess what the receptionist said?

"Oh, he doesn't need to see a doctor if he's just got chickenpox"...... WTF does she know, she hasn't seen my poor ds2. I told her he was my fourth child, I'd never taken the others to the doctor when they had it, but I know that my ds2 has come down very badly with it and I'd like special creams to help sooth his red raw bottom that is covered in weeping spots - he screams when he has a wee. Again she said, "everything sounds normal to me, I don't think it is necessary, you can't bring him here, I'll get a doctor to RING you"....

I just wanted to rant about receptionists, I've had many a run-in with this one and I intend to tell the g.p. when he/she rings me.

Ledogy, - really surprised me there that she can show human emotions!. You're right about how she speaks to people though - she should work for the prison service!

Browny, the impression I got was she wasn't showing human emotions but rather trying to be the centre of attention at my mother's funeral ...it didn't work anyway everyone knew she was only an aquantence and left her to it!

my MIL is a doctors receptionist

does it get any worse than that...?

Tutter - pmsl - you lucky thing you!

Mind you I'd swap both of my mother-in-laws (yes, I'm really that unlucky!) for yours - and I know that's probably saying something!

Ledodgy, sorry about your mum x
