The top of my right boob was a bit sore Weds night and when I rubbed it I felt a sort of lump. Not round, but something there. Decided not to waste any time worrying and got an appt next afternoon with my GP. She isn't sure what it is, said it isn't a typical lump and if I was 21 she wouldn't refer me but just watch and wait, but as I'm 44 she's going to refer me to the Breast clinic. I'll have a mammogram and maybe other tests.

I'm going from being completely freaked out by it to being OK. My plan is to keep busy so I don't think about it.

Oh Surfermum I am so pleased to here that.......what an enormous relief for you.

I have a friend who had been diagnosed with breast cancer and has just undergone over a year and half of treatment from the removal of her lump from her breast and then as it had spread the whole removal of the breast to the reconstructive surgery of her breast, chemo and tablets. she as she states is cancer and tablet free at the moment and has one fantastic new breast!!!!

That's great news Surfermum.

So pleased Surfermum - same thing happened to me last week, was told the lump was normal breast tissue. I also had to go just before xmas for the other breast and that turned out to be cysts.

Just letting you know that i was told to keep checking myself and if any 'new' lumps appear to go back to gp. It is a bit difficult when you have lumpy breasts to work out if there is a new one

Bless you all. It's been so lovely having such support on here. I'm sure it's helped that I've been able to come and spill all on here. I am very good at putting on a bright front when I'm worried/down and it never does me any good.
