malt - wow that didn't sound fun, but glad they sorted it - I get piriton sorry that should be GOT piriton before tax - one more to go for you now :)

tiny - didn't do cold cap Kitkat & malt are the experts :) For chemo I got a basket of "handy things" together such as tissues, sucky sweets, thermometer, hand cream, lip salve, ginger biscuits etc. (I took that from room to room as I lounged around) I did FEC-T - (do you know why you are just getting EC?) from recent experience on here FEC either makes you horribly sick (me and kitkat) or it doesn't (malt) Grin so be prepared for that but don't assume it will definitely happen. If you are sick contact the 24hr helpline for advice - they will up the anti-emetics - on the third cycle I managed not to be sick at all (although very nauseous) It's worth having a range of "nibbly" things in as your taste buds normally go a little strange and your mouth can be sore - this normally kicks in about 3 days after for a few days. Fresh pinapple and melon straight from the fridge were good for me.

smee · 17/10/2013 14:59

Tiny, yes do give the coldcap a go. It does work for lots of people. Malt's spot on saying take paracetemol as that does really help. I'm glad I did it, but was a bit like kitkat, so had massive bald patch, but some hair front and back. That was brill as it meant I could wear a scarf over the top. I had pavlovian reaction due to FEC sickness too, so every time I put the cold cap on I threw up. Bit grim, but I did stick with it. btw, my hair came back curly, but not grey. Took a while, but curl's all gone now. Smile

Malt, glad you're back. x Smile

Hello just popping quickly from my hospital bed. Not had surgery yet but consultant has just been in and confirmed CT and bone scans were clear!!! I gave her a big hug. I have been such a massive ball of stress over this and I can now relax (and enjoy the drugs I shall shortly have pumped into me). Apols haven't read anyone's posts today but I needed to blurt this out to everyone Grin

Handbags, wheee!!!! Great news!

Nerve damage? Someone asked? Yup. But I don't notice now. Have learned to do things differently. Sometimes fall over but not very often. Vit B very useful for minimizing it.

I'm sure I'm menopausal .
Absent periods , shitty skin , moody cow .
Started a new skin regime this evening of Vit E hot cloth polishing and Vit E oil as a moisturiser (as recommended on style and beauty board !)
