Esp if she added saffron to it and decorated it with gold leaf. Mary would call it 'enchanting'. Grin

Oops! Grin

foofooyeah · 16/10/2013 15:28

Oh greeneyed eye watering internal doesn't sound very pleasant. But smiling onc sounds better.

Walk turned into lunch out instead due to rain, but got the good news that I am being prayed or in Lourdes and my name has been pushed into hw wailing wall in Jerusalem. I am neither Jewish or Catholic but will happily take whatever prayers are offered Grin

gigs hope your ok.

GoodbyeRubyTuesday · 16/10/2013 15:30

greeneyed sorry I knew there was someone else with results today but got in a bit of a muddle. Sounds like excellent news :) they don't use the term 'all clear' until at least five years, if at all, according to my bowel nurse. A smiling oncologist is definitely a good sign! I hope you have recovered from the examination.

smee have a good journey back! I hope the meeting went well.

I'm off for a haircut in a bit. I haven't had it cut since before chemo! Shock it is very tatty so will be good to tidy it up and look a bit less scruffy.

MaryAnnSingleton · 16/10/2013 15:36

smiling onc sounds good !
Ruby (not our lovely ruby) could never present any tv thing as her voice is so dreary and monotonous. I've really gone of Mr Hollywood and slightly lost respect for Mary. I adore Mel and Sue though.
Nearly fell asleep over my manuscript for Football Jokes as am so tired (not because it's dull, there's quite a lot of scope there for jolly drawings) and am sooo behind with things. Need to iron, take the boy to piano then take dad and boy to visit mum- that's the day gone !
Am prob. seeing bcn to chat on Fri...she's coming to find me at the hospital when I'm with mum. Had horrid dream last night that bcn had died after being hit by car Sad
Lovely exciting package from Macmillan (the publisher) to say thanks and congratulations for Christmas Jokes - aw ! it's a massive chunk of Snowcake soap and a Snowman thing...the house smells of it ! Am so very lucky, people keep sending me nice things - a beautiful lino cut print from an illustrator friend on fb (never met but I adore his work) ,a stripy matelot top from the woman who runs a children's cancer charity (I raised money at Lent for it) and now this...I really am blessed by having lovely people around me.
Am sending loving kindness in return to dear gig

foofoo that's a lovely thing- I'd be very touched. I am v lapsed catholic and I know that various people have prayed for me-it's nice.

Greeneyed good news! Although ouch to examination.

Topsy ROFL at Ruby shitting on a plate!!!!!

Foofoo you of global multi-faith prayers Grin. It really means so much when people include you in their thoughts and prayers.

Knittingnovice · 16/10/2013 16:32

I haven't read peoples updates so sorry, but have got my chemo start date next THURSDAY, next week looks busy busy.

And DD2 has just taken 3 oz of formula from my DM, so results on all fronts

malteserzz · 16/10/2013 16:58

Green eyed good news Smile
Ruby hope the haircut was good, I'm jealous !
Knitting I'm pleased you have a date, how many sessions have you got to have ? I've got number 5 tomorrow and it does go quicker than you think it will honestly. Have they told you what side effects to expect ? We will hold your hand through it Smile

Thinking of gigs and still sending love to Kurri x

kitkat1967 · 16/10/2013 17:59

Good news about your DD2 knitting. And good news that you have a start date for you chemo - what are you having?

Well having slept through my chemo this morning I then had lunch and have slept all afternoon. If I remember correctly (and to be honest that's not likely at the moment) I think in the previous 2 weeks even the steroids did not keep me up on the first night vs the Piriton effect. However I haven't had the chemo so early in the day before so this cycle may be different.

Still love my onc for coming up with this regime for me Wink. He has confirmed that I did take 3 times the amount of sickness meds in the first cycle but if I need them i can have them every week - as it happens I don't but nice to know I could have them if required.

BetsyBoop · 16/10/2013 18:24

no news from gigs yet?

a smiling onc is good news greeneyed :)

another one ticked off kitkat :)

and another one for you tomorrow malt, almost there :)

good you have a start date knitting, the end seems a long way off at the start, but it comes round surprisingly quickly :)

to everyone else and tosses some apple and blueberry cake on the trolley before I eat it all

well I'm starting to come out the other side of the tax bus today, just knackered and achy now, but so good to know I don't have to do this again. :)

smee · 16/10/2013 18:46

Ooh hooray for that, Betsy. I know you've still got lots ahead, but no more Tax is wondrous. Smile

Yay for another one ticked, Kitkat. And you for tomorrow, Malt. Both nearly through. Smile

GoodbyeRubyTuesday · 16/10/2013 18:55

Hello all,

I'm back from my haircut. She cut it a lot shorter than we had agreed, but it'll grow back. I think I will like it when I've got used to it, and it's more exciting than the trim I had planned!

malt I do feel a little bad for even mentioning haircuts here :( hopefully your hair will start growing back as soon as you're finished -not long to go now :) it seems like only yesterday you were buying your thermometer and preparing for cycle one! I'm sure it doesn't feel so quick for you at times though. I found the days seemed to go so slowly but then suddenly six months had flown by.

foofoo people are kind aren't they! Various people had Mass said for me in their churches and sent me a special Mass card thing, when I had my surgery.

I like the idea of being prayed for but I also hate the idea that any God could ever have a system that means that people's fate basically depends on how many (religious) people they know. I'm from a big Catholic family so I think I'm getting more than my fair share. My grandmother has her whole Bible group on the job! Blush I did have an email after my CT results yesterday from another relative saying something along the lines of "may God continue to heal you" which made me a bit HmmAngry if I'd known He was going to do that, I needn't have bothered with the chemo Grin

I'm rambling a bit sorry...

gigs thinking of you lots.

knitting good to have a date and a plan. I'm sure they've explained it all but first session takes longer as they do the infusion slowly in case of a reaction. I'd recommend taking a book, magazines or, my fave, a puzzle book, to keep you amused. Might be worth taking several to choose from as I found it really hard to settle on anything. Also some tempting snacks. Unfortunately you probably won't be able to knit because of the cannula, I tried but it kept stopping the flow so it was confiscated :( also very good news about DD :)

kitkat glad you've had lots of sleep, I'm sure that will help your body cope with it all :) also good you can get extra drugs if needed!

betsy wooohooo! GrinFlowersWineCake hopefully you'll soon be feeling much better.

MAS you sound exhausted! No wonder with everything going on. I hope your mum is recovering well. And lovely you've got so many people who care :) just googled Snowcake soap and it sounds very Christmassy!

Waving to everyone x

Gigondas · 16/10/2013 19:02

Hi just checking in - no news yet ( not sure when I will hear but should be in next day or so). Mr gigs has got my phone forwarded to his and emailed asking them to tell him as I am too stressed about it. But thanks for all lovely thoughts - I am with ruby on this as if kind thoughts and prayers helped , I would be ok.

Pleased you had new haircut ruby - am sure it will be lovely.
Greeneyed - smiling onc is good Smile.

pigeons you know you are making me check fail now.

think its evening on sofa for me.

smee · 16/10/2013 19:20

Glad you're back, Gigs. Smile

Marshy · 16/10/2013 19:25

Hi all,

Just checking in to say hello. Good to see people making progress and ticking things off.

Thinking of you gigs for your results and handbags big day tomorrow.

I had a friend over today who I hadn't seen for ages. Was really nice to catch up. Have a full day planned tomorrow - a walk in the forest with DIL and GS, then a catch up with my boss in the afternoon.

Can I use the dreaded Facebook-style '2 more sleeps' until my SLNB results? 2 more sleepless nights, more like. Am in a constant state of panic, just the degree to which I can control it that varies. I am so fed up with feeling sad and scared. Sorry, just rambling now. Is there anything good on tv tonight? Need distraction.

Marshy · 16/10/2013 19:27

I wonder how HND is doing?

BetsyBoop · 16/10/2013 19:31

wondrous indeed smee :)

I hope you don't have to wait too long gigs, waiting sucks, still crossing everything tightly for good news.

woohoo for a haircut ruby and don't you dare feel bad for mentioning it, no one begrudges you a haircut or hair, even me with my very unattractive baldy pate!

Gigondas · 16/10/2013 19:35

It sucks doesn't it marshy? Am watching rick stein -shouting at tv is quite therapeutic.

kitkat1967 · 16/10/2013 19:40

Quick question for post surgery ladies if you don't mind.

My surgeon has always said i can have a lift (and implant if i want) on the none BC side when he does the rest of the reconstruction on the BC breast. I had taken this to mean he will do it all in 1 OP but do you know if this is possible or will he want to wait until the reconstruction is 'settled' to see what he has to match? He's quite cocky about his work (in a good way for a surgeon) so I wouldn't be suprised if he thinks he can do it all in one 'hit'. I will be disappointed if i have to wait Sad so need to get my head round it in advance.
BTW - I know i can ask him all this but have no plans to see him soon as in the middle of chemo at the mo.

Marshy · 16/10/2013 19:40

Yep, truly sucks. Rick Stein and India don't really go together for me. He needs to get back to Cornwall

BetsyBoop · 16/10/2013 19:48

sorry marshy, I'm that slow atm I x-posted with you, I wasn't ignoring you :) . Waiting is definitely the worst bit of all of this
