Foo foo glad work went ok, I've put weight on on chemo I always thought cancer made you thinner !
Thinking of gigs what time is your appointment ?
Really you sound like you cry as much as me it's rubbish isn't it

Waiting for ds to go to school then I'm going back to bed

Lilymaid · 16/10/2013 08:21

Lil's round up: age 60 (going on 19). DH + 2 fabulous DSs, 22 & 26. DX June 2013 with grade 2 nodal BC. A few weeks later also found to have bone cancer. So far have had 6 rounds of Tax plus injections of Denosunab for the bones. Now waiting to see if I need further chemo and surgery before moving on to radiotherapy.
Skin now very clear from the chemo peel and have lost some weight. Bald but have excellent wig that makes going out and seeming "normal" no problem.

topsyturner · 16/10/2013 08:38

Just bobbing on to give Gigs a big squeeze , and to shove her out the front door as I know she doesn't want to go !
Good luck this morning sweetie , I have everything crossed for you x

KK good to see you Smile

GoodbyeRubyTuesday · 16/10/2013 08:57

gigs good luck. Have turned on my battery candle... it's prettier than it sounds!

Hope jchoc had a good swim.

really hugs for you, I hope things start to feel easier soon.

foofoo healthy eating good if you feel like it as will help you cope with the chemo, but be kind to yourself, most important thing is doing whatever you need to get through the treatment :) for me that meant barely eating any vegetables and eating whatever I craved as everything else made me feel sick! Now I try and limit my carb intake, especially refined ones, as cancer cells can only use glucose for energy, not fat, but it's a bit of a balancing act with digestive issues.

Been for a walk round the campus lake this morning. It was beautiful as the sun was rising, very foggy but soon cleared. Lots of noisy ducks already out and about.

Hope everyone has a lovely morning :)

MaryAnnSingleton · 16/10/2013 09:19

must say that when I first started on Capecitabine they gave me a mega huge dose which caused horrid hand and foot probs but beautifully clear skin on my face- weird !

Morning. Just popping in to say good luck to Gigs this morning.

I've got chemo at 10 so just sat here waiting at the moment.

Weighed myself this morning and have not changed weight at all during either lot of chemo (kind of relieved as ate loads of carbs when had FEC nausea).

I'm more worried about weight gain on tamoxifen but hoping that I'm not that prone to weight changes - didn't ever put any on when on the pill or with mirena and now not with chemo either. Am planning a gym assualt just in case though Shock.

GoodbyeRubyTuesday · 16/10/2013 09:40

kitkat good luck for today's chemo :) hope you manage to sleep through again!

handbagsatdawn · 16/10/2013 10:07

Morning.

Good luck today Gigs - hoping all is clear with you.

Kitkat hope chemo goes smoothly and is kind to you!

Well I have my last day today of being a lady who lunches (for a week at least) as I'm back in hosp tomorrow for node clearance and most worrying of all at the moment (aka I cannot stop stressing about it) results of CT and bone scans. Am stressed up to my eyeballs - is it normal that everything starts hurting when mega-stressed out?

I met with my boss yesterday for a chat as I have loads of work stuff I need to hand over to others to look after whilst I am off. I need to get on my laptop today and fire about 10000000 emails off to assorted people, but have a friend coming over for coffee in a minute, followed by lunch at another friend's house, parent's evening later and trying to fit a walk in between that lot. Chances of doing any work? About 0%.

Watched GBBO - Have to concede am also getting fed up with Ruby's gurning whenever she presents her food. Kimberley is my fave and has been from the start.

MaryAnnSingleton · 16/10/2013 10:12

loads of luck handbags - am certain that everything seems to hurt when tests and whatnot are imminent !
I like Kimberley and thinkshe should win, though frances has a hard time with Paul H's constant 'style over substance' whining...Ruby completely gets on my nerves, faux self effacement doesn't work on me

malteserzz · 16/10/2013 10:20

Good luck Kitkat with your chemo and handbags for your results Smile

graciesmall09 · 16/10/2013 10:24

Popping on to wish gigs and handbag loads of luck today. Hope your results are good. Welcome to all ew folk sorry you have had to join.

Waving to everyone x

MomOfTwoGirls2 · 16/10/2013 10:32

Good luck to all with chemo, other appts today.

Its second day after my first chemo (AC). Still feeling fine, thought not quite normal. Quite sluggish, that's prob the pills? I notice my feet have swelled, and my skin has a red flush to it. Onc nurse things it will be tomorrow/Fri when I get the worst side effects. So hoping for an enjoyable lazy day.

My kids have a big violin concert on Sunday, I'm hoping to be OK for that! (I'll have to go regardless)

Gigondas · 16/10/2013 11:04

Thanks for nice thoughts - scan done so just got to wait for dr to call and tell me, I am trying to prepare for worst.

Handbags it's very normal to detect aches everywhere . The waiting is crAp.
Mas I like Kimberley too - think she has been edited to look smug as opposed to ruby who really shouldn't be there .

Coffee and flapjack now then meeting friend for lunch then dietician Abd therapist ( who listened to me yesterday).

topsyturner · 16/10/2013 11:07

Plonking my (doughnut filled) arse on the box Gigs
Hoping the wait for doc to ring isn't too long x

Shootingatpigeons · 16/10/2013 12:44

gigs my big arse is next to topsys really really hoping for good news.

I gather (and not from the daily hate etc.) that ruby and her flatmates are planning a venture, cookbooks and ensuing business. Unless they all spend their time indulging in group self effacemeant telling each other how completely shit everything they do is I suspect she may be putting on a Tv persona or is a victim of editing. If she had lived in my student flat and carried on that way she wouldn't have lasted long, or perhaps she would as we would be too busy eating her cakes Grin

handbags yes to imaginary aches and to every ache being Cancer, today I have it in rib and hip (though I know that stretching seems to be a miraculous cure, who knew?) it is still my default assumption but put it in the box

topsyturner · 16/10/2013 12:55

Lol pigeons , I thought you were talking about our Ruby .
Not that nutjob off GBBO !!!
Grin

kitkat1967 · 16/10/2013 12:56

Afternoon. Chemo all done - slept through it again so having my lunch now.

Am on the box for Gigs and Handbags.

Shootingatpigeons · 16/10/2013 13:02

Grin the keeping her flatmates happy with cakes bit is true with our ruby ? Did you ever find the identity of the secret cake eater? Who knows what our TV persona would be. I had to be a spokesman on TV once when our organisation was going through a bit of a crisis and there was no one better to do it but I looked about 12 and have a very high whiny voice, a bit like Jeremy Clarkson pretending to be a bimbo. I am sure I annoyed a lot of people...... I certainly annoyed me.....

topsyturner · 16/10/2013 13:22

Just watched last nights GBBO
What does that nutjob have to do to get thrown off ???
Shit on a plate and present it to Paul Hollywood , that would prob win her the final ... GrinGrinGrin
