Handbags, what does it say? Google is mostly ten years out of date on its data so you might as well ask the family cat.

Marshy · 12/10/2013 19:52

Challenging times on here today. I guess we all know what we mean when we say that this experience is terrifying.
Really feel for you handbags and I was going to mention the experience really had earlier this week and then she posted. I get the willies just receiving an appointment letter.
It probably isn't as awful as you think and I'm sure amber could add in some balance for you if you can bring yourself to discuss it. Will you be contacting your team to discuss next week?
Hope you have a fab time tonight maltz - sounds like you could very much do with it.
I've overdone it today and my armpit is throbbing a bit. I pulled the steristrips off the wound today as they were really annoying me!
Just watching strictly where people think it's terrifying to dance in front of an audience. Give me that any day!

MaryAnnSingleton · 12/10/2013 19:55

hugs for handbags and have a lovely evening malt
Have a lovely take away ruby
Boiler has gone and packed up -think it might be circuit board, but fortunately have immersion for hot water...not too dreadfully chilly here.
Am hoping that's the end of bad luck for a bit- mum, tooth, and boiler !

Handbags would it help to write it down here , what the letter said ?
Then we can all tell you what we know (and Amber can give you the real stats too)

Honestly , I was told almost 3 years ago , that I had an average life expectancy of 2/3 years .
I'm totally treatment free right now !

topsyturner · 12/10/2013 20:05

Gawd Mas , you've definitely had more than your fair share this week !

Ruby you have been through the mill too . Hope your take away was lovely (we had pizza)

X factor now .
And new wool to crochet with .
Don't take much to make this girl happy Grin

handbagsatdawn · 12/10/2013 20:09

It says I've gone from a grade 2 (as originally stated) to grade 3 IDC. I could accept that, but it also says LVI not identified but perineural invasion seen. Which to me says it can travel via my nervous system, not just the lymph nodes. I actually feel physically sick. I have bone and CT scans on Monday and I am terrified about what they will show.

amberlight · 12/10/2013 20:36

Handbags, you may return to a sense of calm. There is absolutely no current data saying that people with local bits of cancer in breast nerves do worse than anyone else. And Grade 3 is surprisingly good news, since a good whack with chemotherapy kills it much much faster than Grade 2.
I am not lying to you nor am I mistaken. Your odds have not changed. All that's on that letter is specialists talking to one another about what treatment is going to work. Hugs and Wine for you.

handbagsatdawn · 12/10/2013 20:52

Amber I love you xxxxxxxx

Am now going for a bloody good sob.

amberlight · 12/10/2013 20:57

...and cancer can't get up and down nerves, as they are electric relay bits all joined together, not one long tube. Cancer travels about in the lymph or blood. If that helps.

topsyturner · 12/10/2013 21:10

Listen to Amber .
Honestly , she really is very good at digging out what you need to hear from the gobbledygook that the hospitals use .

And a bloody good sob can be very therapeutic !
(I feel so much better after I Ugly Cried midweek !)

Marshy · 12/10/2013 21:12

Yay for amber......and for a bloody good sob!

handbagsatdawn · 12/10/2013 21:22

Sobbing. Big ugly sob face here too. Going to bed with a book and chocolate x

handbagsatdawn · 12/10/2013 21:23

And Amber, that really has helped me, thank you so much Thanks

amberlight · 12/10/2013 21:30

None of us can tell quite what cunning plans cancer can come up with, but we can definitely know what it can't do. Enjoy that book and choc xx

trice · 12/10/2013 21:35

Handbags, I know how you feel. It is like a kick in the teeth seeing things written down. I get cold chills opening medical post. Hugs.

BetsyBoop · 12/10/2013 21:40

as foofoo said, our amber is very very clever :)

for handbags - listen to our amber :)

smee · 12/10/2013 21:43

Oh Handbags, poor you. But Amber's spot on as ever. Hooray for you, Amber. Smile

MAS, you've had 3 bits of bad luck so that's it, honest. Warm hugs from me. xx

Still haven't eaten here, so am going to throw a stir fry into a pan, but mighty envious of Ruby's curry. Been for a run Not done a lot else though. Hope everyone's having an okay weekend. Smile

jchocchip · 12/10/2013 21:49

Handbags I 4th listening to amber. I know my grade was higher when the full results came back but they didn't think it was a bad thing. Hard not to google when you have it in black and white!

Smee I did a run this morning too, parkrun after staying out to midnight last night. "The good old days" in Leeds with my neighbour this afternoon (think I was the youngest there) which was jolly good fun. vegging out on the sofa this evening but just woken up. Think I need a rest day tomorrow!

Nighty night everyone, hope you all have a good Sunday!

MaryAnnSingleton · 12/10/2013 23:13

I'll 5th amber - but agree that seeing stuff written down is a stiffener- I remember seeing 'palliative' written on my notes.
Am obsessively wiggling my loose bit of filling.

OP posts:
jchocchip · 12/10/2013 23:51

So hard not to niggle at teeth when they have loose bits. I did get a temporary filling kit from boots a few years ago and kept patching up a tooth until the dentist could sort it. Cat is sleeping in one.of those green padded waitrose bags... :)

foofooyeah · 13/10/2013 01:10

Can I 6th very very clever Amber Grin

Had major snooze on sofa earlier so in bed now but not sure I will sleep.

Netflix is my friend

weebarra · 13/10/2013 07:37

Talking of Netflix, has anyone been watching Breaking Bad? I ask as we haven't and we were going to start last night before we realised that it involved a man with bastard cancer. Not sure that's what I need in my fragile emotional state.

malteserzz · 13/10/2013 09:16

Looks like I missed a busy evening on here handbags sorry you were upset but glad that Amber was able to reassure you. I'm really not sure about them sending out medical letters for us to read at home with no one to explain what everything means, it always seems to cause upset

I had a good night, nice meal and did dance a bit but not on the table ! No wig mishaps ! Catching up with X factor now and looking forward to getting ds back from cub camp later I think it's rained all weekend poor boy

foofooyeah · 13/10/2013 09:28

weebarra I'm watching breaking bad. Only on s1 e5. The cancer bit is kind f secondary so far. It's a bit slow but believe that s2 is great. Best line so far ..... "Fuck you, and fuck your eyebrows"

foofooyeah · 13/10/2013 09:28

Glad you had a good evening malt
