..And they all hate them. They do look a bit like tough old baked beans actually.

Dd says the liquid middle isn't too bad but she can't stand the 'chewy' outside which looks like a piece of rubber (I don't blame her) Littlest dd wouldn't touch it at all.

Does anyone know if any of the vitamin value is held in the chewy coating? I was thinking maybe I could just squirt the middles out.

Thanks MS

I have Emailed Tesco customer services. I haven't asked for a refund as such, but I've told them we think they're horrid considering they are marketed with children in mind and thought they'd 'be interested to know the outcome of my purchase'.

I'm hoping they'll be so delighted with this bit of free customer feedback they'll take pity on me.

Just to let you know - i just tried the Haliborange ones yesterday and they also look like baked beans! DS who will take anything, liked them but DD found them vile. Have you seen the Bassets soft & chewy lemon/orange ones? Also, Halibo do a fishy shaped one where you do just break the top off and suck the liquid out.

TG,it seems unreasonable to get your money back because your kids don't like them!
It happened to me actualy.
I made a hole in them and squeezed contents into jam/honey on toast.

However,my kids like smoked and poached salmon too so we eat a fair bit of that.

I bought some for my kids from Boots and they don't like them at all. I bought 2 lots as they were on special offer, one isn't even open yet but I wouldn't bother to take it back. I will just force my DC to take them eventually!

I bought some a while ago for DD and she won't touch 'em with a barge-pole either.

camis8 · 21/06/2006 16:26

I have tried most of the ones you mentioned,i went off haliborange cos of the aspartame and they hated smartfish. we're doing well at the moment with the eye q smoothies, DS eats it out of the sachet and says is like bubble gum and i mix one into half a glass of chocolate milk for DD who doesn't even notice it. if she goes off chocolate milk am doomed

I'm another fan of piercing them with a pin and then squeezing the liquid out.
I also do it with Vit E capsules to rub on scabs and scars.

Sugarmag · 21/06/2006 17:24

so how much would they taste it if you squeezed the liquid into plain milk?

sugarfree · 21/06/2006 18:25

All of it if they actually see you do it

I actually don't know because i put it in juice.

Sugarmag · 22/06/2006 07:07

Eeewwwwwww!!! I just tried squeezing one into DD's milk but it wasn't a proper liquid - it was kind of creamy like when you squeeze a spot! It was so gross I didn't even try to get her to drink it I just chucked it straight down the sink.
