topsyturner · 08/07/2013 17:20

Gigs I frequently stay in my pjs all day .
In fact HND is always quite shocked if I'm dressed before dinner time ... Grin

kitkat1967 · 08/07/2013 18:39

I've nothing for the trolley either - pesky DS decided that he likes Tunnocks Teacakes so they all disappeared in 1 evening Sad

Gigondas · 08/07/2013 18:43

How do you keep your kids away from your treats topsy? Wink

Very tired again- think I may have to defer Ou thing as so behind. Also my crap health probably means no holiday - am beyond fed up at times.

Probably doesnt help that throat still means eating And drinking hard.

kitkat1967 · 08/07/2013 18:54

sorry you still feel rubbish Gigs - if you are really nice maybe Topsy will be slightly more generous with her ice-cream

topsyturner · 08/07/2013 18:56

I'll share with you Gigs , but my kids have learnt the hard way about stealing Mamas treats Grin

GoodbyeRubyTuesday · 08/07/2013 19:52

:( gigs sorry you're feeling rough and about the holiday! Cancer sucks. Might be worth deferring if it's adding to your stress levels.

topsy the ice cream sounds delish, we have M&S raspberry ripple which is quite nice but a bit crunchy in places!

lily gift basket sounds fab :)

I've just ordered myself some treats from L'Occitane using some codes from a Christmas bargain thread! Grin

malteserzz · 08/07/2013 19:58

Gigs it's crap that you still feel rotten I really feel for you. Hope you start to feel a bit better soon x
Beautiful day again here hope this weather sticks around for a bit

Lilymaid · 08/07/2013 20:33

Ruby - we bought a big box of the Occitane shea butter products for DH's cousin recently. She too was being treated for BC and she was very pleased with it!

smee · 08/07/2013 20:51

Grrr for you, Gigs. You must be so tired of it all. The throat pain alone is depressing. Have they said how long it might be before that's gone?

We've got Raspberry Ripple too, Ruby. My favourite. Smile

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/07/2013 21:42

that's poo gig - am sorry it's being such a horrible slog...
Am feeling achy all over and headachey - bah ! think may have T's cold.

Sorry to hear you are still sore Gigs.

I am waving my family off on their hols tomorrow at 6am. They will be gone for a week and I am staying with my mum due to stupid cancer. I feel put out that I am missing a holiday that I was looking forward to and I am going to miss them terribly. Feeling sorry for myself. But it is only a week and I know they will have a fab time. They had better Skype me daily.

On a happier note ds has brought home a french horn for the holidays. Much trumping noises are to be heard from his bedroom. It's really funny.

BetsyBoop · 08/07/2013 21:59

gigs sorry you are still feeling crap - remember I mentioned honey? Have just been reading a book DH bought (Zest for Life) and it refers to this study which showed honey is good for radiation-induced mucositis (and also surgical wound healing!)

I honey it does so many amazing things (my Dad was a bee keeper for many years)

malteserzz · 08/07/2013 22:13

Trice that is crap too I'm sorry you're missing the holiday. Bet your mum will look after you well though
It's all crap isn't it.
Why can't we all be just enjoying the summer and holidays ?

KurriKurri · 08/07/2013 22:50

Hello my lovelies, - forgive me, but I am hopelessly behind with all your news, - I've been having a computer break (helped by the fact that my computer will only stay on for about 15 mins then turn itself off Hmm) real life stuff is sort of OK but still a few stresses, so I am of very little use to anyone!

I've been thinking of you all, and send my best love and hugs, especially for those having treatment and feeling yucky and fed up, and for those having sad stuff to deal with atm.

Anyway - I am fine, don't worry about me, I am just needing this little break from MN atm (not from this thread - you are my fab girls - but from the madness that MN can be at times!)

But like Arnie, I'll be back, and xxxxxxx to you all. Smile

amberlight · 08/07/2013 22:55

KK!!! So good to see you!
Gigs, argh re pain etc. Honey is a must.
Trice, heck re holiday. Not ideal, for sure.
Hi everyone else. Reading and waving.

BetsyBoop · 08/07/2013 23:09

KK!
Trice- sorry didn't spot we had x-post earlier - bugger re holiday :(

Night all - although feels too warm to sleep well...

malteserzz · 08/07/2013 23:13

Kurri glad you're ok lovely to hear from you
Amber you too, look after yourself
Betsy yes it is hot and I'm too wound up and fed up to sleep

malteserzz · 09/07/2013 05:29

So pissed off
Just keep thinking we should be going on holiday next week and the kids should then have a carefree summer
Instead no holiday and they've got to watch their mum get ill tired and probably lose her hair. They've not been worried up till now as I've been normal but when I start to look different that will worry them
Feel so guilty that I've ruined the summer for everyone. I know I didn't ask for this but still
Sorry for self indulgent trivial early morning moan, nothing anyone can say really but helps to write it down

jchocchip · 09/07/2013 05:36

kk good to see you
Finding it a bit too hot to sleep, and I still haven't sorted the curtains so its getting light. Was too busy dancing in fountains and fbing yesterday to mn - sorry to neglect you.
I'm a great fan of honey too. One of my Mum and Dad's friends wad a beekeeper and when my Dad died my new dh and I went to visit his bees and togged up to have a good look at them.

Another hot day I think. Almost makes me want to rush to my cool office. No air con but north ish facing stone building with v high ceiling and clad in scaffolding at the mo meant I put my cardi on inside yesterday...
Hugs to everyone having treatment or feeling crap.
Funeral this afternoon - too hot to wear my usual but have a black/ floral cotton skirt that may do.

jchocchip · 09/07/2013 05:39

Xpost malt. Moan away. [Angry] that you still don't have your plan.

jchocchip · 09/07/2013 05:43

Posted too soon. Angry I meant. You need to know what is next so you can plan hols/ treats but try to grab hold of every day you are feeling ok as no use worrying about the future really.

malteserzz · 09/07/2013 05:46

Jchoc dancing in fountains just want you need in this weather
Sorry about funeral hope it goes as well as it can
Maybe wait is messing with my head a bit but if I get a call today with a date that will make it real which is scary

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/07/2013 07:47

waving frantically to kk - lots of love to you xx
jchoc hope funeral is ok and that you aren't too hot.
Bah about holidays and everything trice and malt Sad
Hardly any sleep last night -couldn't get comfortable or unwind

Malt I feel exactly the same way as you, I don't want my DD worrying either. We went to the beach after school yesterday as it was glorious here and I was sitting there taking great delight in watching DD play on the shoreline with some of her school friends. Watching her having fun on the beach in the best of weather should be what summer is about, not chemo and sick days. However it's a necessary evil and I shall purchase a large brimmed hat to go over my scarf for when I've lost my locks and I'll sit on the beach rocking the chemo old Hollywood glamour look. I think we're entitled to a self indulgent moan from time to time, why not.

Gorgeous day out there already. Back to the beach after school for a picnic tea again tonight I think. Have to get my ECHO appt out the way first....so many tests, I feel like a lab rat!

Hope everyone has a lovely day, oh and before I forget, aside from wine and cake, has anyone modified their diet in RL after diagnosis?

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/07/2013 08:19

beach sounds heavenly picture !
Before dx I drank gallons of green tea, took selenium and ate tons of watercress- haven't bothered since (well I do eat tons of salad anyway and still love watercress- gone off green tea Sad ) so no, not really. My SIL radically changed her diet- not meat/dairy. I think,on balance my diet is pretty healthy anyway, though do trough a vast amount of sugary and salty stuff Grin
