Hic! Wine

Gigondas · 28/06/2013 18:30

Waves to all-smee hope that they are sorting you and throwing lots of drugs your way.

Mas- enjoy the treats after scan day. My scan letter downstairs but that's a Scarlett o hara problem (tomorrow is another day).

Swallowed- we aren't all as together as we seem and i agree that copt slaw is right. Takeaway and cuddles should help tho.

Copt-it was very like that sketch, I have had one biopsy v I have had two, mine is in ten organs v mine made my head fall off. It was funny as so damn odd but from what ruby said its not uncommon . I will reply to your pm btw - when are the drunks back from causing hhavoc?Grin

Jchoc- enjoy the brewery tour.

Amber- hope you have nice quiet weekend
Malt-do we need to bail you from doing for your mum ? My mum also can do well meant but annoying comments

Just sneaking in to say hello.

MAS hope scan went well.

Smee hope they get you on the mend soon.

I'm failing miserably to keep up with this thread ATM so sorry if I've missed important stuff for others. to all who need them.

Had rough evening/night, DH ended up calling out OOH GP to give me an anti emetic jab as couldn't stop pucking BUT tons better today, anti sickness meds working now I can keep them down! Just feeling a bit spaced out and really sleepy...

Gigondas · 28/06/2013 18:57

Don't worry betsy about keeping up. So glad meds working - rest up and try to build your strength up as not surprised you feel wasted.

MAS, I have a wonderful cream for dry dry skin (and feels luxurious as opposed to ointmenty) - if you want to PM me your addy, I'll happily send you a tub as a thank-you-for-being-so-nice-to-me Smile

Radiologist was so nice. She looked at my squished boob pictures, and scanned me, and told me at once that it all looked ok. Seems the thickened ridge is glandular, and the tenderness (as I'm menopausal) is weird, but nowt to worry about. I also have increasingly twisted back/rib which means right boob bits feel more prominent on palpation HmmConfused

Still have to see surgeon tomorrow, but doubt he'll have surprises for me as radiologist spilled the beans about normal mammo.

Very relieved, and drained - but major Japanese takeaway with dh and dds has restored me not a little!

I can't tell you how comforting it was, waiting in that confusing back to front gowny thing, to know you lot were out there to run back to should things go pear shaped.

So thank you all v, v much xx

Elibean · 28/06/2013 19:14

Gigs and Betty, and anyone else feeling exhausted because of treatment, hope you rest well and have peaceful weekends....

Elibean · 28/06/2013 19:15

I mean Betsy

That 100 year old memory again...

GoodbyeRubyTuesday · 28/06/2013 19:22

Hello all,

helly sorry your friend hasn't had better news but hopefully it'll all be easily treated

smee sending you lots of hugs, I hope you're feeling better x

malt I've got some rollers, not Velcro ones though, but they take ages to dry in my hair and I'm impatient Grin but thanks, I will look at alternatives to the Babyliss. I hope DD enjoys her prom :)

MAS sorry the balm isn't working, have you got any prescription creams? Sounds really uncomfortable :( I hope T enjoys the prom and after-party

Lunch was lovely - homemade gnocchi, small portions though, only got about four of them and a splash of sauce with a few mushrooms and some rocket, did mean I had room for some ice cream for afters :)

And then popped to Hobbycraft this afternoon for more invitation making supplies! Worn out now :)

Hugs to all who need them x

GoodbyeRubyTuesday · 28/06/2013 19:23

Oops cross posted eli thank goodness for clear mammo and nice radiologist :) fabulous news, no wonder you feel drained though, be kind to yourself x

malteserzz · 28/06/2013 19:33

Elibean pleased to hear your news Smile
Betsy sorry you were so sick but glad you're feeling a bit better
Ruby it might work better on your hair lunch sounds nice
Hoping dd is having a good time at her prom had a bit of a wobble after she left wondering how many other important days in her life I'll get to be here for
Just chilling tonight and packing to go and see RW tomorrow :)

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/06/2013 19:48

elibean that's great news - am v pleased indeed xxx and how kind to offer nice cream for my withered skin Grin Will pm you xx
ruby the comfort balm is v lovely on the rest of me so am slapping it on the regular bits but hands and feet seem very resistent to anything. Was even looking at some horrendously expensive oil thing which would probably not be practical.
Am desperate for a glass of wine but must remain sober for driving

graciesmall09 · 28/06/2013 20:52

Popping on to try and catch up with you all and failing miserably - I have the memory of a goldfish and am bound to miss someone out but hugs to all those who need it.

smee hope you are feeling pain free and they have sorted out the swelling.

mas good to hear scan over everything crossed here for good results. Hope T has fab night at his prom.

Also hope DD has a lovely night at her prom malt. I feel quite deprived now as we didn't have one at my all girl's school. Hope you are feeling slightly more calm.

eli good news about your scan.

Waves to gigs hope the stiffness and pain is easing and the rad tiredness isn't proving too much.

betsy hope the sickness has eased.

No news from kurri hope you are ok been thinking of you.

Sorry you are having a frustrating time ned hope you get the work situation sorted soon.

This is turning into a huge post don't want to miss anyone out so wavingto all x

Elibean · 28/06/2013 21:13

More thank yous to Malt, Ruby and Gracie xxxx

trice · 28/06/2013 21:27

I have a mouth full of ulcers. Does anyone know anything that helps?

I have to finish my Rainbows accounts so I can hand them over by Wednesday. I hope I will be well enough to go back and help by September. My district commissioner asked if I wanted to put dd on the waiting list for our local guides. She won't start for three years. I wonder if I will make it that far?

malteserzz · 28/06/2013 21:35

Hugs trice it's shit isn't it xxx
I don't know about ulcers but they must be painful
Have you got any plans for the weekend ?

graciesmall09 · 28/06/2013 21:57

trice Difflam is excellent for mouth ulcers. You can buy itover the counter or else get it on prescription. I was told to rinse my mouth with slightly salted warm water.

malteserzz · 28/06/2013 23:00

Waiting up for dd to get back from prom yawn ! Could go to bed and let dh let her in but I want to chat about her night with her Smile
Night night to anyone who's off to bed x

topsyturner · 28/06/2013 23:48

Evening All

I haven't a hope of catching up on the posts , so I hope you will all forgive me if I just start a fresh ?

I've been out of action all day .
I got a little squiffy last night and paid the price big time today .
Started puking at 6am and didn't stop till 1pm . (Made picking DD up at 11.45 school run very interesting ...)
Went back to bed and slept the rest of it off .

I'm such a shameful lush . Blush
I think I'd better lay off the booze for a bit , I can't even remember going to bed last night !

Anyhow , much love and hugs to all of you who are suffering from very real problems , not of your own making !

Copthallresident · 29/06/2013 00:15

Sorry but I have to get back to Alex Turner at Glastonbury (I can be shameless, as my mother, almost 80, loves to watch Alex , "seems a nice boy" it is obviously genetic Wink) but just wanted to dip in to tell gigs that no worries, no reply needed, just putting it out there. I have had Cancer you knowGrin........

smee worried?

Eli yeah for nice radiographer

Topsy Copt's law...........

No chance what with the alcohol, dyslexia AND chemobrain of behaving appropriately and remembering posts but I LOVE YOU ALL and both malt and Mas hope you have a lovely closure to prom night.

topsyturner · 29/06/2013 00:42

Why didn't I remember Copts Law last night ?
(That would make a brilliant title for a gritty tv cop show btw , must get it patented Grin )

jchocchip · 29/06/2013 07:26

Morning lovelies! I may have been rather merry last night but I managed not to fall in the canal on way home. Hope you all had a good nights sleep and the proms went well. Time for a Brew if I can get out of bed to make it.
topsy off the booze? Shock Are you sure it was Wine that made you poorly? Don't you remember eating something that tasted funny? Wink
I can heartily recommend the
pissupinabrewery beer club at the brewery. Hog roast, marquee and temporary toilets in the yard and lots of beer including tripple chocoholic... Grin. Curry and train home ;)
Any news of smee ? Hope they are looking after you.

malteserzz · 29/06/2013 08:34

Morning all :)
Dd had a fab time at her prom !
Must get up as off for nice weekend hopefully seeing the lovely robbie and olly Smile

MaryAnnSingleton · 29/06/2013 09:20

morning too from me- so glad that junior malt had a lovely prom- she did beautiful !
T home and in bed- dh picked him up and he had a great time. Slept really badly of course but am pleased everything went well and that my boy is home Grin
Poor topsy - feel better soon.
And trice - ulcers sound rotten...

swallowedAfly · 29/06/2013 09:44

ok i have news. just got a copy of the letter my surgeon has sent to my GP and it seems it's not dcis but something called lobular neoplasia. from what i'm reading it seems it's not 'cancer' so long as nothing else is found and it's non invasive however often once they find that and then test properly from there they find other more invasive lesions - as in relatively often it is comorbid with invasive stuff.

by the sounds of it they screen thoroughly and if anything else is present they find it and if not, if it's just what was found first, then it can be just a case of having regular screeing as they know it puts you at higher risk of invasive cancers or you can have preventative treatments (but somehow doubt the nhs offers that?).

so i think it's a case of ok the bad news is whatever happens i'm at risk and will have to have lots of regular screening and live with the worry about it BUT that may be all it comes to, for now at least. i suppose the bigger worry and short term bit to get through is whether when they do mammograms etc they find anything else. apparently this stuff doesn't even tend to show up on mammograms and tends to only be found by accident iyswim - so if you were having a lump investigated or a tumour dealt with or freaks like me who were just in for a breast reduction.

there's no mention of all the cysts and fibroids they found in the letter so presumably they weren't concerned about them.

sorry for long post. i feel a bit of a spoilt brat for freaking about all of this when there are people here dealing with really scary, hard stuff.

swallowedAfly · 29/06/2013 09:49

oh god i've just realised that it is in the lobes then not the ducts which is worse surely? i was thinking it was better news. argh! i am too busy for this! i go on holiday on thursday and have shed loads to do and can't waste time being panicked.
