Can a dr tell if you have a cervix by looking up your foof?

That would be a speculum Grin and as others have said yep would quickly find out it was/wasn't there!

I had a hysterectomy last year and was at the dr today due to bleeding. She was talking to me and said not to worry too much because I didn't have a cervix.
I argued with her that I had Blush.
I was sure it was left in Hmm.

OK.
If you have a vagina and a womb, then it's fairly guaranteed that you have a cervix. The doctor doesn't need to look up there to check, it's sort of a given.

If you had a total hysterectomy you do not have a cervix, if you had a sub total hysterectomy you do.

What relaxing said, sometimes the cervix is not removed, sometimes it is depending on the reason for the hysterectomy.

If you have had a hysterectomy then you may well have had cervix removed too. If she had a look with a speculum, then I'd take her word for it.

Or you could feel for yourself.

You might still have one. Can you feel it? Probably easier to feel than see, even with a speculum.

Oh! I'm so sorry, it didn't occur to me they'd take it out but I suppose they would.

It must be in your notes though. And you'd think they'd be sure to tell you what they took out and what they left.

It is very rare to do a subtotal hysterectomy these days - there's not much point to it. So it is highly likely that you do not have a cervix.

I would have a feel, ideally in a squat position, if its there it will feel like the tip of your nose.
As long as dr looked and did not just assume then I would take their word for it though.
