GoodbyeRubyTuesday · 22/05/2013 18:51

Hmph posted too soon.

Glad the pre op went alright malt and sorry about DD - sure it's not a sign though! :) we have a rule in this house that you can't count a single magpie!

GoodbyeRubyTuesday · 22/05/2013 18:52

Oh for heaven's sake I did it again. I shall give up trying to reply to all posts on my phone and wait for iPad later. Waves to everyone, have a good evening :)

GoodbyeRubyTuesday · 22/05/2013 18:55

Bloody hell topsy just looked on BBC website. How terrifying. Poor man and his loved ones.

notJenkins · 22/05/2013 18:56

Scary stuff. My dh works with the military. Very scary.

KurriKurri · 22/05/2013 19:10

I haven't properly watched the news yet - what I have seen looks terrible Sad

hello Ruby Grin sorry you had canula trouble - its painful when that happens. Shock at Dr W being in a good mood! - Blood transfusion is a nuisance, but chance are you will feel a lot better afterwards - I had to have a couple when i was on chemo and they made me feel quite revived afterwards (perhaps I am a vampire Grin)

MaryAnnSingleton · 22/05/2013 19:14

haven't seen news yet- sounds scary Sad
Nice new name ash !
Support group today - felt a bit more a part of it- even recommended the hypnotherapist I saw some years ago to a woman who is going to have radiotherapy on her brain and is v claustrophobic - the bcns thought it a good idea to see if he come in to next meeting to talk about the benefits of hypno..oh and someone made a very yummy lemon cake.
Glad you've had the pre-op malt - did they mention the turquoise wee ?

malteserzz · 22/05/2013 19:34

News about woolwich vv scary and hope there is no backlash
Ash sorry ruby glad it went ok fancy name changing just when I've learnt everybody's names though !
MAS support group sounds good and no they didn't mention blue wee ! Plus no one told me I would have to swab my perineum you should have seen dhs face !

Seemed lots of dos and donts for my right arm afterwards to prevent the swelling with the long name I can't remember... Fibro.. something. Anyway must make sure I get no cuts, burns, injections, tight clothes etc on that side. If I decide to take up tennis or something I must do it gradually, not that I was planning to. Does all this impact on your life a lot ? Realise is nothing in grand scheme of things but I hadn't really thought about it before.

Gigondas · 22/05/2013 19:50

News just awful - I grew up round there which just seems to make it seem all the worse somehow. Poor man Sad

Ruby- I had transfusions on kurri and they made me feel loads better tho didn't like having them.

Mas- I have done hypno including to help me feel better about hospital trips on chemo. It does help so a good idea for your group.

Agree that people on apprentice laughable- I have met a lot of entrepreneurs thru work and they aren't like that lot.

MaryAnnSingleton · 22/05/2013 20:10

swab your perineum ???!!!! blimey- I didn't...
I shouldn't worry too much about arm as they only take one or two nodes and any lymphoedema is unlikely but still wise not to have any injections/b tests etc on that side- just be sensible about trying not to get scratches etc.
I remember the hypno being v good for relaxing and was helpful at the time.

topsyturner · 22/05/2013 20:25

Think I'm about to get very angry on Facebook .
Either that or I'm going to have to de friend a whole bunch of people .

Arsehole posting about "that's what happens when we allow immigrants into our country"

From what I have seen on the news , one of the attackers most definitely sounded London born and bred to me .
Yes , he was black .
Yes , he was likely Muslim .
So why can't people see the difference ???

malteserzz · 22/05/2013 20:26

Lymphadema yes not fibro something!
Guess just got to be careful
I had to do a swab up my nose and one on my perineum for Mrsa, I did go to the loo to do it !

topsyturner · 22/05/2013 20:42

Imagining you just having a furtle down your pants in the middle of out patients Malt Grin

Gigondas · 22/05/2013 20:44

Get angry topsy- if it's guy I saw on news he seemed as sarf London as me. FB does reveal the idiot in people.

topsyturner · 22/05/2013 21:09

DH has just asked me if I'm ok .
I asked why .
He said you look really flushed .
No dear , I said , I'm angry !

Yes Gigs , there are some fuckwits on Facebook aren't there ?

Grrrr , it's bringing my headache back
Who's got the wine chocolate ?

topsyturner · 22/05/2013 21:10

Malt they will give you sets of exercises to do post surgery , to stop any lymphodema setting in .
don't completely forget to do them like I did

coorong · 22/05/2013 21:24

evening all - tossing a a few Wine on the trolley and some lindt dark chocolate and hazelnut. Glad your hospital appointment went well malt - did they take your foot pulse? i was most excited by that .... I listened to my own foot / heart / beat ... gigs both my DD are late summer babes - birthdays in the summer holidays. elder DD didn't really write much util year 2 and younger one (turns 6 on the last day) still struggles. But they're good readers and articulate and THAT is what really makes the difference. Children catch up the writing fairly quickly, but reading and doing maths (e.g. mathletics) is the key. You can see the impact at KS3 and 4 in high school.
kurri sorry you're not having much fun with DH - can't suggest anything - can you sign up to the same website and beat him - or knock his score off ?
ruby / ash I LOVE that song - and might name change to waterloosunset to maintain the 60's theme

malteserzz · 22/05/2013 21:29

Yes to the idiots on Facebook HmmI could predict from my friends who would start posting ignorant stuff
I have the exercises already with orders to make sure I do them!

malteserzz · 22/05/2013 21:31

Coorong got distracted by the apprentice and x posted ! No they didn't do a foot pulse, disappointed now !

Gigondas · 22/05/2013 22:00

Glad person who went did on apprentice -they made my blood boil last week too.

malteserzz · 22/05/2013 22:10

Night all. Am at work tomorrow so you can all have a little rest from me Grin

topsyturner · 22/05/2013 22:24

Ooh yes Gigs , I've been waiting for that person to leave for a while now !

Night Malt , hope you have a good day at work tomorrow .

Anyone got plans or apts tomorrow ?

notJenkins · 22/05/2013 22:30

I have the joy of occupational health assessment tomorrow. Just want it down in writing that I may not deal well with stress for awhile to protect myself at work. Fingers crossed they agree with me.

topsyturner · 22/05/2013 22:55

Not fun nj , hope it all goes well for you .

MaryAnnSingleton · 23/05/2013 07:39

good luck nj
Am really stupid - I completely forgot to take my meds yesterday evening Blush

Gigondas · 23/05/2013 08:32

Good luck Nj. My oh assessment was actually very supportive - recommended all sorts of things like spare computer to keep at home to stop me carrying it in.
