You all out there? Pop this way!

OP posts:
topsyturner · 22/05/2013 12:51

Ach kk , I would be finding a way of disabling his computer for a few years days !
Inconsiderate bugger !

Phone calls done .
Very satisfactory outcomes .
Didn't even have to mention the Cancer word once Grin

Still haven't showered though .

KurriKurri · 22/05/2013 12:58

Ooh nectarines - yum I love them.

I do feel very peed off - because he doesn't even care that he's stopping me sleeping, - not remotely apologetic. It's like this is "His Hobby", he argues that I have hobbies too and he doesn't try to stop me doing them (arguments that my hobbies don't impinge on him in any way or wake him up are ignored)

I try not to sleep in the day because I don't want my sleeping pattern wrecked. But I feel as if I could nod off quite easily today.

I think when he get very obsessed in something, his other Asperger's things actually get more pronounced - he becomes even more oblivious to everyone else in the world.

hey ho.

Gigondas · 22/05/2013 13:01

So would I - that's just unkind . Hugs for you and some chocolate digestive.

Day out sounds great mas GrinGrinSmile

Am feeling sorry for myself cos of aches and tired plus having my usual post onc appt dip.

KurriKurri · 22/05/2013 13:05

well done for surviving the bank phone call topsy Grin

My friend says she would have accidentally stamped on his computer by now (although it actually belongs to his work so I can't really Grin) she also says that I should stay awake one night and wake him up every half hour once he has gone to bed. Grin

I think I will say that if he's gaming (or whatever the verb is???) all night. he sleeps on the sofa (he's 'too tall' 'it's not comfortable waaah waah waah' - tough luck)

Another friend has given me a bag of books which all have titles like 'Please don't kill me daddy' and 'Oh no! Not the coal cellar Mummy' - why she thought they would cheer me up I don't know! Grin The bag also contains a packet of M and S pants that she bought and then realised were the wrong size but they'll probably fit me Hmm Grin - I have some barking friends Grin

KurriKurri · 22/05/2013 13:08

x-posted, ((hugs)) and swiss roll Gigs, - not long now until you go to French France, a holiday is just what you need I reckon Smile

(I also have some nice Lidl jam and toast if anyone wants some)

I'm back. Lots of waiting around, weight, height, blood pressure ECG and swabs for Mrsa and talking about the op and what it involves. Lots of advice on looking after the arm afterwards like not getting cuts, burns, not using it too much etc.Talked about the drain as if I'd be having one but then the next nurse said it was unlikely so will have to wait and see
Depressing places hospitals aren't they ! So now more waiting till June 4th
Hope everyone's ok

topsyturner · 22/05/2013 13:52

When are you off to Tesco Metro Paris Gigs ?
I reckon you do need a break .

We have just paid the balance on our week in the South of Ireland .
But it's not till August , so feels very far away !

I reckon sofa is the best place for him on gaming nights kk
Stand firm !

Orange Swiss Roll ?

topsyturner · 22/05/2013 13:54

Oh well done Malt on getting through today .
Reward yourself with some of kks orange Swiss roll Grin

smee · 22/05/2013 13:58

Ooh Topsy, crisps bap has to have salad cream Well done on phone call. Smile

Glad you're back, Malt. Hospitals are depressing, but at least that's another thing done. Smile

Kurri, sofa sounds hugely reasonable. Though I do get how tricky it is to reason with someone when they're so oblivious. Stick to your guns.

Gigs, french france sounds like it might help. Though does nanny go too? Can't imagine it's too restful without her.

malteserzz · 22/05/2013 14:31

Orange Swiss roll sounds yum, mint penguin and a cuppa here

trice · 22/05/2013 15:36

Glad that is over for you Malt. Another step closer to recovery.

topsyturner · 22/05/2013 15:37

Salad cream Smee ?
Really ?

smee · 22/05/2013 15:40

You trying to pretend you're posh, Lady Topsy? Grin

Gigondas · 22/05/2013 16:14

That's good news it's all done malt. And mint penguin - yum Smile.

Advice most welcome - big gig is not quite 5 so is very young for reception which is just finishing. It's a nice school but quite intense as private so push them hard. Hence have to balance fact she is young with fact a lot asked of them. Generally she seems to get the work fine (understands well and reads well), its more cant be bothered (ESP with writing) unless someone does it with her.

Gigondas · 22/05/2013 16:15

Yes nanny going too to tesco metro- this is other nanny who hadn't been and she is so excited.

Just need to rest up so have lots of energy Grin

malteserzz · 22/05/2013 16:39

Gigs I understand private schools will expect more but if she's only 4 I wouldnt worry at all. I was thinking year 2 when you said assessments. If she can read then that's fab. Will she write messages in cards, shopping lists etc at home ? Don't let them push her too hard at school they'll put her off writing completely

Dd didn't get into a school trip she wanted to go on, my cars just failed its mot and I've just seen a single magpie Hmm

Gigondas · 22/05/2013 16:41

Thanks for that dose of common sense malt Smile.

Poor dd and grr about car. I can see a magpie so that's a pair.

Apprentice night tonight-and looks a good one.

malteserzz · 22/05/2013 16:45

Had forgotten about apprentice tonight. Thank you for the magpieSmile

malteserzz · 22/05/2013 16:57

Car is only brake pads so no hassle really and dd is fine she's very stoic
I feel like maybe it's a sign as trip is next year so if I'm in a bad way maybe she wouldn't want to go anyway
I'm a bundle of laughs aren't I ?
What's for tea everyone ? Spag Bol here just for a change

Gigondas · 22/05/2013 17:05

Don't worry - we can be laugh a minute together as I have been plotting my death bed with aches and pains today.

It's ham in coca cola (tried this for first time and its yum) or tomato emmenthal tart and jacket potato for dinner. Proud of this as no joke trying to cook with dodgy left arm.

I must say that they have a good watchable bunch of numpties on apprentice this year.

malteserzz · 22/05/2013 17:59

Ham and tart both sound lovely
It's the girls on the apprentice that get me, loads of make up and clothes that look like they're going out for the night not for business. Maybe I'm getting old.
Looking forward to watching it tonight Smile

KurriKurri · 22/05/2013 18:12

I love the apprentice but think they are chosing the candidates for their bonkersness now rather than any business ability. I love it when a 22 year old sales rep says 'I am probably the best entrepreneur in the northern hemisphere' or some such thing Grin

In our family we have to say 'where's your mate?' if we see a single magpie, because apparently that makes its unluckiness null and void Grin (this is according to my mother, who has many improbably 'things you have to do' like throwing salt over your shoulder when you spill it, and useful sayings such as 'never cut a roll or bun, because my dear it is not done' Grin)

topsyturner · 22/05/2013 18:46

I can't quite believe what I have just seen on the news .
That poor poor man in London .
Beyond words .

GoodbyeRubyTuesday · 22/05/2013 18:49

Hello all,

I have changed my name because a change is as good as rest. Also my sister's friends all call her Ash so I was getting confused!

My infusion went alright but I'm full of holes as they struggled to get a cannula in and then later needed to take blood as well. I only have to cycles left after this though so probably not worth getting a PICC line?

I have to have a blood transfusion next week as I'm too anaemic. I shouldn't really have had my chemo this week but Dr W decided to make an exception for me as I've had so many hiccups already Shock he was in a good mood today but had no idea I'd been in hospital and wasn't fussed when I tried to tell him.
