Happy anniversary Figgy!!!
Smirking re vibrator story too. Oh my....
KK yup re recent behaviour of dh with obsessive gaming. Wonder if local asd charity has specialist to give him talking to...
Also wondering about gardening early in morning...maybe not....

Gigondas · 05/05/2013 06:33

Brew Copt?

I dozed back off til about 5.30 then dh appeared with Mini gig. I would get out there as its too nice a day here to waste.

Sorry dh being difficult again - when will he get any answers in work issue .

Grin At mind bending drugs- those cake pops things they are obsessed with are ConfusedShock. I am compiling my order slowly as I enjoy going thru it. I don't have too many of the fruit gadgets soEnvy. But that also as dh and I have ongoing battle about not buying lakeland ( long running joke - I could say same about his gadget obsession).

Gigondas · 05/05/2013 07:05

X posts- morning amber

coorong · 05/05/2013 08:06

Heard a radio 4 program some years back about the lakeland catalogue. This woman described how she would sit down and carefully leaf through each edition (like a mag). She signed up to loads of companies to get different catalogue a but said Lakeland was her favourite. So then they interviewed a psychologist, who said "the Lakeland catalogue taps into the aspirational organiser inside us ...... The photos of fridges are all organised and clean". I now take a keen interest in the photos of the inside if fridges in catalogues Blush and you notice that they

  1. Colour coordinate the food
2 have multiples of everything (ie never have just one bottle) 3 never, never, ever look like the inside of my fridge.

Oh, and enjoying Nutella and fresh coffee in bed ....Sunday breakfast! Am on the 5:2 diet and yesterday was my 500 calorie day

coorong · 05/05/2013 08:08

Oh, I think it's quite safe to garden at 5:30 as long as

  1. You aren't naked
  2. You put a muffler on the lawnmower
malteserzz · 05/05/2013 08:20

Morning all
When I get home I'm going to have 2 tabs open on mumsnet so I can read past messages and reply can never remember what everyone's said !
Love Lakeland though the pineapple thing is fab !
Had a lovely Italian meal last night and few glasses of wine and things seemed normal think kids do that for you !

jchocchip · 05/05/2013 08:40

Another fan of the pineapple thingy here Grin. Been googling in bed the best way to get rid of bamboo - taking over front garden and realised it is in space want to plant new apricot tree :( have bought grow bags and a few tom plants for greenhouse yesterday too. Better get up now!

topsyturner · 05/05/2013 09:35

Morning All (yawn)

Picturing nude gardening and doing this GrinShockGrin

DH chasing grooming pig/dog in the back garden . Think he's removed enough fur to make a new dog !

Off to granny's for lunch today , I think today will be roast ham (my kids call it pink meat !)

Due to be a lovely day here today . 17 degrees and sunny , that's positively tropical for NI Grin

What ever you are all up to today , hope its lovely x

coorong · 05/05/2013 10:22

jchip you need a panda (or two) to get rid of the bamboo". That way you can sell tickets when they have babies

trice · 05/05/2013 11:49

Morning all. Both children have gone on a sleep over so it has all gone quiet around here.

I thought the end of the voice was a bit lame, but then I really would prefer it if they did some sewing! I don't like the style of over singing every note.

KurriKurri · 05/05/2013 12:06

Morning all, - another late night for DH so I am shattered this morning, also had to get up to deal with dog in the night as she had a turn, wee'd all over everthing and then lay in it Sad (DH slept through this) - DH is looking strained this morning because he 'has a headache' - I am lacking in sympathy. Hey ho.

Meal sounds good Malt, I'm glad you enjoyed it Smile

Copt - sorry your DH dicked about in the restaurant Sad It gets tiring doesn't it when you are constantly on edge regarding possible bad behaviour.

I am feeling hard done by because I have no Lakeland catalogue to peruse (good word! Grin),

I have gardening planned for today - dahlia tubers to plant, and potting out some of my seedlings. I will not be nude - my neighbours don't deserve that.

Castle (I think I added a 'the' that shouldn't be there) is a detective series HERE from America - supposed to be good - we didn't actually get round to watching it last night in the end. I have seen that film you mentioned though Gig and it is also good.

Good luck with bamboo wrangling jchoc - I don't envy you, I would guess it is a bugger to get out. I'd go with coorong's panda suggestion Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 05/05/2013 12:57

may I grizzle ? though i feel a bit childish - dh rang mil who had BIL staying over and though they talked about his family and T's exams etc he didn't ask about how I was doing, and neither did dh bother to say- well MAS is doing ok etc...sorry- that was self indulgent. There's a history of them not acknowledging anything to do with my 'cancer journey' (sic) apart from the occassional is MAS ok - but given that they very rarely phone one another you'd think they might enquire. It's put me ridiculously out of sorts and cross.
Feel better having said that...will now cast it from my mind.

OP posts:
Gigondas · 05/05/2013 13:08

Yes you can grizzle - it's pretty clumsy at best although maybe that might be cos it's awkward. Is it the fair today mas?

Been out for walk to playground (and had coffee and Reuben's bun to help). Very proud as walked all the way and was out for over an hour. I do need to think of way to support my arm - sling out of question as have neck scars/weak so maybe I have to prop it in my coat napoleon style?

KurriKurri · 05/05/2013 13:31

Yes grizzle away MAS - I know they have fro for this sort of thing from things you have said before - it is rude and hurtful, but maybe as Gigs says due to awkwardness. Don' let it spoil you day though, enjoy your fete and you Dad's playing. Smile

Well done on the walk Gig, you are definitely making progress Smile - i don't know how you can support your arm though, Napoleon style in coat is fine until you get hot and need to take your coat off! Hmm - will put my Dragon's Den hat on and have a think Grin

Old lady dog has had a bath (because she smelt of wee Queen Mum stylee) she is no longe talking to me and when she got out of the bath deliberately did a wee on the towel. The house stinks of wee, hooray! And I have had a colour run accident in the wash - everything has gone a dark greeny grey - towels, bras, and the white stripes on DH's rugby shirt. Will have to get some of that run rescue stuff.

DD has gone out for lunch with her friend, DH gone to Waitrose - I have requested 'something nice to go with my coffee' - we will see what he brings home - probably a computer magazine Hmm Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 05/05/2013 13:49

thanks both, I don't think it's awkwardness though, they just don't think I reckon. Anyway enough of them. Would the pouch pocket of a hoody be a good armrest- actually, that's probably too low down to be much use..
It is the fete this afternoon,so off shortly.

OP posts:
coorong · 05/05/2013 14:48

Gig, I reckon a expensive shoulder bag .... purely for medical purposes - might help support your arm - Gucci? Mulberry? Fendi

otherwise, a pouch pocked sewn slightly higher up, or double breasted coats (they have a wider napoleon style support)

Gigondas · 05/05/2013 15:23

Great minds coorong - have one on order from shanghai tang Grin.

The coat sling could work as have double breasted mac.

Have had a daft moment as tripped upstairs in my flip flops which didn't help arm- eating chocolate to ease pain now .

coorong · 05/05/2013 15:30

chocolate is a known curative ... all those aunty-oxidents Grin particulary lindt dark chocolate with hazelnut, well established medicinal properties see
Wonka, W 1959 The uses of Theobroma cacao to cure anything. BMJC volume 23:1

NedSchneebly · 05/05/2013 15:41

afternoon you bunch of lovely ladies Smile Am a bit Shock and Grin at the thought of you lot naked gardening.. .

thanks for the wagamamma recommendations, all. I shall report back later!

Nice day here too, if a little breezy. Met ILs half way between us and them to deliver DS (heaven forbid they might come here Sad Angry ) and then nice time at local food festival. Part of it was the Dorset Knob Throwing competition here Many possible jokes around knobs, and had a little snigger (or a snurk sometimes) on all your behalfs. There was also a "pin the knob on the Cerne Abbas giant" this rather fine chap - think pin the tail on the donkey with one, very fundamental, difference - very amusing!

DH busy in the garden, muttering things about bindweed and penstemons. . . I am enjoying having a monopoly on the computer/ ipad with no DS!

kurri - what did DH bring you home from the supermarket - am dying to know!

MAS hope fete fun and that your dad playing beautifully. Ignore DBIL - men are mostly fundamentally crap at these things, I find (sorry mrgigs, am sure you are a wonderful exception Wink ). Good to have got it off your chest though. Did you say anything to DH? When do Ts exams start? Hope his preparations are going well x

gig good work on the walk, my love - that is definite progress! Hope the sunshine cheered you too. Could you not get one of those slings that do right around your back/ ribcage, rather than just hanging from your neck? I think they use them for broken shoulders??? like this?? Might be talking out of my arse, so feel free to ignore me. . .

malt glad you had a nice meal out Smile

DH just finished in the garden so Brew on. Any takers??

coorong · 05/05/2013 16:00

yes please on the Brew am writing lesson plans for BTEC students - not the easiest ... now speaking of knobs I grew up near this Iron Knob. For entertainment we used to go out and watch them blow holes int he sides of hills to get the ore out .... not a lot went on where we grew up, and the telly didn't come on until 6pm...

EarthMotherImNot · 05/05/2013 17:17

Does anyone have any idea if breast, plus bone secondary treatment affects ones teeth. I know I'm pushing 60 but I seem to be losing teeth on a very regular basis and I've inexplicably chipped both my upper front teeth this weekend. A distinct v shaped piece out of both. Also should I try and find an NHS dentist (don't have one) or ask hospital.

On top of everything else this seems very minor but still. No pain in teeth BTWSmile

malteserzz · 05/05/2013 17:18

Sounds like you're all having nice days
I'm struggling a bit, keep thinking this is the last nice weekend we'll all have together and imagining how dh is going to cope when I'm gone
I've held it together all day and we've had a lovely time but it's so hard

MaryAnnSingleton · 05/05/2013 17:21

Had a jolly time at the fete- lots of dogs to look at and little girls dancing, candyfloss and some nice beer for dh.Dad's band played very well too.
Didn't say anything to dh,though I think he knew why I was a bit cross.
T;s exams start on 18th btw. Hope Waga is delicious ned

MaryAnnSingleton · 05/05/2013 17:24

malt am pretty sure you won't be going anywhere and that there'll be loads of fab weekends to come- remember we've been through this bit too and are still here having a pretty good life on the whole !

OP posts:
amberlight · 05/05/2013 17:38

Earth, I'd ask your hospital lot for their best advice. They may have a way to get you to an NHS one fairly promptly?
