T is back from the trenches with suitably misty, moody photos- have put them on fb-.
Dh is going over to watch rugby with dad (and some beers)
Hope Old Lady dog is feeling chipper today, bless her.
Hope topsy's head isn't spinning too much and that big gig enjoys the party.
Bit of work today and probably walk to town with dh for some air.

MORNING TOPSY HOPE THE HEAD OK AFTER YOUR DRUNKEN NIGHT.

Poor little lady dog kurri. That must have been very scary. Hope she is feeling better this morning.

smee and Jchoc I am exhausted just reading about your exercise. Walking the dog is about all I can manage.

Glad T had a good trip mas. Hope your hands are continuing to improve.

Shock copthall hopefully that stupid admin learned her lesson and is a little more careful now.

waves to everyone and hugs to those who need it. otm, frank and invicta if you are lurking hope all ok with you.

graciesmall09 · 17/11/2012 09:35

Completely missed this last page. Enjoy your rugby free zone today gigs and enjoy the party if you can enjoy a kids party. Unfortunately DH has already booked the sofa for the rugby this afternoon.

Gigondas · 17/11/2012 11:12

Do you need some of my spare Dom peridone topsy?
mas hope hands ease up - boys photos on fb are amazing. He has a real eye for it.

topsyturner · 17/11/2012 11:24

Whenever you say Dom peridon I think you are offering Dom Perignon !
Must be my booze ridden brain ... Grin

T really does have a talent with his camera Mas . He takes fantastic pics .

Copthallresident · 17/11/2012 11:27

Gigs Our GPs have always been a bit indifferent which is a bit miffing really, I mean I had Cancer, I expect if not a red carpet, at least a patronising pat. DH also off to Rugby this aft, he's all excited, got his lucky Rugby boxers on and everything. I am going to put sharp objects on the sofa ready for his return.

KK Would old lady dog like some excitement? I can send over goon dog. He has a thing for old lady dogs, has since he was adolescent. I think he is so far down the pack hierarchy it's the best he can hope for, bless but he does make a lot of old lady dogs very happy. I have had owners worried he was going to give their old lady dogs a heart attack!!!

Topsy HELLO! FEELING A BIT DELICATE ARE WE? (hands over 2 litre bottle of diet coke )

topsyturner · 17/11/2012 11:29

Have had a Red Bull , a Lucazade , and a coffee . Think I'm starting to feel a little more human now .
Got 1/2 hour to get showered and dressed before horse riding (DD not me !)
Think I can persuade the friend who goes with me to stop off for some KFC ???

DS has to get his hair cut today . May need to deploy duct tape as he doesn't want it cutting .

Then it's Tesco Hell this afternoon .

Where's my postie , still waiting for my crochet hooks ...

topsyturner · 17/11/2012 11:30

Oh Copthall , thank god for that !
You are the only person who comprehends the need for fizzy drinks after one or two bottles glasses of wine Grin

Copthallresident · 17/11/2012 12:21

Topsy I am sure it was worth it though! You should come over, DH is cooking a huge pre Rugby fry up, presumably in anticipation...... BTW when I say I am going to cover the sofa with sharp objects to deter post Rugby snoring I could of course use MY LARGE COLLECTION OF CROCHET HOOKS Grin

Gigondas · 17/11/2012 13:02

Any chance I can borrow some crochet hooks for my dh copthall as I only have knitting needles.

Am sure KFC will sort you out topsy but not sure tescos will help.

topsyturner · 17/11/2012 13:08

They arrived !!!!!
They are all different colours and soooo pretty !
Stuff you and your copious collection of crochet hooks Copthall Grin

Copthallresident · 17/11/2012 13:18

Topsy Yippee! Postman must have finished his doily! Please can you ask the postman to also take off my "desert hugs" and deliver them to me? I had a text saying they were going to be delivered in the next 24 / 48 hours 5 days ago and my DD is very frustrated she can't wear them tonight on unauthorised loan.

Gigondas Throws some over the rooftops. The trouble with knitting needles is they bend them. They are actually strewn across the sofa already as a result of my latest Killing jumper project, with stags and fairisle, I plan to solve Scandinavian murders in it.

topsyturner · 17/11/2012 13:33

WTF are desert hugs ????
Grin at Killing Jumper

KurriKurri · 17/11/2012 13:34

Grin at Copthall and Goon Dog - I won't even pass the message on to Old Lady Dog - she would be shocked to her very core Shock, she is not interested in boy dogs, - never has been, but there is a fluffy dog basket which has come in for some manic humping attention over the years. I never knew girls dogs humped stuff until we got this one!

But she too old for that kind of nonsense now rather like me Grin
She's been OK so far today, has eaten some shapes and a bit of left over porridge, so is happily curled up by the radiator.

Have to say - I am Shock at your admin person story, but unfortunately not surprised. I have had similar incidents in hospital - with the cancer (being scared to death by random people who didn't even know me, finding my notes lying about on the counter of the chemo unit where any member of the public could see them.) Also as Gig says, I've had miscarriages and had some seriously tactless comments from hospital staff.

I have had some first rate treatment though on other occasions, and my GP is lovely phoned me for a chat when I was DX (even though I'd seen the duty doctor for a referral), and he's always been very caring.

Topsy, TOPSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY - how is the head? Grin
I Envy your crochet hooks, I love those pretty coloured ones.

Gig more Howard's way would be fab, but don't feel there's any rush, when and if you can is fine. Hope your mum is enjoying them. (Is it very wrong that I'm starting to find Ken a bit sexy, - despite his white polo necks and white trousers?). The clothes are amazing - I had a nightmare about one dress that Abby had on - it was the scariest thing I've ever seen Grin

MAS - I'm glad T had a good trip and managed to take some photos. My DD did the battle fields trip when she was his age, - joint English and History trip - and she was really moved by it. Has he seen the Blackadder episode where the soldiers go over the top? - very moving, even though its a comedy programme.
Oh and DD really enjoyed Pat Barker's Regeneration Trilogy about WW1, - he might like to read that too.

gracie and ned - hope you are both feeling a bit better this morning, and itching is getting under control.

Copthallresident · 17/11/2012 14:04

KK Aww, he is very handsome, has been known to stir passions in old lady dogs their owners didn't know they had! Must say I didn't know lady dogs humped either, goon dog humps only my friends, the closer the more he humps them, I think he is a bit confused ..... Glad she is contented today. He is fixing me with his "Move tha sen woman (he is from Yorkshire and has a broad Yorkshire accent) and tak me for a walk." stare. That's his life really, 23 hours of hope and 1 of fulfilment.

Topsy www.clarks.co.uk/p/20351905 Reminders of my youth, lined with a comfort blanket, how sad is that what more could you want? Whilst I'm googling www.knitrowan.com/designs-and-patterns/patterns/wilhelmina I am sure all Scandinavian Murderers are quaking in their boots.

MaryAnnSingleton · 17/11/2012 14:48

am going to clean the floors while ds and dh out at grandpa's...
Think ds must've seen the Blackadder as I've watched it many times- am sure in his own way he was very moved (who wouldn't be) but he is a reserved pup. My favourite photo, apart from the beautiful autumnal one of the grassed over trenches is the Jewish soldier's grave in the German cemetery - a stone among the iron crosses with the little stones on top that visitors have left.
Righto,must crack on.

MAS, you're making me feel guilty. I should clean our bathroom as babysitter's coming later and though she's not at all fussy, I can't quite bear to leave it as it is...

I used to have a pair of boots like that, Copthall. Not fleecy, but v.similar. Smile

Ned, how's the itching and the skin?? Hope getting better bit by bit. I'd bet the mammo results are still making you smile. Smile

Kurri, hope little-old-lady-dog's more stable now. Can I just say a huge thank you for finding those times tables games on-line for me. Arrived yesterday, so ds and I played the 6x table one this morning and it's brilliant. Smile

I've been lucky with GP's, but did have a row with one of our group practice when I was having chemo. I had to get some antibiotics for a chest infection, but when I said I was okay apart from the infection, he told me I was lying as apparently us women get all emotional and can't cope. He had some kooky theory that it's primal because my breast had been loped off, so clearly I should be in bits all the time. I told him he was being deeply patronising and that actually I was mighty glad it was in my breast as at least that was a bit of me that could be loped off. He went a bit pale, but did shut up. Grin

Hope Topsy's surviving Tescos mad fool Am hiding my can of PepsiMax from Topsy, as I need to wake up, am feeling v.sleepy today. Off out tonight to a party. What's everyone else up to??

KurriKurri · 17/11/2012 18:16

Aww - I'm really pleased they were useful Smee, and DS likes his game Smile

MaryAnnSingleton · 17/11/2012 18:30

Hi everyone, have just had a skim through your latest stories - hope MAS's hands are improving and that Ned is feeling stronger now.

I went to see Skyfall last night with DH (part of our campaign to distract ourselves from the empty nest...). I'm not a great Bond fan but I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Now DH has gone to Chester and from there will go the boat tomorrow so I have a nice quiet evening - need to wrap up dozens of parcels for my great nieces and nephews so am glad to have some uninterrupted time ... but you'll note I'm delaying actually starting by being on here...

Went to a friend's coffee morning today and it was great as they had lots of Barefoot books at half price - so that's sorted out a lot of the presents this year. We're going to visit friends in Stuttgart in December so with the Christmas market there too, I should be sorted. Marzipan sweets and German ginger cake for everyone.

I hope everyone is enjoying a nice w/e. I'm really looking forward to Christmas this year as DCs will be back from London and I'm having a nice long break - can't wait! Sofa is strewn with recipe books etc. (Can't knit but do like cooking!)
x

Hi again, OMG, I just read that thread called Whatislivinginsidemeandhow canIkillit?

I'm ready to faint - definitely prefer to be on this thread despite all we've been through!!!

Gigondas · 18/11/2012 08:05

Hi sr - Shock and bleurgh at that thread.

How is everyone? After party yesterday off for lunch with friends today and can offload some baby clothes as she is due in January (yay as have been trying to do a clear out).

MaryAnnSingleton · 18/11/2012 09:51

hands still sore and appalling bout of diarrhoea (apologies for that) - I guess the poison must linger. Did some work though and hope to today. Beautiful sunny day !
