Am working but tummy much better- hands not but I can hold my pen..am not good at not doing and reckon I'd feel miserable if I stopped- plus have nice stuff to listen to on radio and iPad and the promise of hot chocolate with my friend later on. Am having lots of breaks !

sometimes you must get to know lots of stuff about all kinds of odd subjects in your line of work- don't work yourself too hrd though...have you a treat to look forward to ?

Ah yes, there was a time when I knew all there was to know about PVCu windows. That was a high point in my life Hmm

And there was the time I worked for the regional office of a very well known national housebuilder. All the PR officers had to have a weekly phone catch up on homebuyers complaints. That was fun. I remember one site where the drainage was er.... not adequate, and the local paper took a photo of a housebuyer paddling in a canoe on his back lawn Grin

I agree with you, MAS, working does feel right sometimes even if you are a bit off. Keeps things normal.

Things have calmed down here a bit for now. I have stuff to do, but a bit more time to think about it properly first, and also to slot in those all-important treats.

Topsy - hope the post included your new purchases.

Waving to smee.....

topsyturner · 16/11/2012 13:53

Lovely new aqua baby Cashmarino wool arrived in the post , but no crochet hooks .
Noooooooooo !!!

Do you think the postman's snaffled them, Topsy? Grin

MAS, how are you feeling?? Hope a bit better. I get the keeping working thing too. Definitely kept me sane(ish!) going through it all.

topsyturner · 16/11/2012 16:57

Having visions of my postie , hiding down an alley , furtively crocheting ... Grin

NedSchneebly · 16/11/2012 17:14

Evening all Smile

Sorry, been absent a bit this week. Been very low and wobbly, with rash still present and boob turned a scary shade of scarlet. Ended up having big soggy cry small wobble with Dr Lovely yesterday, who had good poke and said could be an infection, maybe cellulitis, but almost certainly not inflammatory breast cancer (I know, smack me now, I should know by now that Dr. Google is not my friend. . . ). Gave me steroids for itchy rash and antibiotics for boob.

Rang BCN, who got me a clinic appointment for this morning - doc not worried, but ordered ultrasound to be sure, and then they said they would do my mammogram too, which is due next month. Both considered CLEAR!!!!! Unofficially, but from radiology consultant, who did ultrasound and had looked at mammo, and I hope he wouldnt say anything if he wasnt sure they were clear.

Anyway, have calmed down a bit now, just rather Blush for having made a big, soggy, blubbery fuss. . .

Seeing Dr Lovely again on Monday to see what progress with antibiotics and steroids. Not convinced much as changed yet.

Sorry for self indulgent post, and sorry for being crap and self indulgent, when others have so much more real, proper scary stuff to worry about. That's why I thought I would be best keeping myself to myself for a bit.

I loves you all lots and lots x x x x

MaryAnnSingleton · 16/11/2012 17:42

oh ned you poor girl - you are allowed to be wibbly on here and quite understand how worried you were but hooray that everything looks fine in the mammo - Dr Lovely does sound lovely.
Did your package arrive ?
smee I have done some work-feel guilty for not pushing myself more, but am trying to be sensible. Had nice break to have hot choc with friend at waitrose cafe - came out with nice soap, popcorn, mouth wash, yogurt, mini rolos and 4 bars of Fry's Turkish delight Blush only intended to get soap and mouthwash

graciesmall09 · 16/11/2012 18:01

Aw hugs to you ned but super news that you are all clear. It is hard not to worry. Really hope your antibiotics and steroids sort the problem out.

mas glad you are feeling a bit brighter. Hope the hands are improving.

Bah re: crochet hook topsy, dare I ask what you are going to crochet? Will pick you up Monday after appointment.

Decorator has finally left so hopefully I will have the house in some order by Monday soon. Have gone a bit mad the last couple of days internet shopping so really need to wise up and stop spending money.

Glad you are having a fab time amber.

Anyone planning an exciting weekend? No great plans here.

Copthallresident · 16/11/2012 19:22

Ned You are not allowed to be Blush for being blubbery or self indulgent because then the rest of us will have to Blush too when we feel the same way. After all we have been through we are entitled!! It is always horrible and reawakens old fears and trauma but glad you are CLEAR.

I once Blush passed out at a scan, the ditsy admin person called me over after, when they keep you back in case there are any problems and they need another go, and asked me whether I had a coil. This started my mind on overdrive, a curly tumour in my uterus? (Thankfully no iphone / access to google ) and then I looked down and she had in front of her a piece of paper with a human outline with black blobs on it everywhere and lines to them with measurements, at that point it was clear to me that this was me and I was riddled with the br and I fell off my chair, out cold. Felt very Blush when I came around and the embarassed admin person was being torn off a strip by the nurse.... Of course it would have helped if I had registered the words Male and Age 78........

KurriKurri · 16/11/2012 20:27

Sorry - I've got all behind with your posts, I'm reading through them gradually !

Have really just run in to enfold my lovely Ned in a big hug - it's horrible when everything gets on top of you sweetie, and you start to worry about things, - and feeling so uncomfortable is bound to make you low. I'm glad they got moving at the hospital and have reassured you.

Try to relax over the weekend and give the gorgeous little Ned (and Mr Ned) lots of cuddles. I also prescribe chocolate. I am nearly finished with Gig's Howard's Way and will pop it in the post to you asap - sorry I've been so long - I am slow at watching stuff - mainly because Other People hog the telly Hmm

Waving hello at everyone, sorry to have been absent - felt a bit under the weather yesterday.

And this morning Old lady Dog had a very big seizure - she was unconscious for about fifteen minutes and I thought we had lost her, but she came round eventually (but unfortunately had wet herself on our duvet, and got covered in wee - so I had to wash duvet, bedclothes and dog this morning).
Once she comes out of it, she is OK - but it is scary to watch, but she's not in any pain, and afterwards she tottered into the kitchen and threw her bowl at me demanding breakfast Smile

Had my flu jab this afternoon, my arm is just starting to stiffen up a bit now.

I offer love to all, and spicy fruit bread (made by Dh's fair hand) for the trolley. xx

KurriKurri · 16/11/2012 20:29

Oh and if that horrid choir woman is upsetting you, I will come and duff her up tell her off, next time I'm in Dorset Grin

smee · 16/11/2012 20:39

((((hugs for Ned from me too)))) You must definitely wibble on here. As Copthall says the rest of us can't if you don't. So fab that they gave you the mammo and scan though. If it makes you feel any better, I had a CT at end of rads due to huge wibbles.

Copthall, that story's terrifying. Shock

Sad about little old lady dog. Hope she doesn't have any more seizures, must be horrid to see her like that.

MAS, what time's DS back? Hope you're feeling okay. How long after you stop taking the drugs do you normally feel a bit better? Is it soon?

Smug Smee has cycled to pool, swam and tootled home. Completely cream crackered now, but have promised to cook a pilaf for supper. Already 8.30 and haven't started. wine might be the answer..

jchocchip · 16/11/2012 20:41

Hello everyone - looks like I've missed loads. (doggy hugs) to old lady dog - sounds like a busy day kk. (hugs) to ned, I can take a shift on the paranoia box while I watch Doc Martin on ITV3. Great that you have the all clear.

bah about the crochet hooks topsy

Mmmm

I may be back properly soon, have had an unexpected bonus from work (the promised £250 from about 2 years ago turned up this month) and I have ordered a new tablet phone thingy :) Can't keep up when using the computer, I like to mn while watching tv of an evening...

Have a new S188 letter and it looks like about 13 FTE to lose from the department :( I'm going to apply for a new job in another department this weekend...

jchocchip · 16/11/2012 20:45

xpost smee - well done on your cycle and swim. I put in a quick 20 lengths at lunchtime - benefit of working from home :)

DD2 is home to see the cat, nice to have her here. She has a choice of 3 new projects to start on while she is here.

Def time for Wine, cheers.

Copthallresident · 16/11/2012 21:54

smee not really, lasted 10 mins at the most compared with the nights of worrying and wibbling we have all had/ have. The poor adminer though, quite a way to be shocked out of the "whateva" school of interpersonal skills.

KK aww at old lady dog.

topsyturner · 16/11/2012 23:40

Haven't read back so apologies to anything important I have missed .
But message for Gigs
Falcon - sky1 = Montalbano in Spain !!!
It's very very very good !

topsyturner · 16/11/2012 23:42

Oh kk , poor old lady dog . Pig/dog sends his favourite chew toy and some pig ears xxx

MaryAnnSingleton · 16/11/2012 23:51

Poor Old lady dog KK Sad so awful for you to see that- hugs to you and to her
Jane - you and smee are so good with your swimmingGrin puts me to shame. Hope job application goes well x
T is home and had a good trip - lots of foggy rather bleak photos. They had coffee in Arras which I vaguely remember visiting aeons ago and having lunch there.
I usually feel better after a few days of no pills - hands take a while to resemble hands.

KurriKurri · 16/11/2012 23:56

Thank you pig/dog Smile

She's a bit tired and wobbly this evening, - poor old girl.

The spicy fruit bread is excellent with a bit of cheese (flings mature cheddar onto the trolley)

topsyturner · 17/11/2012 00:02

Have had pub night with my friend .
Involves wine , cheese , crackers , olives , houmous , pittas .
Was luffly .
Am a leetle bit drunk though ... Grin

Gigondas · 17/11/2012 07:08

Hands topsy Brew and paracetamol. Thanks for tip on falcon as was wondering if it would fill the montalbano void. Apparently they are making young montalbano.

ned so sorry that you have had such a horrid worrying time (and I know how horribly tempting but unhelpful it is to look at google) but Grin that scans were clear. Take it easy this weekend - wishing you a nice itch free time.

jchoc good luck with job app but nice need about new phone.

kurri I will try and pry the other Howard's way DVDs from mg mother. Glad old lady dog ok but it must have been very scary for you.

copthall I would say I am shocked at admin staff story except I am not. My experience ESP of miscarriage is that staff can be incredibly crass . I notice my Gp are a lot nicer now but shame it takes getting cancer to see that change Hmm.

Dh off to rugby today so I have treat of taking big gig to a party.
