The appointment has finally come round for ds 11yrs to be tested to see if he has the same cardiac condition as me I am praying he hasn't and have started to really feel shakey as the day approaches(tomorrow)He is fairly cool about it although I have played down the serious side until we are 100% sure We are going to the cinema and for a pizza afterwards so that has distracted him just me and dp to calm down now!

noddyholder · 22/03/2006 18:14

NomDePlume · 22/03/2006 18:16

You really shouldn't feel guilty, it's not your fault that you have the condition (but then you know that already Smile). Those odds don't sound all that bleak to me, noddy. I'll be thinking of you x

Kidstrack2 · 22/03/2006 18:17

Best wishes for boy tommorow, hoping all is clear, just being nosey/interested, tell me to bog off if you want, but did you have symptoms at a young age of your condition/or born with it or found out by chance

noddyholder · 22/03/2006 18:17

There is a slim chance also that mine is a mutated form as my parents are both still alive and normally one very close relative has died young but none in my family so minute chance that only I have it but docs say don't bet on it

I had kidney failure as a teenager and had a transplant which lasted til I was 35 When I came to have another transplant in 2000 the tests showed up an abnormality in my heart.I assumed it was caused by all my yrs of ill health but the doctors say it is congenital and completely seperate.I only started getting symptoms im my thirties and none during pregnancy at allxx
