Woooohooooo!!! Well done Jaq!
Bitchy, I think that way of eating (where your meals decrease in size as day goes on) is meant to be quite good. I've had a small go at that today, made a big lunch and will have smaller dinner.
Bella, yay for DS! and good question on DS, nothing is settled! The CM I was using across the street from me would be ideal, but she's got too many kids during weekdays to have DS. I know if I went in during evening or night she'd have him though.
If I go for the ELCS on the day I think I'm going to get, I have a friend standing by who can have him for the day until DH can get back to him.
We'll cobble something together anyway, have two other neighbours that would help out in a pinch and other friends from playgroup that could help if need be.
I asked DH the other day if he thought maybe his mum would come up from London for a few days so DS could stay at home with her, but was mostly kidding. His parents have never been up here since we moved 4+ years ago, and they're not likely to make the effort. To be fair, they both have some health problems, but they are incredibly rigid with their routines. Just following the same patterns for years, waiting to die, and they're only in their 60s!
And it's not like if we go down there it's much different. They are interested in us/DS for about a half hour, and then they just go about their business of watching shit on telly and doing crosswords. Like visiting a care home! We've been going down less and less, partly because of the petrol cost, but partly because we don't see the point.
Actually makes me quite annoyed when I really think of it because my parents would love to see DS 3-4 times a year or more, and they would DO stuff with him and PLAY with him and be thrilled to give over an entire weekend to enjoying DS's company!
Sorry for the long rant---obviously it's getting to me more than I'd realised!
