Really ned ? Didn't know that . Hmm interesting . Luckily I have a willing line up of medically minded people who are willing to stab me if I can't manage it myself !

Gigs you need time to assimilate (more Borg references !) what you have been told . Takes time to sink in .
And to be honest , I was permanently knackered when I was having rads . So you have that to cope with too .

Beautiful day here today .
I have 3 girls making cookies in my kitchen wearing shorts and t shirts !
First batch have been cooked and eaten already !
2nd batch in the oven .
3rd batch may not get near the oven as they are eating the raw dough Grin

amberlight · 03/05/2012 16:14

Hemp milk?? I had no idea it produced milk! Shock Well I never!

Arrgh day at work. Now to pack like mad ready to get over to college at the crack of dawn tomorrow to lead a spirituality weekend. Eee, the fun I have...

Gigondas · 03/05/2012 16:53

You can make it apparently. You can tell I am out for the count as my tolerance for woo shite is high (not that soy avoidance is woo ) . Have agreed to speak to a homeopath to help with shock (strictly on a complementary basis).

Can I eat some cookie dough too to readdress my normal levels?

Our weekend plan is to go to France - am hoping that will restore things (and the fbs trolley).

Oh and my sister has agreed to help me with wig shopping... This could be interesting Grin

Gigondas · 03/05/2012 16:56

topsy remember no one can inject you without a hat and a doctorate from holby or like me , they come from county general Chicago. I am afraid mere injections are beneath me- my experience is in multiple car crashes and disappearing into the supply cupboard with Doug Ross or that dishy Croat bloke.

NedSchneebly · 03/05/2012 17:05

Raw dough surely the way forward, in the circumstances. Glad you're getting away this weekend, gig sounds like a great plan. Can you pick me up some gooey Brie please?! Sending you lots of hugs x x

Sounds interesting amber hope weekend goes well for you.

Christchurch is lovely sometimes the priory is fab if you've not been before, and you like that kind of thing! Local weather forecast ok for Saturday and Sunday, Monday bit damper. fingers crossed!

NedSchneebly · 03/05/2012 17:10

I didn't get a hat or anything. . . Did get some wipes Hmm but not quite the same as kurri's full on holby city kit. Not too much to it, fairly disappointingly non dramatic really! Would do doug Ross gig - definitely with you on that one!

Gigondas · 03/05/2012 17:11

That is unfair no hat and no Doug Ross to administer the jabs Wink

topsyturner · 03/05/2012 17:20

Erm are you referring to the ever so luscious Dr Luka Kovac ???
I luffs him lots .
And he is not orange !!!

I would like some Orangina and some patisserie goods from French France please .

MaryAnnSingleton · 03/05/2012 17:28

please may I have a chunk of Cantal or Comté gig ? that sounds just the thing -weekend in lovely France.
My ER doctor of choice will always be Dr Greene though Luka very fine looking man too.
Good luck amber with your spirituality thing !
gig if not too woo I think meditation is pretty good- I try to do it most days (did a Mindfulness meditation course a year or two ago)

graciesmall09 · 03/05/2012 17:34

Missed loads as usual.

France sounds like a great plan. Can I have some brie please? I took DH wig shopping gigs. At one point he was nearly kicked out for laughing Hmm. Some of them were a bit rare looking but I reckon mine looks fab Wink well too bad if it doesn't because I'm going to wear it anyway.

amber sorry meant to say earlier thanks for having a look about the chemo. I read somewhere else that 4 types were best but can't see the onc taking too kindly to me suggesting he needs to relook at things Grin

topsy your holiday sounds lovely. Last couple of years we have gone the other direction to Wicklow and had a fab time. Nowhere for us this year Sad.
Raw cookie dough is nicer than cooked in my opinion as is raw cake mixture.

Dr Green or Dr Carter were my favs

Gigondas · 03/05/2012 18:06

Will note all the orders .

No meditation is sensible- am following your mindfulness suggestion. Was also suggested two new apps by pzizz - one to energise and one to help sleep.

jchocchip · 03/05/2012 18:43

Just read through 6! pages - back in the land of internet now :) Lazy day travelling by train watching the world go by.

(hugs) to gig, france sounds a good idea. It's nearly france here (french being spoken and good patisseries)

waves to everyone else. Hope smee is ok.

NedSchneebly · 03/05/2012 18:44

I had a mentor when I was on teacher training who was the spitting image of dr Greene, with the American accent to boot. Completely gorgeous and brilliant teacher too. But of a distraction in planning meetings though. . . Blush

NedSchneebly · 03/05/2012 18:57

Has the hair started going gracie? Bet your wig looks fab- wear with pride and don't give any thought to what anyone else thinks!

graciesmall09 · 03/05/2012 19:22

ned no hasn't gone yet although I do think it is starting. Feels a bit thinner than normal and I can notice it on my brush. BCN told me 17 days after 1st chemo so I am at Day 15. Have tried the wig on a few times, looks better than my own but how it will look with no eyebrows or eyelashes is anyone's guess Grin. On a positive note haven't needed to shave my legs so think body hair going first Blush. www.nbc.com/ER/wherearetheynow/anthony_edwards.shtml

MaryAnnSingleton · 03/05/2012 19:33

lovely Dr Greene- I like a less obvious man, which is why I adore Christopher Eccleston..
Have fun jane !
smee are you home yet ? or staying in - hope all went well x

topsyturner · 03/05/2012 19:35

When it goes , it goes quite quickly gracie . Mine was quite long so it felt like it was coming out literally by the handful .
I ended up clippering the rest of it off as I looked like a refugee from Chernobyl ...

Where are the pics of Handsome Dr Luka Kovac ???

KurriKurri · 03/05/2012 19:46

Evening all, - I've been out to Yoga this morning (the teacher thought up some incredibly hard postures and now I ache), and art club this afternoon.

Gig, well done for getting your new jeans and lippy on and going out. You will feel as if you've been hit by a truck emotionally, - and I echo what topsy says - ask for something from the GP if you think it would help. I think the trip to France is a really good idea, - it will help you to get away and have some time to get your head round things.

I'm all for whatever helps when it comes to emotions and mental stress, woo is good in my book if it works for you. My yoga teacher made me a Yoga Nidra CD for when I was having problems sleeping - it is a total body relaxation, - it goes through every part of your body, helping you relax each muscle and I find it really good, - if you think it might help, PM me your address and I'll send it to you Smile

Bank holiday plans sound good, enjoy your trip to Bournemouth Sometimes, - hope you get decent weather, - I often used to swim on Bournemouth beach as a teenager, and there used to be an ice skating rink in the town - but it was years ago, so may have disappeared now.

We're going to see DS and DDIL, - I plan to drive there and back - which will be an 80 mile round trip - so wish me luck!

Waving to everyone and sending love. DH is making some rock cakes for a coffee morning at his work tomorrow, so I'll put a load few for the trolley when they are done.

graciesmall09 · 03/05/2012 19:59

Just for Topsy www.freewebs.com/lukalover/allaboutgoran.htm

kurri have a lovely time at DS and DDIL and good luck with the driving. I'm very impressed at your DH making rock cakes.

Amber enjoy your weekend.

Sigh ...

KurriKurri · 03/05/2012 20:22

Ooh Christopher and Benedict all in one sentence - someone throw a bucket of water over me Grin

topsyturner · 03/05/2012 20:28

Just had a mental image of a Christopher/Benedict sandwich ...
Surprised I can still type Grin
