Nightisyoung - just wanted to say hi, hope you get good news from your scan.

Smee - my stomach was also very squiffy after ga, much better now so hope yours soon settles down. Gig's post just reminded me that I bought some pro-biotic yogurt drinks yesterday, but so far have forgotten to take them, will do it now!

Gig - hope you are managing to get some rest this weekend. I share your fear of chemo and fully expect to be told I need it when I go for my results. I don't suppose anyone looks forward to it, but just wanted you to know you're not alone with your worries.

Waves to everyone else - will put my thornton's choccies on the fbs trolley for you all to share xx

thenightisyoung · 06/05/2012 17:50

Smee my results will be ready towards the end of the week hopefully. At my hospital there is a "no news is good news" process so you will only get called in if there is something to discuss. This does my anxiety no good at all so I have arranged with the nurse specialist to phone her for results. Although it means that I may get bad news by phone it would be the same thing if I get called in for an appointment so at least this way I will know for sure if it's clear rather than waiting till my next scheduled appointment in late June.

Very proud of myself as I ran for 28 minutes today :) (doing C25K for the second time!). Nearly back to where I was before my operation in January which I never thought I would be.

All best wishes for those facing chemo and hair loss - what a lovely funny story *greylady" :)

graciesmall09 · 06/05/2012 18:16

gigs and 1step my lovely surgeon and bcn pre-warned me not to be concerned about the amount of treatment I would get (and this was even before I had my lumpectomy) as sometimes the younger you are the more treatment they throw at you but also each person's treatment is individual and just because you have a lot of treatment doesn't mean you case is any worse than the next person its just a different course. Hope that makes sense. Thinking of you both.

thenightisyoung I'm like you I can't wait for results. My poor bcn was plagued by me for first my x-rays and then CT and MRI results. Hope you results are good.

Just wondering are you allowed probiotic drinks when having chemo? I'm almost sure I read on a discussion on Macmillan that you shouldn't have it when having chemo but I can't find it now.

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/05/2012 18:21

yes,am sure that the younger you are the more treatment is given-for example women a few years younger than me with same dx were given chemotherapy - all the stats are put into the mix and the treatment for each person is totally individual.

I was told similar, Gracie. My Onc said they'd just chuck everything at mine to give best chance of no-recurrence. She said there's some advantages in being younger as you tend to be a bit stronger. Hmm

thenightisyoung, 25mins is v.good going. I started doing C25k in Jan, but didn't get past the first week as my knees weren't happy and I am lazy. might try it again once I'm past this post op bit.

Gracie, am not sure about probiotics on chemo. Best check though.

Gigondas · 06/05/2012 19:20

Hmm here is hoping youth is on my side ( haven't had the most happy or optimistic of few days).
Wall to wall election on French tv with dh high level commentary - sarkozy has the better looking women more desirable supporters. Also crowd shots - do loads of people hang around London on election day? I suppose they do,

Orange count amongst commentators is high.

topsyturner · 06/05/2012 19:30

Hmm , looks like Sarkoszy is on his way out ...

topsyturner · 06/05/2012 19:31

Can I be considered young too ?
Am only 40 (cough splutter cough) something ... Grin

Gigondas · 06/05/2012 19:34

Lol- Topsy. Sarko has conceded defeat.

jchocchip · 06/05/2012 19:44

gig our general election results come in dribs and drabs through the night, not at a civilised 8pm like this :) very close though and there will be a few more votes to count.

jchocchip · 06/05/2012 19:50

Impressed that Sarkosy not gone home to sulk and is out there getting mobbed...

graciesmall09 · 06/05/2012 20:10

Of course you are young topsy - I'm extemely young at only 44 21.

gigs hope you are ok. When are you heading back from France?

Gigondas · 06/05/2012 20:35

Am home tomorrow gracie. Sarko is out but no sign of Carla.

Gigondas · 06/05/2012 20:36

And am coping... Can't say I am doing any better than that really.

smee · 06/05/2012 20:45

Topsy, I'm older than you am sure. Am 46 now, though currently feel 102..

Gig, I'd say coping's pretty good going. Hope the mini-Gigs sleep all the way back home.

Gigondas · 06/05/2012 20:47

Drugs wearing off smee and got a dicky tummy? 3/4 days post op is the pits IMe.

Oh dear the link to bgt seems to have stopped ...

topsyturner · 06/05/2012 20:52

"The link to bgt has failed"
Small mercies eh Gig Grin

Gigondas · 06/05/2012 20:54

Nope it was back for the poor mans vanessa may Grin
It is better than the accordion playing sing along with Francois Hollande. The French dearly love a good sing along Confused

BackforGood · 06/05/2012 20:55

Waves to Smee. It's OK, these Easter Eggs weren't 'leftover', I got access to the Cadbury staff shop where they were selling them off after Easter Grin.

graciesmall09 · 06/05/2012 21:02

Hope your journey back goes ok gigs. Huge hugs to you.

Gigondas · 06/05/2012 21:03

Is there a point at which you can become sick of chocolate back for good? If this has not yet been scientifically established , I think topsy is volunteering .

BackforGood · 06/05/2012 21:04

It's funny, when I mention that, I suddenly seem to get lots of bestest friends Grin

Gigondas · 06/05/2012 21:04

Aw thanks gracie - hugs are good.
Sorry don't want to bring tone down as I know lots else going on here.

And bgt rubbish so goodness knows why watching .

graciesmall09 · 06/05/2012 21:04

Did someone mention Cadbury buttons? Too much chocolate is bad for you topsy so I will save you from eating it, just fling it in my direction.
