Hi everyone. Just spent the last 3/4 hour catching up on everyone's news! This thread sure moves on.
So many new people! For those I don't know, I was only diagnosed in September, and have now been back at work coming up for 3 months! Everyone is different, but a diagnosis in itself doesn't mena the end of the world.
Lovely to catch up with your news Gig, sorry your's ins't so good at the moment. Really just popped in to put some FBS on the trolley. Will Buttons Easter Eggs do ?
Hugs to all xxx

graciesmall09 · 05/05/2012 21:48

Oh my eyes - has he been in the desert with those clothes?

bumbleymummy · 05/05/2012 21:50

topsyturner · 05/05/2012 22:08

Not too sure about that French Judge of The Voice Gig , but I quite like the other pic of The Sarkosys .
Not for the Royal Couple themselves , but that muscular man in the background nearly had my eye out with his fabulous trunk package ... Grin

topsyturner · 05/05/2012 22:09

X-posted bumble , that's fabulous news !

And Gracie , DD left all the washing up for her Daddy !
I have trained my children well Grin

Gigondas · 05/05/2012 22:12

The French judge is even more odd in the flesh... I think he is channelling belgiums finest

Gigondas · 05/05/2012 22:12

Yep - that is great news bumbles Smile

graciesmall09 · 05/05/2012 22:16

Fab news bumbles

You are indeed a wise woman topsy. Funny how bc has given me an aversion to dish washing - must be a little known side effect of chemo.

MaryAnnSingleton · 05/05/2012 22:42

great news bumble ! Waves to ~backforgood !
When I was a girl and we holidayed in France (my dad used to drive us all the way down to yhe south of France in ricketty cars- once a Morris minor -trailing a boat) the magazines were always full of Claude François nd Johnny Halliday

bumble that's great news!

So good to hear that BC isn't the death sentence some people think it is :)

thenightisyoung · 06/05/2012 14:42

Hi all, just popped in to say hello. I've had a bit of tough few months trying to get my anxiety under control and to get on with living my life but with some really helpful sessions with a counsellor things are much better and I've got some good methods for coping when the jitters creep up on me. I had a 6 month scan on Friday so I'm a bit edgy for the results but nothing too debilitating.

Sorry things have not been good for you Gig - I hope you're managing to have a calm time in France (though with two tinies, probably not).

Love to all of you and Hi to those of you I haven't "met" before xxx

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/05/2012 16:02

waves to thenightisyoung in a stuffed after lunch fashion..am glad the counsellor is helping you with means to cope - will be sending good vibes fort your scan too.
paddy I do think that the more you are about people who have got through treatment and are carrying on with their lives the more reassured you'll feel - things are different after a cancer diagnosis of course, but it isn't the end.

I remember when my hair fell out-I had had my ds,his wife and my 7yr old dgd staying for a week after my first chemo.I avoided washing/brushing/touching my hair all week.Imagine the itching tingling birds nest I carried around for 6 days.as soon as dh left for the airport with them I leapt into the shower.Quite literally ALL my hair came out!It came in clumps hanks and handfuls and I stood and wept in the shower but at least dgd hadn't seen me bald-maybe next time she visited it would have grown back.....fast forwar 30 minutes.I hear the door open, dgd bounds into room she had forgotten her little case of books and toys.Dh and others were waiting in the car.She said;"Hi Grandma,I like your hair short like that-did you just cut it?"I swear I was bald as a coot-a billiard ball indeed.Still she wasn't traumatised though now-she is 12 she mentions it sometimes.

smee · 06/05/2012 17:08

Yay for bumbly. That's brilliant news. Smile Smile

waving to backforgood - how come you still have EasterEggs? Are you sure you're well enough to go back to work?! Grin

thenightisyoung, nice to see you again. When do you get your results? I'd bet the scan will be clear, but stay here and let us distract you. x

gig, you and those orange men. Think you can keep that one though. Grin

cold here, been snoozing, so no need for duct tape. Feeling a bit grey, but mostly okay. Not much scar pain, but my stomach feels like someone's grated it. Me and drugs never were a good mix. Hmm

smee · 06/05/2012 17:10

x-posted, grey lady. Kids are so funny. That's a lovely story. Smile

graciesmall09 · 06/05/2012 17:20

thegreylady that is such a lovely story about your dgd. I am hoping it will be more traumatic for me than the children.

jchoc sending positive thoughts for your 3rd cousin. Hope results turn out ok.

mas and topsy hope you had a lovely lunch.

thenight is young hello and hope your scan goes ok.

I really need to get off my butt and cook some dinner but can't really be bothered.

graciesmall09 · 06/05/2012 17:22

crossposted with smee glad to hear you are resting. Hope you stomach settles soon.

Gigondas · 06/05/2012 17:25

That will be the ga smee - it damages the lining of the stomach. Can you beat to eat yoghurt or take pre biotics to build up?

Hair stories are heartening. I am struggling as chemo is more than hoped I would need so represents real fear for me . But suppose that is same for everyone. X

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/05/2012 17:30

poor smee - hope stomach feels less grated soon.
greylady Smile lovely story.
Am full of lunch - no need for supper-well,maybe a few crisps...

OP posts:
smee · 06/05/2012 17:33

DH went and got me some yummy M&S pro-biotic yoghurts, so am eating a few of those a day. Not too bad really, and I know it will pass, though probably not until I've finished the horse-pills antibiotics.
