kk you are bound to have weepy moments . We are not built to be solitary creatures !

Eek ! Head lump sounds grim mas . Hope it is dealt with easily for you .

cakes hope DH continues to improve , and he continues to sleep well .

Any baby news yet jane ?

I am zapped and home again . 1 bed was down for servicing , and then the usual bay I get treated in had someone in before me that was going to take at least an hour . So I got moved to another team . Had a very lovely looking young man with nice warm hands draw on my chest Grin

Curled up on the sofa now , wrapped in a blanket . It is absolutely freezing here today , can't seem to get warm .
Got a friend coming round for lunch in 1/2 an hour , so must try not to fall asleep on the sofa ...

smee · 12/12/2011 11:59

Wakey, wakey !! Grin

Cakes, a friend of mine had a girl who was as bad as my DS too. So very hard those days. I totally get why they use sleep deprivation as a form of torture.

cakesandale · 12/12/2011 12:10

I know. DD isn't great now. Insists on sleeping with a light on and the door open, and sleeps so lightly that either of us drifting past to the loo or because we can't sleep is guaranteed to wake her up. It's crap, TBH.

KurriKurri · 12/12/2011 12:13

Thanks for the virtual hugs Smile - I am OK mostly during the day - its the night time that gets me - we've all been there haven't we?

My DD was a good sleeper, - after DS, I thought there must be something wrong with her and kept poking her to check Grin

It's cold here too brrrr - wrap up warm topsy, - have you got a hot water bottle?

jchocchip · 12/12/2011 12:18

Kk I know it doesn't help but I would be surprised if you were not in a state. Virtual hugs from me too. Are you allowed out for a walk around the garden as long as you don't go close to other people?

No news from sil yet. I know that it may be a long induction though as she is not due yet and their first two were 10 days late.

smee · 12/12/2011 12:27

Cakes, DS is like that too. I had to switch on an audio book for him last night at 3am, as it was the one way I could crawl back to my own cosy bed.

Nights are always the worst time, Kurri. Think Cakes is right, the radiation can't be helping. I have a hot water bottle. Have already filled it twice. The cat's looking at it longingly. Grin

Will keep my fingers crossed for your SIL, Cat. Hope it's not too long a wait. Smile

jchocchip · 12/12/2011 13:28

Those pandas in adjoining enclosures can touch the glass that separates them. Awww.

MaryAnnSingleton · 12/12/2011 13:53

aww @pandas Xmas Smile
Hugs for kk -poor lamb, you need comforting hugs and everything after everything recently.
Don't fret about my head,it is nothing,it's just that I fear wibblyness when it's done -that's more the thing that worries me.
Crikey- I must've been very lucky as ds slept brilliantly and you could clatter and make noise and he wouldn't stir.

topsytinselturner · 12/12/2011 14:09

No hot water bottle kk , just a pig/dog who climbed up onto the sofa beside me and went to sleep on my feet .
Shhhh , don't tell DH Grin

Both my DC slept through the night from 6 weeks old
Well either that or DH and I just slept too heavily and never woke up when they squeeled in the night Grin

I managed to stay awake and friend and I had cheesey beans on toast , yum .
Got to go and pick DD up from school in 20 minutes .
Don't want to , it's cold out there . And I am all cosy under my blanky ...

smee · 12/12/2011 14:26

Shock at your DC's sleeping prowess, Topsy. I definitely won't tell my friend that.

No, it sure doesn't!

Dd did sleep through the night from about 7 weeks old, between about 9pm and 5am. But other than that, she never slept at all, no naps, nothing, no matter how tired or strung out she was. We never got to go for a drink, or a meal, shopping, or anything without having to interact constantly. Exhausting. I look at couples out now with young babies asleep in their little buggies or car seats and I just can't comprehend how different our experience was.

She's 8.5 now and nothing has changed. I seem to have spent all weekend saying 'Stop interrupting'

smee · 12/12/2011 15:00

You're making it all flood back - DS was horrendous. He woke 4 or 5 times a night until he was 4 and I never managed to get him to sleep in his cot during the daytime. Even in the buggy, he'd drop off then be awake again after half an hour. I honestly thought I was going mad at times when he was little. Ho hum..

jchocchip · 12/12/2011 15:01

Aparently you are allowed to co sleep again. I used to feed the dds lying down in the middle of the night and often woke up in the morning with a baby nestled in the crook of my arm... happy days. pfb ds was much harder work...

eta this evening according to my brother.

cakesandale · 12/12/2011 15:07

Oh God I wish we hadn't started this now. Such frankly horrible memories don't seem the best way to welcome the impending newborn.

So I'll just keep everything crossed for your brother and SIL, Jane.

smee · 12/12/2011 15:13

Ooh, excellent news Jane. Smile

It is bizarre remembering. I co-slept with DS. Was lovely, even if he wouldn't shut up. Smile

MaryAnnSingleton · 12/12/2011 15:31

ooh exciting jane. I used to go to sleep in the mid afternoon on the spare bed with ds in his car seat thing next to me,until he woke up for feeding.

OP posts:
jchocchip · 12/12/2011 16:38

Argh now I remember trying to sleep with a toe on the car seat rocker thing to rock pfb .... I remember the first few months being challenging. I was so much more laid back with the dds. Threw away the feeding schedule for a start and didn't care if I spent all evening with my feet up feeding in front of the tv - knew it would help the following night.

smee · 12/12/2011 16:53

I'm sure I made things worse with my ds, by stressing. Having said that a couple of friends have had a dream time with their first but a nightmare with the next. Such a lottery !

MaryAnnSingleton · 12/12/2011 17:54

baby yet jane ??
Seen the doctor-he explained in detail what he'd do (ick ick ick) as if I don't remember from before (surely the emergency bleeder is etched in his memory ?) and am going first thing on 3rd January.....

OP posts:
KurriKurri · 12/12/2011 18:10

Good that you're getting it done MAS.

Hope that baby arrives soon jane Smile

amberlight · 12/12/2011 18:25

evening all.
Brain not working v well after long day and got long meeting next but X Factor was brilliant! Today's radiotherapy palaver less so Xmas Hmm but it got sorted in the end.
Have a Brew or Wine as needed. Not the same as a hug, but can offer virtual ones of those if required?

jchocchip · 12/12/2011 18:53

No news on the baby front. Fingers and toes crossed and candles lit here.

KurriKurri · 12/12/2011 19:15

DH not home yet - bit late for him, starting to worry slightly.

smee · 12/12/2011 19:57

Is he back yet, Kurri??

Amber, grr for you on Rads palaver, but still another one done. What date do you finish? Xmas Smile
