Just curious as to what works best after numerous years on the pill

pregnancy

I'm going to have to rethink that strategy after this 4th one though

misdee · 05/01/2006 16:52

abstinance

Mistymoo · 05/01/2006 16:54

LOL - yes the pregnant one worked for me second time round so all the more reason for doing something grown up and taking precautions. Minipill gave me headaches and no periods so didn't like it much. Abstinence too worked for a while but actually found myself back in the mood over the Xmas festivites.

I have now been sterilised.

In the past I have used the combined pill, the mini pill, and IUD, the condom and a diaphragm.....not all at the same time

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 05/01/2006 17:00

Condoms

Janbo25 · 05/01/2006 20:47

I believe the impant is suppossed to be good, but like you i'm also in the same position of not knowing what to do, we've been using the avanti condoms which are very good

Pagan · 06/01/2006 09:10

Condoms aren't really working for us as (much to my DH's delight) we can't seem to find any big enough . When he puts one on it's like an apprentice has had a go at the sausage making maching

Nothing! It took us 2.5 years to conceive and that was a miracle.

The very risky withdrawal method ! We conceived our DD within 4 months of trying and DH and his ex had no probs at all conceiving their 2 boys, so I don't think we're below par in the fertility stakes. It hasn't failed us since DD was born 3.5 years ago !!! We use WD because I can't use any form of hormonal contraception (big stroke risk), we both hate condoms, and the hormone free coil gives me heavy periods.

izzybiz · 06/01/2006 09:44

i had an implant fitted over a year ago and its been great. i had head aches for the first few weeks but settled now. ireggular bleeding too, but i always had that anyway. at the mo, havent had a bleed for a few months! so quite a nice side effect i think.

willandsamsmum · 08/01/2006 21:05

I use the Persona. It's an initial £65 outlay and then £10 a month on pee sticks but it's great. You POAS on day 6 of your cycle and then do another 7 in a row later in the month. (although the first month you do 16 in total) It reads your wee and gives you either a green light or a red light. If it's green you can get on down with no protection and if it's red you should abstein (although we use condoms on red light days). It's great. In the past i've used the pill and the coil and neither suited me. The pill made me go off sex completely (no point in taking a contraceptive really!) and the coil gave me cramps and very heavy clotty periods. The persona has no side effects.

Ds in bed between us

hunkermunker · 08/01/2006 21:06

Infertility...then pregnancy...bizarrely! Will have to think about it!

hoxtonchick · 08/01/2006 21:13

coil (normal, not the mirena). fantastic.

notasheep · 08/01/2006 21:23

Nothing

biglips · 08/01/2006 21:24

mirena coil - suited me to the ground (cannot have pill as due hypertension BP)

Passionflower · 08/01/2006 21:41
